You have been chosen to be part of a reality game show called survivor. You will challenge you way to survive the elements, overcome challenges and be the last person standing. You will struggle to survive on the island and if you make no effort to survive, you will likely not live. Rumor also has it that one of the contestants has a violent history therefore you will be required to sign our agreement in order to take place. By signing you agree that you will not sue us for any injury, death, or any other affliction or harm to come your way. We will occasionally reward you for completing certain tasks, but otherwise you must do this on your own.
Roles
If the game is successful, I might add more roles to add flavor to the game, but for experimental we will keep it simple.
Survivor: You are a survivor, your goal is to win the game by being the last person on the island. You will win $5 million survivor bucks if you do.
Serial Killer: Your thurst for blood is the only reason for joining. Every evening you must pm me the name of an outcast to kill and a backup if the person you chose is kicked off the island. You are not satisfied until everyone is gone or dead. If you get kicked off the island, you will go insane and suicide (not be able to participate in last vote)
Phases
Each day is seperated into 2 different phases lasting 24 hours each. Morning: Everyone will be given a challenge. The first one to correctly complete the challenge will receive immunity for the day from being voted off and be protected from night kills. This challenge will happen at a set time in the morning phase therefore you should be on at the specific challenge times to gain an advantage. Most challenges will be puzzles, logic or math puzzles, identifying movies or music or a combination. To answer a challenge send me a PM with your answer/etc. If no one completes the puzzle, then no one will be granted immunity. The winner will be announced in the thread. It is possible for the serial killer to win. You can win challenges multiple days in a row.
Evening: Everyone except the immune person will vote someone off the island. This is completely up to the group. In case of a tie, the person that has immunity will make the final decision. If there is still a tie, then the person who completed the challenge last will lose. In the final event of a tie, the two players will be given a task to do and the one to complete correctly first will win. Voting will take place by sending me a pm. Along with your vote you must include a brief statement about why you are voting off this person. The reason may be read aloud in the chat, so it's probably not a good idea to include your name in the reason. The Serial Killer must also attempt to kill someone, they will give me their target at this time.
Rule changes
At any time the rules may change since this is a experimental game. Most likely it won't change at all, but please be aware of that.
Other Rules
Please read the rules as they are quite different than normal games.
Answering Questions As the host, I will sometimes ask you a question in the thread. You must answer (your answer may be as short as one word). I will typically ask questions during the evening phase.
PM PM's are allowed during the evening phase BUT, when you start a PM with someone you must inform me that you did so. A random person will witness the event and be informed that they saw you initiate a conversation with someone else. You may only initiate a conversation with one person per day. Once the phase is over you must reinitiate conversation to keep talking. For example if Bob pm's mary, john will get a message saying "You witnessed Bob trying to start a conversation with mary"
Deaths and being voted off. Once you are killed or voted off the island you may not talk in the thread or in pm, but may watch the rest and comment in a seperate thread that I will pm you. You will help vote for the winner (if you were voted off, dead people can't vote, sorry.)
Winning To win you must be the last person on the island. When there are only 2 contestants left, players that are still alive but were kicked off the island will vote who they think should win so making friends is very important if you want to win. To win as the serial killer you must be on the island on the last day. You will immediately kill the only other person left on the island. It is important to vote off the serial killer before the last day.
ModKills It's really hard to get modkilled, but everyone must vote. I will be following the ban list. If you don't vote, then you will be replaced or kicked off the island and you will receive a warning. Also if you are caught cheating (photoshopping screenshots, etc) then you will get a ban and possibly more.
If you have rule suggestions or questions please ask in the thread or pm me as needed.
Each Day will start at 18:00 PST (11:00 KST). Challenges will be given out no later than 19:00 PST(12:00 KST). This game is considered a mini-mafia game and will start when mini-mafia VII ends.
To sign up for the game write /sign to sign the agreement not to sue us for any deaths or injuries from trying to survive on the island.
Player list 1. Mr Wiggles 2. LSB Voted Off Day 1 3. Gmarshal Killed Night 3 4. jackal58 Voted Off Day 2 5. Amber[LighT] Killed Night 2 6.Annul Killed Night 1 7. Coagulation 8. GGQ 9. LunarDestiny Voted off Day 3
Replacement List: 1. Bumatlarge

Everyone will be given a challenge. The first one to correctly complete the challenge will receive immunity for the day from being voted off and be protected from night kills.
On February 19 2011 05:42 LSB wrote: Hey, will you make challenges to get immunity?
Yeah, Like for the first night, the challenge is going to be 5 scenes from a movie. (random scenes, hard to decipher) but I will give a list of movies to pick from.
For day 2, I'm thinking of having a text twist challenge to see who gets the best score at text twist.
These aren't neccesarily in order. I have 5 challenges already lined up, so these may or may not appear on day's 1 and 2.
I have an old version of BW lying around somewhere, but I have never really played it in any sort of competitive manner. In SC2 I'm plat/low diamond. COME AT ME BRO!
That hidden immunity idol thing is cool. I might add that to the game. I have a great idea for it.
I think if the SK is around on the third day I will give a tiny clue about him. Right now, the SK basically has a 20% chance of winning with RNG while everyone else has a 8% chance. I think a small clue (with a 50% chance of finding the right person) will help.
Lol I was just thinking if you were SK of using an OPEC reference. Just kidding. It will be a very vague clue, like an example would be say if you were the SK you have the word "jack" in your name. Maybe I could throw in a clue about "Idra being the bastard son of Phil Helmuth" or something (helmuth -> poker -> cards -> jack) so there is quite a degree of seperation.

Oh yeah absolutely, the producers knew they needed to give rob and russell another shot at actually winning to keep viewers. And even from the first episode it seems like they scouted for smarter people (though they still have the hopelessly retarded in there as well)
yeah, i was thinking there are at least a handful of people who seem to be students of the game, so that is a good thing. i hope they remember their knowledge at the final vote.
The reason I don't want unlimited pms is because on the island it's really hard to have a pm and it's very obvious when you are having a pm with someone. I'm trying to immitate that. Also I want to make it difficult to maintain alliances if you are just pming all the time.
If you want to win, join Mr. Wiggle's alliance of awesomeness!
Also, just to note, it's possible to start 3-way alliances right away if you're smart about it. Each person can initiate contact with one other in a day.
So, let's say, I PM LSB, (he is overjoyed that I did so) Then, LSB initiates contact with GMarshal, and then GMarshal initiates contact with me.

Congratulations, 3-way PM circle. :p
while this is technically legal, if LSB wanted to talk to you, it would have to go through GM first, since he cannot PM both GM AND you on the same day, as the rules are written.
unless darm exempts people from REPLYING to PMs already sent to you by someone else from your "one person a day" rule.
Hi guys, yes you may reply as much as you want. You may only INITIATE one conversation per day. Once you have initiated conversation, you can talk as much as you want until the day is over.
So a 3 way pm is possible for sure, but they must be kept in a pm (no irc, chat wall, etc).
I've got all the challenges ready, plus there will be a hidden immunity item this game.

No. That's essentially the same as a pm.
Also I am considering allowing unlimited pms during certain times. In survivor rules and situations often changes. I have 1-2 team challenges planned (teams will be RNG'd).
The other consideration I had was allowing unlimited pms, but you must whisper me at the end of the day whom you had the most pms with (highest intelligible word count).
Man, I kinda wish I was playing, all of the challenges are really fun. Here is a listing of the type of challenges there will be
clue-ish game impress the host game Prediction skill Mouse Skill logic puzzle Completely "luck" based game word puzzle Identify the movies sc2 or bw custom map

if you wait it out, you get keys 0.00000000001% of the time, if people are dumb

Lol that's because no one gets any value from someone else getting it. If you feel altruistic or you would be satisfied if someone you know got it, then this isn't neccesarily the case. In a small setting (11 people) alliances would make it interesting.
Phase always starts at 6pm PST (11am KST) and challenges are always issued 1 hour later, so if you want a headstart on challenges, it's a good idea to check at that time.
Awesome, ok we have 9 which is enough. If 2 more happen to sign up before day starts thats fine, otherwise we are starting in roughly 6.5 hours from now.
Ten contestants boarded the plane headed for a new journey. The chance for $5 million was a once in a lifetime opportunity for many and they were ready to play. The short plane ride from san francisco to the island in the middle of the pacific seemed short as players were busy thinking about strategy and going over the game in their head. “1 hour til touchdown in Hawaii” was announced by darmousseh, the host, over the loudspeaker. “Once we reach the big island, we will take a boat to the island. It will take 3 hours by boat to get to the final destination”.
Mr wiggles was nervous. He had never flown before. He sat anxiously fidgeting. LSB was calm and confident. He was a marine and had endured many trials before. He was a natural leader. Gmarshal was relaxed. In fact, at the airport they had confiscated a bag of weed from him. Jackal58 was confident. He enjoyed all kinds of games and was sure he could win this one. Amber[LighT] and Annul were laughing in the corner of the plane. It looks like they were watching a movie on their laptop. Coagulation seemed disturbed. He was talking to GGQ, the doctor, and they both felt like they knew each other in a different life and recalled some details about dying next to each other in a very explosive manner. LunarDestiny was quiet, in fact he was asleep. He had not talked to anyone at all. Incognito was scared in the corner, he had a note in his hand and was shaking nervously, he quickly ran into the bathroom where he stayed until 5 minutes before landing.
The plane landed most uneventfully, the 10 constants, the host and a small crew gathered on the boat and made for the remote island. After 3 uneventful hours, the contestants came off the island. “Ok, let’s make sure everyone is here, wait. Where is Incognito?”. A crewman quickly went onto the boat to check. A few minutes later he came out sweaty and exclaimed “He’s dead, someone slit his throat. I found a knife in the sink, but nothing else”.
“How unfortunate.” darmousseh said. “However, we cannot risk losing our ratings. All of you have signed an agreement already. You cannot leave this island unless you are kicked off.”
The group looked desperate, but this is what they signed up for. Risk death to get a chance for 5 million? A life changing amount might be worth more than you think.
Incognito is dead. You have a few hours of rest until the first challenge. You are NOT allowed to pm during this time, but may post freely until then. Gather your strength contestants. The first challenge is coming at exactly 18:00 PST. You will receive your role pm very soon.
Coagulation seemed disturbed. He was talking to GGQ, the doctor, and they both felt like they knew each other in a different life and recalled some details about dying next to each other in a very explosive manner
Unless anyone objects, I'm going to post the clues at 18:00 KST as well. No point in waiting an hour betweeen the post and posting the clues. That means clues in about 2.25 hours.

Good morning. I hope your first night was not rough. I realize that many of you are excited about the first challenge, but let’s get a few things out of the way
Immunity Update First thing to tell, there is a hidden immunity item in the game. The way of getting the item is only known to me. Figure it out for yourself if you want it.
Serial Killer Investigation Second, we have begun an investigation into person who killed Incognito. We found part of a torn up note inside of Incognito’s pocket. It appears it was torn in a few pieces, but we only have one so far. It reads: “Born in a hut, I was raised for war. At a young age I strived for battle. Every victory brought me closer to becoming god. When I became a man, I traveled across the sea, searching for victory. I struggled, but I conquered whenever I could. I gave no man respect least he deserved it.”
Now for the part you are waiting for.
Challenge Welcome to the first challenge. This will be the easiest challenge and will be solved farily quickly. Here are a set of images, scenes from famous movies. To complete this challenge send me a private message identifying the names of all the movies (or series name) and also the common element (it could be a director, a location, an actor, etc). One of the clues is a distraction, but you must still identify the movie it is associated with. The first person to send me the correct answer wins. If no one answers completely correctly, then the person with the most correct answer will win. It’s important to be both quick and accurate as I will only accept one answer from each person. If there is a tie breaker that cannot be resolved, the one who had the worst results will be sent off the island. Here are your five clues. You have 24 hours to solve the challenge.
People not participating are welcome to send me the answer as well. You will be mentioned in the thread
During this phase you may start a conversation with one person per phase. You must pm me the name of that person. You are welcome to discuss the challenge and share answers if you wish. You may communicate for the next 24 hours freely with that person. Simply send me a short message something like "PM buddy: Incognito". You can assume I receive the message and start pming right away.
Transformers Bladerunner American Graffiti Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
The common element is Harrison Ford acted in the last four.
He is immune from being voted off the island in the next phase. You will receive notifications shortly if there are private messages going on (1 person witnesses each time 2 people want to pm).
You may say anything you want in the thread as long as it doesn't have to be deichpered with a key or code. No binary or encoded messages, however, you can use references.
"Everyone except the immune person will vote someone off the island. This is completely up to the group. In case of a tie, the person that has immunity will make the final decision. If there is still a tie, then the person who completed the challenge last will lose. In the final event of a tie, the two players will be given a task to do and the one to complete correctly first will win."
wat
if there is a tie, immunity breaks the tie. why would there then be another tie?

If no one wins the challenge, then there can be a tie, it's highly unlikely to occur.

Yeah, that works too. There's only like 1 more challenge where no one might win. All the other challenges are more like competitions.

I'm not always stupid but when I am I excel at it. What clue?
Serial Killer Investigation Second, we have begun an investigation into person who killed Incognito. We found part of a torn up note inside of Incognito’s pocket. It appears it was torn in a few pieces, but we only have one so far. It reads: “Born in a hut, I was raised for war. At a young age I strived for battle. Every victory brought me closer to becoming god. When I became a man, I traveled across the sea, searching for victory. I struggled, but I conquered whenever I could. I gave no man respect least he deserved it.”
He was born on the small island of Corisca, in the Mediterranean. His parents were nobility, so I'm not too sure about the hut.
At a young age I strived for battle.
He was very interested in warfare from youth, attending military academies in France as well as the most prestigious at the time, l'École Militaire in Paris.
Every victory brought me closer to becoming god.
As Napoleon became more distinguished as a military leader, he also gained more power. Besides eventually becoming emperor of France, I think he had a pretty big ego.
When I became a man, I traveled across the sea, searching for victory.
This might refer to Napoleon's campaigns in Egypt, fighting against the British. This is after his first military successes, so the "becoming a man" part, and could be that he was searching for more military opportunities. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Campaign_in_Egypt_and_Syria
I struggled, but I conquered whenever I could. I gave no man respect least he deserved it.
The code forbade privileges based on birth, allowed freedom of religion, and specified that government jobs go to the most qualified.
This sounds a lot like giving men respect based on if they deserve it, not giving it to them based on birth or privilege, but on ability.
This is just if it's someone famous like you are thinking, because I'm not sure who this could relate to. This also kind've goes with the game being set on an island too, as Napoleon was born, and later was exiled to, the island of Corsica.
I like your analysis Mr. Wiggles, however the hut thing is throwing me off, my original thoughts led me to Alexander the Great, but he didn't grow up in a hut either, which made me discard him. I'm going to keep looking for generals and soldiers of humble origin

With Mr. Wiggles winning the first challenge, he is immune to votes and will not able to vote unless we need a tie breaker. Everyone else please send me your vote along with a brief message about why you voted that person in a pm. 2 random messages will be read aloud. (no names given)
You have 24 hours to vote.
Questions for tribal council
Also, I have randomly selected 4 people to answer questions in the council. You must answer these questions in the thread.
Evening 1 questions:
GGQ Who do you think is going to get voted off?
Amber[LighT] What is your #1 reason for voting for whom you did?
LunarDestiny Who is the most dangerous person to keep around?
jackal58 Who do you think is the serial killer?

PM's are reset every 24 hours. If you wish to PM with someone again whisper me the name.
Well I suspect that you want only a single name... but I'm going to say either LSB or annul; players that are probably seen as a threat by most of the survivors.
If your not in a circle, vote off Annul. Lets say he has 4 people in his circle, tomorrow there will be 7 people in the island, they they will hold majority, and then he will kill you.
I'd also say to vote for annul. He has a circle of 4 already. Tonight, the votes might be 4-4. After that, the votes will be even more skewed in his favour. If you don't want one alliance to dominate the game already, I would say to cast your vote for annul.
my alliance was formed in response to yours. like, thats the only reason i did this, since i saw one leg of the triangle discussed pregame and i knew it was happening in full (someone else saw another leg of it). so i figured you had 3 already and were gonna draw people in, so i better get to 5 before you all did
guess what? i did. =)
so the 5 of us will continue to progress and when it's only us, we fight it out
if someone betrays me, sure. just know that there is already a stronger circle of 3 in wiggles/lsb/gm... so whoever the 2 are that go over there... IF people betray my alliance... are going to just be voted out when there are 5 left and so you will lose anyway
Hi, I'm just going to stay here in my corner, worrying about insignificant things like the MASS MURDERER that is on the loose, although I agree the annulial league must go down.
Actually the idea of one big circle is a good idea. The SK will also get a kill so the big circle is still at risk, though that means each person in the big circle will still have allegiance to the other members through death, especially since they were never even back-stabbed.
Like the OP says, making friends in this game is key to winning. Wish I saw that sooner t.t
Oh and the SK should be figured out over the next few days. The goal is to just make sure he's not one of the last 2.
And it ultimately comes down to the big circle to not only win challenges but to also stick together as a group until they need to back stab. By then it's logical for all 5 to realize that the only way for them to find the SK is to split up and go through the others in their alliance.
Though those members shouldn't feel like they were duped in any way by this point. They would screw themselves over in the end by acting like that.
alright, all you enjoy dying over the next few days, do you not realize that if you take out the best clue hunters then you reduce your chance of finding the SK? I guess the big circle has a deathwish

The nightkill will tell a lot who is the SK. With the clues additional clues available each day, we are damn noob if we still can't figure it out.
(if you were voted off, dead people can't vote, sorry.)
Kinda makes it harder... though it's obviously important that the group that does not get killed off stays only for vote-offs, so sticking with the SK might actually benefit the group overall...
i think a lot of shit will become more obvious tomorrow. a 2nd clue set and the SK kill revealed (unless LSB is SK!) will prolly push us into obvious directions
annul, I'd say to remember that the winner is voted. By setting up this alliance of 5, you're almost ensuring that you will lose the votes of everyone not in the alliance in the end. And as its ringleader, you're probably going to pick the people to kill off from the five as well, losing their votes also. Your endgame isn't looking very good.
Annul only start this alliance of 5 because you, Gmarshall, and LSB formed a quick 3 alliance. If your group reaches 5 and I am part of the leftover 4, then that is GG for me.
Only way to countering you guys is to get the majority (5).

Tribal Council Voting
As the challengers made their choices one by one, our audience witnessed some shocking votes to go around.
One contestant declared "I voted LSB because that is the plan", while another said "Annul because wiggles my master demands it".
The votes were counted.
LSB LSB LSB annul LSB annul annul LSB
Final Results With that, LSB the Survivor has been voted off the island. LSB will still be able to particiapte in the final vote. LSB, you may say one farewell to the group and then the boat is waiting to take you home. You will be back for the final vote, so be prepared
Beware of the Night
Nightime quickly approached and everyone went to sleep, but not all was quiet. A scream in the middle of the night in the forest. Annul was found bound to a tree half eaten but dead. He was soaking wet, and the ferocious animal was heard scurrying in the distance. A quick glance revealed the animal was a rabid camel. Darmousseh the host grabbed his handgun and a flashlight, tracked the beast down and shot it, attached to the animal was a note, a part of a letter in a similar handwriting to the earlier one.
A sacrifice was neccesary. Sacrificing my closest allies, I surpassed the most high. It was my greatest battle, but also my greatest disappointment. I had allies still, but I could not overcome anything else. I was desperate.
Annul the Survivor is dead
Challenge: APM Matters
There are seven of you left and today is a challenge of a different kind. Today we will be testing your quickness and agility. Each challenger is to complete a test and submit their results.
In this skill test are 5 different challenges. You are to complete this test, take a screenshot of your results and send the results to me in a pm. Only one category will count, but you will not know which category. You may complete the test as many times as you wish, but I will only take your first submitted result. If you are caught cheating by photoshopping the screenshot, or using a macro, etc, then you will be shot and modkilled along with a possible punishment.
You have 24 hours to submit your results.
PM Rules update
I have found the PM rules to be cumbersome and not really helpful. You may pm freely with anyone you choose. No one will be notified of anything.
I actually think the SK is in the annul alliance. If you think about it, they have a numbers advantage over us. It was 5-4, now if alliances stay the same it's 4-3. This keeps the number advantage, but also reduces the numbers for SK after. This makes sense if the SK believes his alliance will stay together, because it will eventually get to 2-1, and if he lives through that vote he wins.

I like this reason. If the SK is in annul's group of 5, then it will be advantages for the SK to keep the two side fairly close and eventually get to 2-1...
If the SK is in our group, why would he killing the person who is most responsible creating the group and the person who is most likely to hold the group together. Man, if SK is in our group, there are 3 other better targets.
Hmm... so you think annul dying is because the SK is in our group??? If the SK is the other 4 people. who do you think the SK will kill? LOL, annul of course. Need to break the Pentagon or he will get lynched soon.

That gets pretty WIFOM though, because following your exact reasoning, the SK could've come to the same conclusion. Kill annul, and make sure your alliance stays together. This will make sure you guys keep voting us out, and will keep the suspicion away from him.

Notice how dead players can't vote. If the SK is within our group, he just killed one of his voter. There are two side and if SK is trying to use this method to stay alive, then at the last day of 1-1. He would have killed most of his potential voters and the other person would receive the full 3 votes from the lynched.

To win as the serial killer you must be on the island on the last day. You will immediately kill the only other person left on the island. It is important to vote off the serial killer before the last day.
The SK doesn't care about votes. He wants you guys to vote us while he kills you. Then your alliance will take him to the end, and he autowins if he makes it to the final two.

Oh, that is correct. SK don't care about the final day vote. I'll retract that.
But it still doesn't explain annul's death is because it was caused of a person in the group. Again, if SK is not a person from the group, the best thing to do is also killing annul.
Now I do find this disturbing... A sacrifice was neccesary. Sacrificing my closest allies, I surpassed the most high. It was my greatest battle, but also my greatest disappointment. If the SK is in the group, he wouldn't be desperate but scheming of some sort.

Like I said, we get a problem with circular reasoning. Outside the group the SK will kill Annul. Inside the group he will realize someone outside the group would kill Annul. Same outcome.
Good catch with the clue though. It hints he might be in your group. Maybe the last part has to do with immunity though? Was there anyone in your alliance who was having lots of trouble with the immunity question and was just doing miserably? That might explain that he has allies still, but he can't overcome the immunity, because the SK can't kill the immune. So maybe he's desperate to win the immunity? Or he's desperate because he can't win the immunity and needs it so he can kill whoever he wants? Did anyone send in an answer to yesterday's challenge that was incorrect, or did they ask a lot about it and were having troubles?

Tribal Council Mr Wiggles is immune. If you wish to use your immunity idol, then please do so according to the instructions I sent you. You have 24 hours to vote.
Like others, I have been looking at the clues left in the day posts. The Serial Killer is a serious threat to everyone in this game, as if he makes it to the final two, he will automatically win.
To win as the serial killer you must be on the island on the last day. You will immediately kill the only other person left on the island. It is important to vote off the serial killer before the last day.
This means that if the Serial Killer makes it to the end, everyone loses, there is no final vote, and all the effort people have put in to the challenges and their alliances will be for naught.
This is why I decided to seriously look at the clues and try to unveil the identity of the Serial Killer, as I fear I he may indeed make it into the final three.
This is my analysis as it pertains to LunarDestiny.
It's a little ironic, because I actually started looking at the clues in a different light when LD himself posted that the second day clue might infer the killer was in the larger alliance. I then decided to look at people's profiles, because that was how the other large clue game I was in worked. (Mafia XXXVI). I'm also considering that parts of the clues are flavour and we just need to look at the meanings intended to really solve them. All my evidence is from behavioural analysis and LD's profile. + Show Spoiler +

The striving for battle from a young age refers to Lunar playing mafia for a while, and being somewhat experienced. He played a lot, and is decently skilled at the game. Searching for victory, struggling, and conquering wherever he could all refer to Lunar Destiny's self-proclaimed win-streak in his profile. Giving respect to no one unless they deserve it could refer to his roleclaiming, being brave enough to do that while being wary of others in the game.
A sacrifice was neccesary. Sacrificing my closest allies, I surpassed the most high. It was my greatest battle, but also my greatest disappointment. I had allies still, but I could not overcome anything else. I was desperate.
"A sacrifice was neccesary. Sacrificing my closest allies, I surpassed the most high." He kills his ally, annul in order to further himself in the game, whittling down both alliances at the same time.
"It was my greatest battle, but also my greatest disappointment. I had allies still, but I could not overcome anything else. I was desperate."
This might refer to his mention of a losing streak in mafia, and then missing two games from his profile
After many years I still struggled and slowly grew stronger yet again, but I was disappointed. I grew angry, cursing my enemies. The time had come. I have come home, never to return to that place. I still strive for war, but my enemies are weak. I have no friends or enemies any longer.
"After many years I still struggled and slowly grew stronger yet again, but I was disappointed." Getting stronger might refer to his winning immunity for the night preceding the clue, and possibly winning the hidden idol as well. The reason he's disappointed is because his plan failed. He wasn't aware that we were going to kill Jackal, and so he put in his hit on Amber, with the understanding that I'd be voted out, keeping the alliance numbers close. This fits in with the kills, and particularly the next part of the clue.
"I grew angry, cursing my enemies. The time had come. I have come home, never to return to that place. I still strive for war, but my enemies are weak. I have no friends or enemies any longer."
He's mad, because he was completely blindsided by the Jackal vote. A lot of the better players have been voted out and killed now too, so that might be the "my enemies are weak" part. Also, his alliance is effectively broken now, so "I have no friends or enemies any longer", refers to the fact it's a free for all.
All of this together, leads me to conclude that LunarDestiny, is indeed the Serial Killer.
Tribal Council The challengers looked nervous, not because of the fear of getting kicked off, but because of their fear of staying. The Serial Killer was still loose and they had hoped their analysis would help them kick him off before taking any more risks.
The players individually quietly walked up. The past few days had been nervewracking. One of the challengers pronounced "ITS TIME FOR SK TO DIE"
The votes were in
LunarDestiny Mr. Wiggles [he is immune so it counts for nothing] Gmarshal LunarDestiny.
The immunity idol remained unused.
With that LunarDestiny the Survivor was cast away. A sigh of relief, but also a sigh of disappointment was heard before he left.
As the night settled, the final 4 bunkered themselves down as best they could. They constantly watched each other to see if the serial killer would make a move. No one slept. When the sun rose they found that Gmarshal the Survivor was motionless against a tree. It appeared he died many hours ago and simply was sitting there dead the entire time. That sent chills down the players spines. An autopsy would reveal he died to poisoning in his sleep.
Challenge Three challengers remaining. There are no more challenges remaining, no more immunity except the hidden immunity idol. You have 24 hours to vote for the next person to be removed from the island. If the Serial Killer is still on the island after the vote he will win. Good luck figuring out the clues.

That doesn't make any sense. If I was SK, I wouldnt have gotten in contact with Amber to betray our alliance. It has to be one of you two, that weren't in the alliance.
One the one hand, Coagulation admitting he's the SK in the thread would be exactly the sort of WIFOM shit that he'd do.
On the other hand, Wiggles has been working much harder than anyone else to win the immunity challenges, which makes me feel like he's sure that he'll win as long as he doesn't get voted off.
Hmm well I just looked back through the thread and for the hidden immunity idol, Coagulation never even submitted a picture. I know I didn't win it, which means Wiggles must have won it (unless LunarDestiny or GMarshal got it, but darmousseh made it sound like the idol is still in play), which means he can activate it today and become immune to this vote, right? Which means if he's SK then he's already won.

I can tell you that I didn't win the hidden immunity idol, and that I've been working hard for immunity, because I'm normally pretty decent at clues, so I was expecting the SK to kill me to stop me from any kind of analysis. That's also why I was pretty surprised to live through the night I didn't have it, and so I made my analysis of Lunar, hoping to kill the SK before the final three. I'm looking at the clues again now, because neither of you two have posted terribly much in the thread, so that's mostly what I have to work with.
So the Serial Killer has indeed made it into the final three. My last clue analysis didn't seem to be very accurate, but I'm going to give it another go, and it should be easier with there being only two people to look at. Judging by their profiles and my general suspicions, I think I can narrow it down to one person, whom I think is the Serial Killer.
As such, here is my analysis of the clues as they relate to GGQ. (Again, all evidence comes from profile and behaviour/strategy theory). + Show Spoiler +
Hey all, Canadian English student here. Sucked at Broodwar (was a top player in aoe3!) but loved watching it, Bisu for Bonjwa! Thx Tasteless for bringing me into the Starcraft scene.
Playing SC2 now, at least in theory. Reached Diamond for a bit, now back in platinum with thousands of bonus pool points lol. I'll get back in it sometime soon, i hope. Protoss power!
Born in a hut, I was raised for war. At a young age I strived for battle. Every victory brought me closer to becoming god. When I became a man, I traveled across the sea, searching for victory. I struggled, but I conquered whenever I could. I gave no man respect least he deserved it.
"Born in a hut, I was raised for war. At a young age I strived for battle." In GGQ's profile he mentions that he's a student, and that he played BW in the past. This would seem to imply that he played BW when he was younger, thus the striving for battle from a young age. Also, for a lot of people, their goal playing BW was to become the very best, like no one ever was. So this could be the part about becoming closer to being a God with every victory.
The next part, "When I became a man, I traveled across the sea, searching for victory.", I think may refer to two things. First, it might refer to playing Koreans in BW, "travelling across the sea" in a virtual sense. It might also refer to where GGQ says "was a top player in aoe3!", because the game was centred around the colonial area of the Americas, and so it might be talking about the Europeans traveling across the sea to colonize America, and where the game is set.
"I struggled, but I conquered whenever I could. I gave no man respect least he deserved it." This might refer to BW being an exceptionally hard game, and that GGQ says he wasn't very great at it. The part about respect though, I find very fitting, because manners were an important social aspect of BW, along with respecting other players.
A sacrifice was neccesary. Sacrificing my closest allies, I surpassed the most high. It was my greatest battle, but also my greatest disappointment. I had allies still, but I could not overcome anything else. I was desperate.
I'm still convinced that this is pointing out that the Serial Killer was part of the "pentagon". GGQ killed off a member of his alliance to keep the numbers close for the endgame, and this is why it talks about sacrificing "my closest allies".
About where it says not being able to overcome anything else, I think it might have to with the part in GGQ's profile where he says "Reached Diamond for a bit, now back in platinum with thousands of bonus pool points lol.". He calls himself a top player from AOE:3, but now he is unable to penetrate into the higher skills of SC2, I could also see how this could be seen as "disappointing".
After many years I still struggled and slowly grew stronger yet again, but I was disappointed. I grew angry, cursing my enemies. The time had come. I have come home, never to return to that place. I still strive for war, but my enemies are weak. I have no friends or enemies any longer.
Struggling and growing stronger yet again might be in reference to GGQ mentioning he has thousands of bonus pool points. He says "I'll get back in it sometime soon, i hope.", so this might be a look into the future at how it will be a long time before he manages to spend all the bonus pool points.
When it says "I have come home, never to return to that place", it might be meaning that he made the switch over to SC2, and has stopped playing BW. The "I still strive for war" also refers to the fact that he has expressed an intention to continue playing SC2 in the future.
The final sentence, "I still strive for war, but my enemies are weak. I have no friends or enemies any longer", I still think points out that he has broken his own alliance. I'm not sure why now, maybe to go along with Amber thinking Jackal was SK, and not seem suspicious trying to push the vote in a different direction. I also believe "my enemies are weak" still refers to many of the experienced players being killed and voted out very early in the game.
Also, one thing that made me want to look a little closer at GGQ was his responses to the last two kills.

I put this off to just being disappointed, but now that I think he may indeed be the SK, the first post seem a little apologetic, when he really didn't need to be, and then almost artificially surprised at who's left in the game in the second one. He's also seemed to have been lurking a fair bit, and this may have been to avoid suspicion.
This is my final attempt to try to out the Serial Killer, GGQ, and the reasoning behind my suspicions. If I'm wrong and coag is the SK, then I'm going to stop clue analyzing for a while out of shame, but I don't think so.

This rests on you now Coag to vote who you think is SK, but I think it'd be awesome to go to the final two together :p
Nice analysis, it's all bullshit though. Given that Coagulation has already said he think it's me, nice job jumping on the wagon. If Coagulation is SK, then gg, but I'd still bet that it's you, Wiggles. If you weren't the SK you would have been killed by him last night instead of GMarshal.
And I've already addressed that if I was SK, there was no reason for me to betray my alliance. Optimal play would have been to keep the alliance together and vote you guys off while killing my allies. That's the whole reason I betrayed the alliance; I thought jackal58 or LunarDestiny was SK doing exactly that.

I had immunity last night so I couldn't be killed by SK...

Original Message From GMarshal: Do you want to try to coordinate our votes against the square of doom?
I've actually been thinking you might be the SK for a while. After the Jackal vote though, I got distracted by Amber's suspicions of Lunar, and thought that he might have been it, as he's been more active in the thread than you.

You were approached with suspicion of a Serial Killer. With only one person jumping overboard, we would already have had enough votes to have majority, so it would behoove you to follow with Amber, making it look like you were helping hunt down the SK. Then you killed Amber, the one person who had expressed definite suspicion of the Serial Killer. This is what made me look at Lunar more closely and set me off on his trail instead. I thought that was a slip up on his part after he had caught wind of Amber's betrayal, and killed him for his suspicion, or that he had unknowingly killed Amber thinking it was me who would be voted off and still wanting close numbers. You however, made it seem that you were helping find the Serial Killer by voting for Jackal, while killing Amber to cause more suspicion against Lunar and getting rid of the only person who was looking closely for the SK at the same time.

Heh, I actually had to go back to the first post to confirm that immunity makes you unkillable by SK. That's weird.
Well one of you is a survivor, but I don't blame you for voting for me tbh. I havent done shit in the thread, and Wiggle's analysis of the clues is so good that I actually went back and checked my pm to confirm that I wasn't actually the SK.
If the SK is Wiggles, then gratz man, you deserve to win this game. If it's Coag, then =/
I've looked at both of your profiles and I have no fucking idea how the clue is supposed to relate to either of you. But you both seem determined to lynch me and I doubt I'd win the final vote anyways after betraying the alliance so w/e
and regardless if hes sk or not if im going to final 2 with wiggles i will lose cause everyone would vote for wiggles anyway if he was not SK so my chances are better with GGQ cause he didnt play as well
Coag, as much as you love me, I think you made it to the end by being lurkerish.
Annul was starting a big war/alliance ---> Dead Amber was trying to solve the SK clues ---> Dead Then between you and GMarshal, SK prolly thought he was more dangerous ---> Dead
I was only vulnerable the night the SK killed the person who said he was looking at SK clues, besides that I've been immune.
If I was SK, I think it would be better for me, especially the last day, to just lurk, since people were suspecting and planning on voting Lunar anyways, instead I tried my hardest to win the crossword puzzle so I could make it here to the final three and not get killed.
Do you think SK would make himself a big public target and try to win all the challenges, or do you think he would lurk until the end, and have no one notice him all game?
I'd rather live and go to the final two than vote off the wrong person and get killed.
I have no idea how the clues fit tbh, i've looked at them in relation to both of you guys and have no idea what they are supposed to mean. I only know that your interpretation of them is wrong because im not the SK.
I'm more inclined to believe SK is coagulation by behavior than you, which is why I haven't jumped at the chance to vote for you with him. But I will if you refuse to switch because if I die, the SK wins.
I'm going to stick by my analysis I think. If coag isn't the SK, then GGQ is, and I don't think coag is the SK. The clues also seem to fit GGQ pretty good. People can say anything in the thread. =/
I was afraid you'd say that Wiggles. Well, if you won't switch, then I have no choice but to trust Coagulation. Coagulation, I am not the Serial Killer. I am a survivor. If you are not a filthy lying murderer, which I doubt, please don't fail. Switch and vote Wiggles with me.
##unvote Coagulation ##vote Mr Wiggles
If the remaining survivor doesn't vote with me, you lose. I'll just get voted off the island... but you will get murdered by the SK. Just saying.

This looks like a desperation move. I pegged you with the clues, and you've been squirming to turn me and Coag against each other for the last little while. I'm entirely convinced you're the SK now, the clues fit, and your behavior does too.
The clues have nothing to do with me, and I'm trying to turn you against each other because I don't want to lose after you two went after me right away. A survivor trying not to lose looks a lot like a SK trying not to lose.
Of course it's a desperation move. I admitted that in the post. Theres like 3 minutes left. The other survivor is out of time. Switch now or forever hold your peace.
Coagulation I hope you're reading this. Wiggles has been trying incredibly hard this whole game. He's been far more invested than any other player, which suggests that he had the most interesting role in this game (SK).
Plus if you go to the final vote with him, you're going to lose anyways.
A loud and cumbersome finish to the season quickly approached. Millions tuned in to hear the final vote.
GGQ GGQ Mr. Wiggles
With that, GGQ the survivor was voted off. Only 2 contestants remained. The contestants previously eliminated were invited back to the island to cast the final votes.
In the morning, the cast off contestants were seen on the boat off the shore. Mr. Wiggles smiled an evil grin. The boat exploded into a million pieces. GGQ, Jackal58, and LSB's body parts were flung into the air along with the crew. Darmousseh the host didn't even have a chance to look back before he was stabbed through the heart. Coagulation cried "You bastard, you killed everyone." Mr. Wiggles replied "Not yet, may my sacrifice to the godman IdrA be eternal." With that Mr. Wiggles slit Coag's thoat and was never heard from again. Ironically the finale had the highest rating of all time as the camera men stood there shocked and quickly fled.
Coagulation, GGQ, Jackal58, and LSB the survivors are dead
Mr. Wiggles the Serial Killer has killed everyone.

The person in the clue is idra and the character his name comes from indrajit. indrajit defeated god etc. The rest is based on idra's journey from the US, to korea, back to the US. Check mr wiggles profile.
2. The PM rules at the beginning kind of made alliances impossible to keep secret, I think unlimited was better. Maybe they could be tweaked a bit, the limitation made it more strategic, but everyone knew who was talking to who.
3. The challenges were pretty decent, I just have a lot of free time on my hands.
4. No idea. It was able to be manipulated though. :p
5. More people! Maybe reward challenges for fun, dunno how you could implement it. It would be really awesome to see a full size one with tribes too haha.
6. I dunno.
7. Yes.
8. Lots of fun, I think it would be really awesome with more people in it too, would make alliances a bit more varied and interesting.
1. Yeah, but not intensely as you could probably tell by my lack of posts in the thread. It was fun but not terribly engaging.
2. I didn't mind the restrictions myself, but I didnt use pms much anyways.
3. The clicking/reaction challenge was the only challenge I really enjoyed tbh.
4. Fucking impossible. Still have no idea what it's about.
5. Challenges that I would enjoy more!
6. Nah, I really should have known it was Wiggles. There were a few little things that made me sure it was him, but I kept convincing myself I was wrong. Shoulda voted for him right away.
1. Did you enjoy the game? Yes, yes I did. 2. Do you think the pm rules at the beginning were ok, or was unlimited better? Pm rules were good, they should be more restricted to avoid the giant alliance of doom, or prohibited entirely to force people to play in thread 3. How difficult/easy were the challenges? Some were good, others not so much, I personally hate crossword puzzles so that a challenge I would ditch in the future, other than that it was good 4. How hard was the clue to figure out? Well I got it the night I did, but still people seemed to ignore it for the majority of the game 5. What changes would you make to improve the game? Something to encourage more posting in thread, the way the rules are set up it was almost entirely a PM/individual game, which made it more boring IMO
6. Was it too difficult finding the serial killer? Well I figured it the day I died, which meant I couldn't do much with it, if we would have had to post more it would have been easier
7. Would you play again? sure, time allowing
8. Any other comments need to force more thread participation, the every man for himself nature of the game discourages this, so it would rely on somehow changing the PM system, overall it was fun though
Just as an outside observer, I have to agree that the clues were too hard. Otherwise, the setup seemed to work pretty well though. At the very least, people seemed to be enjoying themselves and there wasn't too much in the way of negative drama. Why didn't the person with the hidden idol use it the last day though? Had they already died? What picture won it?

Not gonna lie, this looked really interesting.
I'll do it again probably if people are interested, hopefully we can do a mini with 15 people. If anyone wants to come up with challenge ideas that'd be great. I still have 3-4 we didn't get to use. I can always do flash games stuff since that is probably the most fun and maybe a sc2 thing if people kill the SK :p (We need an odd # so that the final day has exactly 3 people, but hard to do team games in odd numbers).
I think this game lacks conversation, at least in thread conversations.
Maybe make it no pm or something.
On day1, there will be a challenge and the top 3 winner (unannounced) will be pick masons. They have the abilities to add one person every night to their mason groups.
Then there will still be conversations on thread for those not in circle.
THIS SETUP IS A RIP OFF OF CALLER'S THREE KINGDOM MAFIA with clues and challenge.
Two SKs might be too much KP, I think. It depends how long people want the game to go. If you're banking on the SKs killing each other, or the clues being easier, then maybe. But for example, this game only lasted 4 game days, and in the end there were only 3 people who would be able to vote for the winner, which seems like a really low number. The SK does make the game progress faster though. If there's no SK, you're looking at 16 days of realtime gameplay for just 9 people. I guess you'd have to weigh the pros and cons, and maybe balance it a little differently.
The game starts off as a free-for-all, so I think that the also SK adds a nice dynamic to keep people from just making uneven alliances right off the bat like this game. If there wasn't an SK, it would have just been the alliance of 5 voting off the alliance of 4 all game, and that seems kind've boring. the SK forces people to be suspicious of each other and makes the alliances more dynamic.
I think the clues should be hard enough to give the SK a fair chance at winning. I can't really comment on the difficulty of them, but if they're all linked to one central idea, I think that's good. For example, I wouldn't have believed my own analysis just because it was jumping all over the place and making weird inferences into random things. Maybe if you made it clear that the clues come from the profile?
I can't think of any other win conditions for this game, but I have two other comments. I didn't really like how you couldn't vote if you had the immunity idol. I didn't really care, because I had a KP, but it seems like you almost get punished for having it. I can think of a situation where the alliances are even, and it would be people wouldn't want to win immunity because then the other alliance decides the vote. I also think it would be cool if you added some surprise factors into the game, like a double vote for the next night announced only at the beginning of the morning phase once in the game or something. The game seemed to play pretty predictably a lot of the time. This is because there's not really any scum, so people don't need to do analysis. This switches the focus of the game more onto general strategy and a bit of interpersonal skills. This is why the SK is important, because without him, people will just behave according to optimal game-theory, and this leads to people just doing what makes the most sense mathematically. For example, you can notice the change in this game, from just having the most numbers, to wanting to kill the SK, and then it got more emotional as we got closer to the end, because of his existence.
Excellent feedback guys. I really appreciate it and I think there are some great ideas.
I think the 1 Sk was good for 9 players since that meant 9 real days minimum. With 15 players, if there is only 1 SK and he gets voted off quickly, then the game will last almost a month. With 2 SK, the game will last at minimum 10 real days assuming the SKs don't kill each other. I'm also thinking that the Serial Killer could alternate until 1 dies. This way the KP stays at 2 the entire game until both Serial Killers are dead.
I really like how the dynamic changed in the game. The actual show gets more and more interesting over time and it makes it fun. It kinda sucks getting voted off right away though.
I have to disagree about immunity though. I think it's very important that the person with immunity can't vote since he cannot influence the vote as much as he likes and it isn't always the best strategy to win immunity. This is very important to keep in mind.
The thing I think can spice it up a little is by making it pair based. So you win if you or your partner win. This will mean people are communicating in the thread and people will try to identify pairs in order to eliminate them (since a pair wins at the very end). No pm's is probably the best though.
Also the challenges will be team based in a larger game. Day 1,2, 3, 4, and maybe 5 will be team challenges, and only after that will be individual challenges. So basically there will be teams of 2 (plus 1-2 SKs). Everyone will be split into 4 teams and then given team challenges and go from there.
I definitely was considering adding surprise factors but I didn't want to go too crazy for the trial run. I have some better ideas for the hidden immunity idol too.
