This is going to be fun. I wholeheartedly support this thread, because even if I don't manage to do well generally I can refer to this (much smaller) pool of players and claim "Look! I'm roflstomping my mafia competitors on FPL!".

STX at 1 point is a decent pick I think. They shouldn't get rolled too often, and it frees up points for your main team.
I'm deliberately avoiding high priced players, as without Ace matches, they simply are not worth their value. Instead I'm focusing on players who will play a lot(teams have no depth at their race), and who can put up decent numbers. KT, ACE, CJ and Team 8 all play twice this week, so I'll take one of CJ, KT or T8 and trade them off for SKT next week(depending on SKT's sched). I'm leaning CJ right now, as they play Ace and STX which they should rack up some points on.
I think Snow is the best person for Anti-team right now, as he is on a stacked team and slumping which means he likely will not get a ton of playing time. Horang2 and Movie will overshadow him, and Leta/Hydra/Effort are all better than him. Not to mention that CJ will likely win a lot of games before all their players play.

I did go with Iris, Kal and Leta for my anti-team, I like Iris and Kal, but Leta might cause me some trouble.

I have ACE as my team and have 2 CJ - 2 ACE players. I know CJ vs. ACE match is coming up soon but I really didn't want to switch the line up because I never traded before. I'm wondering if it's still going to be terrible idea...

On completely irrelevant note, let's talk about my team name Joyous Corps! I referred to my team as "corp" since ACE is military, and if you abbreivate the name you get J.C., which after being reversed is C.J.

Ace is stacked right now, and Kal would be a great Protoss but Ace generally wins without their Protosses ever showing up to play.

On another note, I thought I was totally screwed when I saw Crazy-Hydra > Killer but it turns out I actually didn't have Crazy-Hydra on anti, so I only missed out on the opportunity for Killer to earn points. Probably should've remembered that the 8th team has no currently good ZvZ'ers (sorry JD) so Killer winning the intra-team tournament doesn't count for much in that respect.

CJ was definitely the good pick for week one, but the real question now is if I should flip them for either Team 8, KT or SKT. It really depends who plays twice, and who they play, in week 2.
Looking at my team I have to wonder what I was thinking Time for some trades!

Hmm, I just realized the schedule is all messed up. There isn't a full slate of games this upcoming week, only 4 games.
Tuesday: Ace vs Team 8
Wednesday: STX vs Woongjin
Thursday: CJ vs Khan
Friday: KT vs SKT
No games this Sat or Sun....
But then the following week we get a full slate of 6 games again.... In fact, looking ahead the whole schedule is really jumpy.

It's still waaaay too early to call a winner, even though the trading system does encourage a vicious cycle where those that score, score more, and those that fall, keep falling.
My player picks could have been a bit better (or luckier?) but if Samsung beats up CJ (hope) and SKT takes down KT (certainty) I'm pretty sure I'll be in a very nice spot.

I don't like the fact that losing players receive a net score of 0 due to the line-up appearance point. I want to be rewarded for  HoeJJa's 30% win rate.

Pretty good day for me, shot up a lot of places but still quite behind point-wise the CJ-heavy teams. SKT does have a game in hand though, hope that pays off. But Effort and Hydra winning and playing in all their matches is a huge boon to those who have them. I personally should have had more faith and taken Rain along with Best, but I decided I wanted a few 6-pointers instead, who haven't paid off as handsomely.
I agree that gaining points when anti-team players lose would be more interesting, but I would have picked an entirely different anti-team if that was the rule.
Actually, all the current 0-point antiteams are either pure KT, or KT-STX mixes. The funny thing though is that the worst anti-teams out there aren't even ones by players who picked them intentionally to lose (Flash/Bisu/JD).

I agree, but there are other problems** as well, such as players getting points for team wins. I have Hyuk on my anti team and he hasn't even played a game this season, yet he's still worth 2 points cause SKT keeps winning convincingly.
**Not that it is a problem per se, but it's just how the system works.

I made this same mistake last year; I picked 6 decent players and Ace. But the reward:cost ratio for teams like CJ and SKT is so high it's ridiculous. Oh well.

Yeah. Teams can earn up to 6 points per match, and only cost 5 for the best teams. And if you consider that they could possibly lose 2 points as well, it's a variance of up to 8 when picking a good team.
Players can earn up to 4.333 points per match, and cost up to 10 for the best players. You want to buy the best team you can...and it's even more skewed this FPL round than the previous one.

I had really hoped to be able to trade CJ off for SKT this week. Unfortunately because of that game in hand SKT actually had a higher trade value than CJ. I didn't expect that, but oh well.
I did however trade effort for Best. Best should get 2 games this week, and if he pulls off two wins it will be worth it. Otherwise I'm in trouble.

I traded my Turn for Mind. I think it will be good trade but I really can't predict jack compared to when they played bw so don't get upset if I'm super wrong. You definitely want to get rid of Baby, try to swap him for someone who isn't listed to play or you don't think will get much playtime because he will keep costing you points

Also, I have bogus in my anti-team (because he played Rain D1 and I thought he's gonna lose for sure), and I can only trade him for Rain or Flash

I thought I was doing okay this round. I had avoided Baby rocking my anti-team again and Effort was doing nothing. He then lost to hyvaa, so I thought I was in the clear. Who the fuck fields Effort as their ace and how the hell does he win vs. Bogus?!

I picked Mini because he's probably the most undervalued player at 1 and I hope to see him coming out as sniper. Same deal with Paralyze, despite being on skt which is pretty stacked with skilled players. But if SK wins as much as I expect them to he will atleast get winpoints.
Light also seemed undervalued.
There were alot of good 5's but Soo as the best SKT zerg he will undoubtedly get playtime.
Jaehoon is a wildcard. He's brought me luck in the past.
Rain: All-kill format --> Get the best player at all cost.
Anti-Team. My policy for anti teams have always been 5-4-4. Stork seemed by far like the weakest 5 and I'm hoping for STX tears.

You can't trade mid week. You can trade again wednesday i believe.
I've given up on the whole FPL... Getting -1 the first week is just demoralizing. At least I got 0 points first week of round 1. The minus sign is just bumming me out =)

I think you can do it by changing the URL. There should be something like r=SomeNumber. You just change that number to whatever round you want to see (do the change from your main team page) and then you can navigate from there.

I am pretty bad at this shit but i won't trade.
Every time i have made a trade in FPL all has gone south. On season 1 BroodWar (i think?) i was able to finish in top 80 or smth by not trading anything. Sad i havn't been following SC2PL, i have no idea who's good and who's not.

Funny fact. From the beginning in like every round i have had Roro in my main or anti team. Every single time i remember Roro has either ruined my main team by underperforming or my anti team by overperforming. This time i flipped a coin to decide if i put him as my captain or in my anti team.

Don't worry i usually fuck up every round somehow (mostly because of Roro).

I am making an epic comeback on the last week. Sunday +13 if i did count it right, three won games + one lineup appereance that didn't play.

I'll fall back on third place. Everything hinged on marineking winning vs rogue since I'm the only top 10 guy to have marineking in my lineup, while most others had rogue. Had he won, I would have won the season. Now it's extremely unlikely that I'll win.
