Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking.
This mafia game works slightly different than the normal one (read: Mafia), so I'll explain it a bit more. During the night mafia will collectively decide on and send in their hits to me, who they want dead (it's a good idea to discuss them during day so you know ahead of time). Any player with a special role that can act during the night must PM me their actions each and every night.
If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win the game. The goal for the townspeople is to lynch all the members of the mafia by whatever analysis, teamwork, or guile they have. The goal of the mafia, of course, is to kill the townspeople with murderous precision.
The game is typically very active and there are usually numerous walls of text to wade through. If you are not a person who likes reading then I highly suggest you don't play the game because it is essential to being informed within the game. I will not compensate for ignorance.

Trouble has come to the world of Pokemon. The dastardly Team Rocket has released a slew of brainwashed and evil Pokemon into the world to cause chaos and corruption. Pokemon all over the region have banded in an alliance to stop Team Rockets evil deeds. The newly formed Pokealliance has sworn to stop the evil from spreading but have become aware of Team Rocket spies amongst their ranks. In order to stop the alliance from falling apart, they must first out the scum amongst their ranks.
Mafia is a game pitting an uninformed majority versus an informed minority. The good Pokemon while plentiful, do not have information on their side. The evil Team Rocket Pokemon are limited in number but have the advantage of knowing the alignments of players in the game. This fact is the key to good analysis. Remember, this is a game of psychology and behavior analysis. A third uninformed party will enter the game on the first night.
Rules: Protocol, Etiquette, and Mechanics
Signups:
Signups are done in this thread simply by typing "/in". If the game is full but you wish to be a replacement type "/replace" and you will be added to a replacement list. Any modkill taking place during Day 1/Night1/Day 2 will result in a replacement instead.
I will not accept players that are in more than 1 game. I count a Mini Mafia as 50% of a game. So if you are in: 2 mini mafias OR 1 normal sized game OR 1 mini mafia game OR 0 games you are eligible to play. That count does not include this game. I will not accept players on Qatol's ban list.
Modkills:
A modkill is when a player is forcefully removed from the game (or replaced by another player) by a mod. This will result in a ban from future mafia games depending on the severity of your infraction. I am not afraid to modkill and I am very much inclined to modkill players who spam and flame. You will be warned on your first infraction but if you choose to ignore a mod warning you will be shown no mercy.
You will be modkilled for:
Flaming other players
Incessant spamming
Inactivity (failure to vote and/or failure to post once a cycle)
Cheating
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to) the following and will get you banned from future games:
1. Posting after death. You may have one goodbye post, but it may not contain any potential game-changing information.
2. Betraying your role and ruining the game for everyone by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account / checking their PMs / looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of your inbox. This is not a photoshop competition.
6. Posting any PM you receive from a host.
7. Editing posts. Editing posts is not allowed for any reason. The mods can see your edits, and if you are caught, you will look suspicious. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be owned.Please do not edit; this is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything.
Voting rules:
1. Voting is done in a separate thread, located here. Please keep votes there, and only votes. The third post of this thread will contain the vote count.
2. Please vote in the following format, to make it easier for everyone to read: ##Vote Qatol. While the bolding in itself is not necessarily needed, it makes it easier on everybody's eyes. Please bold. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I will update votes whenever I get the chance.
3. You cannot autochange your vote to the losing or winning bandwagon.
4. You may vote for yourself if you're crazy. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game.
5. In the event of a tie the person with the most votes first wins over the other person.
6. Voting is mandatory. You may not abstain.
Double Lynches:
They exist, you can use them starting Day 2. When you want to use one, just vote for using it the next day, in addition to voting for a person. If a majority wants Double Lynch, it will happen.
Communication:
With the exception of certain players, all communication is to be done in this thread. You may not send private messages to other players or communicate in any way on irc/IM/etc. about this game. We are using the honor system. If someone attempts to talk to you through PM illegally, please report it as this is cheating and ruins the spirit of the game.
Team Rocket are allowed to communicate through PM and other means.
Lynches:
Every day the town must "lynch" a target. This is done by voting in the voting thread. Pokemon do not get lynched, but rather returned to their Pokeballs and stored in Bills PC. For the sake of simplicity and familiarity it will be referred to as lynching but the flavor text will differ.
Clues:
There are no clues in this game. The goal of this game is to promote behavioral/post analysis as the main tool for hunting and catching mafia players NOT analysis of clues and objective circumstances.
Time Cycle:
This game will follow a loose 48/24 hour day/night cycle. During the day, voting will be open in a separate thread, and some roles with secret day actions will need to PM me their day actions. During the night, all roles with night actions will need to PM those to me. The official "time" for the cycle shift will be 1200 KST (TL time) or 7:00 PM PST/10:00 EST. I sometimes work late and there is a possibility this time is subject to change unless Coagulation can write the post. I will always err on the side of lengthening the day/night rather than shortening it. Please send all night actions to both myself AND to Coagulation.

Role List

In a game of Mafia, each player is assigned a role. Or in this case, each player is a certain Pokemon which is randomly chosen by the mod. Different Pokemon have different powers which may be used during the Night Phase but most have no powers at all. To use a power, you must PM me what you choose to do with your power at night.
For instance, if you are Alakazam you may send me the name of a player you wish to use your psychic powers on. I will send you the result when the night is over.
Pokealliance
The Pokealliance wins when all threats to it are eliminated (Team Rocket and Unknown Party)

Pikachu - You are Pikachu the plentiful and popular Pokemon! You have no night powers but your analysis is what will drive the town to certain victory. You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated. Good luck!
Raichu - You are Raichu, the much more suspicious and evil looking evolved version of Pikachu. You are Pokealliance aligned but when checked by Alakazam you will come up as being aligned with Team Rocket. You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated. Good luck!
Chansey - You are Chansey, the Pokemon that helps run the Pokecenter. You have the ability to protect and heal a player each night. If that player is hit they will survive and you will nurse them back to health. You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated.
You will be informed if you successfully save somebody and they will be informed that they were hit.
Cloyster - You are Cloyster, the shell Pokemon. Your powerful armor allows you to survive up to two night hits. A lynch will kill you instantly. You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated.
Alakazam - You are Alakazam, the most powerful psychic Pokemon in the Pokealliance. You can use your psychic powers to detect which Pokemon a player is. You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated.
Electrode - You are Electrode. During the night you can choose one player to place a Voltorb on. You have two Voltorbs and can later in the night switch one from its target to a different target but you can not place a Voltorb and switch one in the same night nor can you switch both Voltorbs in the same night.
When you are killed your Voltorbs will explode and kill the players they were on. You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated.
Mew - Your goal is to find and stop Mewtwo. You target a player at night. You will then get a result if they are Mewtwo or not. In addition, if that player is Raichu (the miller) you will be informed. If rolechecked you return "Alakazam". You win when all threats to the Pokealliance have been eliminated.
Team Rocket
Team Rocket wins when the town is less than or equal to the number of Team Rocket players AND the unknown third party is eliminated.

Gengar - Gengar - You are Gengar, Team Rockets most powerful Pokemon. Your ghostly powers confuse psychics and you may choose a Pokemon to appear as when checked by Alakazam. You win when Team Rocket wins.
Koffing - You are Koffing the common but reliable Pokemon. You have no special powers. You win when Team Rocket wins.
Weezing - You are Weezing, the evolved version of Koffing. At night you can release a special sleep gas that puts players to sleep. During the night you can choose one player to put to sleep and block their night action. You win when Team Rocket wins.
Mewtwo
The first manmade Pokemon, your power is far beyond that which your creators imagined. It is your destiny to rule the world of Pokemon. You win when you are the sole survivor.

Mewtwo - You are Mewtwo, the third party. You can not be killed at night or by voltorbs. Lynches will still kill you. Your goal is to be the last player alive. You have 1 night kill each night that can not be avoided, you must use it. You win when you are the only player left in the game. If rolechecked you will return "Pikachu". You can not be roleblocked by Weezing either.
To prove you are the most powerful Pokemon on earth, you must slaughter all in your path.
