Numbers aren't important yet, but they will be soon. bumatlarge (by the way, I still pronounce your name as "boom-at-large"), I agree with you on a vast majority of your listing, though I'm going to disagree with your relegation of the Rock Star role. Consequently, I disagree with most of Radfield's. There are just too many roles in this game with killing power / "anti-town" potential to tie down to people. Your plan effectively makes top-slot townies useless and enables top-slot Mafia to have their anti-town powers. I don't care if you know where these powers are--this game can easily go as Toy Factory did, and be over in two or three cycles. bumatlarge--as an "Imba/self protection" role the Rock Star is quite top-notch. Not only would whoever chose it be protected to a very high degree, but he would also know two people who didn't get roles--and that second part is, in my opinion, more of a sale than the first, especially if whomever ends up partying I will be taking either Rock Star or Chuiu Jack as my role. Were I feeling more involved in the game at the moment, I'd lean toward Rock Star, since that would allow me to have amazing backtracking ability. However, the brokenness of the Jack completely boggles my mind. I'll probably be choosing that. Inventor is awesome[ly broken] and you guys should keep up the discussion on that, but I think somebody else would be able to better use the role. I don't, though my patriotism runs strong. Caller, your comment about Radfield not anti-American is gold, by the way. Interestingly enough, we could theoretically hunt out an America by having everybody type a nuke command in the thread, though it's not really worth it right now... On May 16 2011 15:43 Ace wrote: Anyone else that didn't claim numbers should soon. I'm surprised no one has made a big deal about number clashing yet like in PYP 1. With so many unique numbers at the top and a bunch of clashes from 16 on down I think focusing our investigations into the clashing sets is a good start. We somewhat have an idea of what should be in the top slots so if any bad actions that were already discussed happen we know where to look. For the most part, the list is finished. My numbers are irrelevant, though for the sake of transparency I chose the same numbers that a Serial Killer in PYP3 chose. + Show Spoiler + 1. Flamewheel [][] 2. Scamp [7][11] 3. Caller [10][4] 4. I could post it tonight, but I'll be able to cut a sizable portion of it out with one more number.

That way he'd know if that him and Kurumi picked the same number (if Chezinu picked [9][11] also) or just won't know if it's unique (if Chezinu picked [9][x] or [4][x]). Either way it wouldn't matter because nothing about number picks could tell you about alignment yet. I don't think FW noticed anything and instead was just asking what the second number pick is like all of us have been. Well, the truth is that I expect it's easier to get Kurumi's second number than it is to get both of Chezinu's... Furthermore, knowing Chezinu's number doesn't really give us that much. Furthermore, it's impossible for Kurumi and Incognito to have picked the same second number unless the number in question is 1. If it were anything else, they would be below Node and kitaman27 in the draft picks. Back to sleep for now--see you guys in a few.

A couple things to note right now. Unlike in TL Mafia XXXI, the Village Idiot does not end the game when lynched. The journalist power can also only be used once per cycle. So deconduo is pretty much being useless right now. Check him or shoot him at night if you're not going to lynch him now. Or lynch him--who cares? Also, I'm so glad nukes are public. Let me prove I'm not America. ##Nuke: infinitestory When no nuke kills my fellow staff member at the end of the day, we'll all be happy. Actually, that's not true. If somebody hypothetically had actually chosen America, they could launch the same nuke. Good luck with that, though--I can check and then shoot anybody foolish enough to do that in the following nights. Now just let me do my thing and check, protect, and/or shoot people at night. And I'm wondering if Ace and I noticed the same thing.

Node, stop being useless. In the eight posts you've made since the draft orders have been revealed there is only one post with over 40 words, and they've progressively become even less relevant to the game. Incognito is being silly. Lynching him is dumb. His posts are actually beneficial to the town, unlike many of the people filling up these pages right now. Scamp, your posts also don't say much. I wouldn't say they're evasive, but they're one step up from being useless. You've contributed very little to the discussion so far and you haven't even really demonstrated why you have suspicions of KillerSOS. deconduo needs to post more, and in not such a farcical fashion. tnkted has four posts since receiving his role PM. One is asking whether or not others had received their role PMs. One is nonsense, part blabbering about raptureready and part inane pressure on Mr. Wiggles. One is about how he doesn't know about the PYP setup and his conjectures on numbers. The last is about applying pressure, and he hasn't been around since. He needs to not only post more, but also post in a more contributory fashion. Fishball is being useless. And if a nuke does indeed land on infinitestory at the end of the day, you know who I'll be shooting. I'm placing my vote on Node for now.

Flamewheel, you're welcome to say that the quality of my posts has dropped off, but you have to admit that for Chezinu "quality" is just a memory of a dream. The only game I've played with him was Survivor Amazon, but quality posts and analysis wasn't exactly the name of the game there. I clicked through his history from TL Mafia XXX and earlier and while I didn't see anything stellar, he at least seemed to be, you know, playing. I have to think that he's smarter than he's letting on. I think an excellent word to describe Chezinu is Chezinu. I find it best just to accept him as he is. I'd actually say Chezinu has taught me more about being Mafia than anybody else.

If there are investigative roles though, it'd be totally chill if you wanted to check /track/watch me. Of course, with quite a few role- and alignment-altering roles out there, take what you find (off of anybody you check) with a teaspoon of salt. Because of that, it might be worth it to check somebody not so high on the "needing to be checked list". Oh, and since Ver isn't online right now: How exactly does the Mafia XII Godfather's covering ability work? Does he choose a new person every night? Or is it permanent? And is he limited to only Mafia? Before I go over why the people I listed above should potentially be shot or checked tonight (some not so much shot as the checked though), let's talk about who does deserve medic protection. I agree with the posters above for the most part. Medic protection for Caller and Radfield--please don't let Radfield die night 1 as always. Besides the CPR Doctor and my own occasional medic powers, there are only three protecting roles--the medic and two variants of doctor. And it's pretty unlikely that all three, or even two of the three, were chosen. Incognito theoretically could use Medic protection, though given that he's suspicious I doubt he's going to be popped tonight. Nobody else has shown any signs of being "pro-town", so there is no need to protect them. Don't protect me, bumatlarge, Ace, Scamp (if he is indeed the inventor), or others until we have shown that we are worth protecting. Now then, on to people who are worth popping and dusting. You'll notice that my given list is over ten long--and I'm not even including everybody in this soirée. Obviously, not all these people can be Mafia. To varying degrees though, the majority can be lumped into sometimes-overlapping "inactive" and "useless" groups. Of course, given the deplorable state of TL towns, naturally some less-than-useful townies are thrust into the mix.
It's not really worth a response at this point, but Scamp I voted Kavdragon because I didn't believe either Incognito or Barundar to be Mafia, and from not actually bothering to carefully peruse the thread I didn't have anybody in mind of my own that was more suspicious. By all means, hold me, and everybody else who voted for Kavdragon accountable for our actions. It was obviously not a good lynch, but it served to reaffirm my belief that Mafia are playing a relatively inactive game. For the most part, I'd say that out of the actually-red right now, the majority are laying low, and one member is clandestinely causing clamor. This is why my list contains, for the most part, people who are mostly seem to be keeping quiet. It's impossible to be certain at the moment, but I'd say that checking those who lurk is the best way to catch Mafia right now. There are fears in my mind as to what can happen this night. There are many effective one-two instagib wombo combos the Mafia can pull off if they've grabbed the right role[s]. As such, I'm not going to give them any more ideas than they might already have. I won't be posting much more for the night unless something decently obvious grabs my attention, since I'm hoping to have much more consolidated and spam-free material to work with tomorrow.

Well, it makes the game more fun I suppose. Alright--let's figure out why there were only two shots. Obviously, Scamp was killed. I was shot. That's 2 KP for Mafia. First off: was anybody else shot? There are too many roles in this game, and I don't think that Mafia only have two bullets per night. Next, if there is indeed a copycat, he needs to claim--considering he's the new Inventor. Considering the whole point of discussing inventions was to try to control the Inventor, if there is another one I want to know who it is, for obvious basic accountability reasons.

What happens then is Scamp would show up as vanilla in the flip. I'm hoping somebody procured a role or alignment check on somebody in this list. Logically, since Caller and I were at the top of the draft pick, obfuscating circumstances aside I'd like to think that at least one of us was checked. I currently don't pick up any Mafia signals from Caller (I do want to know what his role is though), and in light of recent events, with recent events being the attack on me and the subsequent clue, I've been able to greatly limit the number of potential murderers. I've already stated that the clue first comes from profile information, and if that is not available, the username. Through questioning Ver, I know definitively that if it was indeed a collective Mafia shot used on me, then the clue pertains to a randomly generated member of the Mafia--any member. It just so happens that out of the list of people voting for Kavdragon, there is one match to my list of suspects generated from the clue. Naturally, there are six potential people from which to choose if I indeed the target of the collective Mafia and not one of their individualized KP roles. All I'm saying is that the overlap, while coincidental, still bolsters my confidence in who I am going to shoot tonight. Of course, neither BloodyC0bbler nor myself professes to be the best clue analyst, and given that Ver definitely wouldn't have given me something too easy to work with, it's still a tough clue and probably isn't very direct. After mulling over everything for a decent number of hours, here's the clue. Peyton Hillis upset Aaron Rodgers and many others to make it to the Madden 12 cover. Given the situation right now, I will not be listing my suspects derived from the clue.

bumatlarge--nice Watcher claim there. Since you claimed, why don't you tell us who you watched? I'm going to assume you didn't watch me, since otherwise you could tell the town who hit me. You also said you were going to find Mafia for us today, and yet you've been absent as well. You haven't made a case on chaoser, and you've just followed up on the Incognito train. Mr. Wiggles--kill one of the "suspicious" lurkers. My vote for the king lynch will be on KillerSOS. OriginalName is a close second. Since I'm not going to be around after this post, I'm going to place my vote on KillerSOS. In the event that KillerSOS is lynched by our king, I have made arrangements with Ver to switch my vote to OriginalName as my second choice. Though deconduo is lurking, I don't think it's likely that he's Mafia for now, for reasons explained below. Eiii could have been another potential shot, though midterms may be a plausible reason and he plays like this as town as well. Also, I'm glad Mafia chose Kingmaker, since if you're town it's just stupid. If you catch a Kingmaker, kill him. Even if a Politician doesn't act today, that doesn't guarantee that one doesn't exist--there's always a possibility of it happening later. deconduo--If you're not going to provide a reason as to why I'm the best lynch, then you're going to be summarily ignored. Oh wait, you already have been. Interestingly enough, after filtering and reading your posts in Insane 2 (Town Veteran), XXXVII (Mafia Godfather), and Orgah (Godfather), I think you're town at this present moment--you're just unhappy you didn't get your role (which I think is fishy still). I won't shoot you. Sleep well tonight. Ace--I was originally going to choose America. Then I got the number one slot. No joy ensued, since that was something I did not want. No, I believe Incognito is correct in his statement that America is the only completely accountable role in the pool. Unfortunately, its drawbacks exist in the fact that "the town" can't control where the nuke is going to be targeted at. Of course, the best a Mafia America could do is effectively suicide somebody important during the day, then soak up a town shot/lynch the following cycle. Caller--I'm sad you didn't choose a more interesting role. I don't like the unfortunately resigned state of martyr that you're in, since it'd be better to the game as a whole for you to get yourself replaced, not killed. Do I have a Mafia read on you? Not in the slightest. If you are town and killed (sacrificed), then it's a loss. If you are replaced and your replacement oozes green with every post, then it's all rainbows and sunshine. And if your replacement oozes red, then it's a win for the town. Meapak_Ziphh--we love you too. Hearts all around. I had more to say but forgot it along the way... I'll be seeing you guys in probably twenty hours. Protect GMarshal. If you can, protect, track, and/or watch me--I'm shooting tonight, and I'm going to hit Mafia. In case it's missed, I vote to lynch KillerSOS with the king's power.
