Much of it I agree with. The main purpose that these roles serve is the protection due to the bodygaurd. While electing a scum mayor/pardoner would obviously not be an optimal move, they can indeed be lynched at any time. Therefore, aside from being town, there are pretty much 2 reasons why someone should be elected:
1. They are veterans who are good at this game and will most likely be targeted night one, and therefore want the gaurenteed protection.
2. they have a blue role they want protected.
Because we are not going to force the candidates to role-claim, people should be looking at #1 in combonation with your town read, when deciding who to vote for.

We can't be elected on consecutive days? That's disappointing. Anyway, we are obviously running Radfield and I have to say I don't like you based on your very first post! Still, that's based almost on nothing substantial so unless that changes I recommend voting you into the office along with us. Even arbitrarily assuming there's a 50/50 chance that you are mafia, I feel that it's optimal to elect you given that you can't run tomorrow and if we are elected as well we'll be around to make sure you are still making sense.
I imagine Palmar will write a real announcement post later, but

I'm already tired of people saying something and not explaining why? You can't just say "Yo, my name's prof (insert funny pic here) vote for me." You can't just say "yo you are so mafia". Please tell people, especially us newbies WHY you need to be elected, or WHY he is mafia.
@Dropbear: It's important we get these things done now so we don't
A) Have a misinterpretation that bite's our asses down the line
B) Have no regulation and let mafia run free in the elected positions.
We should make a constitution for the elected officials

Also this likely isn't relevant today, but since both of the elected officials are automatically pardoned, it should be strictly forbidden to vote for someone who is realistically being targeted for a lynch. If you disagree with the lynch, you simply argue against it and don't attempt to influence it by pardoning him. If such a policy isn't in place, it appears possible especially later on for mafia to get one of their own pardoned.

And the reason we should elect him is bescause then he can't run tomorrow is stupid. Anyone elected can't run the next day, it doesn't only apply to him. At least you say its not based on anything substantial.
I actually slightly dislike your + radfields campaign now just from this post. The fact that you already think I'm mafia might somewhat be biasing my post. But I like people asking questions so no I'm not mafia. Are you mafia ? DrDoom will release the train and kill innocent people if you answer falsely!

Dropbear is suspicious based his very first post because he is making a ridiculous assumption about our activity in order to prevent us from being elected. The main point of me and palmar being hydras is that we know each others alignment and can thus freely discuss everything. It has nothing to do with activity and I can assure you we will be very active. Why would dropbear want to make that assumption? The townie motivation for it is quite weak as activity is something that will speak for itself.

I agree with this. Radfield tied himself quickly to another player. I have no scumread on him right now (nothing he has done really screams "mafia" to me) but I think we should hold on voting and bandwagoning this early, regardless. How would it look if Arcotocod flipped mafia after Radfield tied himself too him?
Again, not claiming I have scum-vision. Just making a point that "itchy-trigger-finger" voting might be a bad thing.

No, I actually do not think you are mafia based on your posts so far, to the contrary. It was merely something I wanted to say even before the game began. I did not fully explain my reasoning, but the point is that if radfield is mafia, him being elected does not rob us from the elected position for the duration of the whole game. Usually that is the case, so while you can argue that it's optimal to elect the "best" players into the office without even reading their posts, the fact that they will be stuck there for the remainder of the game is something that makes the optimal play a bit murkier.
That is not to suggest that I'm advocating we should elect anyone without reading their posts, but that is my personal position on optimal play. I can discuss this further later today if necessary, but for now I've to catch the bus.

Ok, so I'm going to bed. Heres pretty much everything I'm thinking so far.
I'm townie and were going to win this. Dues ex is saying something stupid in that "us 4 are the ones that will die obviously" because then well, what if the 2 hydra's not elected do just die.. I think they are all pretty strong and you saying this might have just killed them. I geuss mafia might just figure it out and medic can save one so w/e, but I still dislike you saying this outloud in this game. Arcotocod and Dropbear are both so agressive. I don't think either should be voted to Mayor / Pardoner. Radfield hasn't said anything from his one post, so I kind of don't think he should be mayor based on that, but I really think hes townie. Just from a random gut read. I like Greymist and what hes saying and I get a weird vibe from PRPlhz.
I do really want to be a mayor or a pardoner as well, but as I'm learning, being new can really screw you over with this sort of thing. I do think its smart to vote in people who are very well experienced though so I get it. I just think I could play this role well even if I dont get it this turn. Anyway.. I'll write more on everything when I wake up. 2am here almost, so I shall see you guys tomorrow!

Also going to bed. Just a few things:
1. There's still lots of time before the election deadline. We should definitely wait to start the bandwagons rolling until after we've heard everyone's opinions on the matter.
2. Goes along with the last one, people are still sleeping or are just lurking. We need everyone to weigh in before we commit to anything.
Guess that's it from me for tonight. I'll try to have some sort of response to the inevitable flood of posts that will come as I sleep. See you all in the morning.

So the winner becomes mayor and the runner up pardoner.Not directly voting for each role since we are casting one vote
in the election each, but can always change votes or try to cast votes accordingly I suppose.
How long do they stay elected for, till someone else is voted in to that office? It Seems like there will be more than offices for election.
dumb question I hope, but the wording bugged me a little.
"Twice per game you may pardon a player, nullifying all votes against the player during the lynch."
Does this mean the runner up in number of votes gets lynched, or does the during the lynch part remove that possibility.
