Regarding orgo: In the end, it's really up to the hosts of the game you got banned in. If you're polite, apologetic, and respectful, you can often get them to be lenient (Example: first game I ever played I revealed my role PM. That would usually be a pretty big punishment, but because I was apologetic (I honestly didn't know it was wrong), flame let me off with a 1 game ban.) What you are doing is still being combative, argumentative, and generally annoying, so it's no wonder that the game hosts are fed up with you. It's great that you are trying to find evidence to support, and great that you care so much about mafia, but in the end, you're just extending the issue way past what it needed to me. Take your ban, serve out your games, and work harder in the future. It's really not that bad.

Regarding BM: No hosting for sure. I still remember the horror that was XXVII. That said, I'd support the one trial game followed by a 3 game ban if he stays on his best, politest, non-spammiest behavior.

Regarding BC: Standard 1-game ban and then move on? Or has he already been banned once before? It's not like he's the type of person who'd try to use his status to dodge a ban, so I assume he'll just take however many bans he deserves and move on.

Who would be responsible for deciding if BM's behaviour is up to snuff or not? beyond threats encouraging BM to be on his absolute best behaviour, what are the actual consequences if his posting is so-so, but not really horrible? Making a decision is easy in extreme cases, but I foresee a gray area here where no one will want to make a decision....

Well, BM has been playing at Mafiascum
I believe his ID is Furcolow http://mafiascum.net/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=13219, and if you want you can skim a few games.

This is one of the more recent games he is in, and it doesn't look like he changed much http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=15890&start=0
(to skim it fast, go to the end and change it so that "Display posts by user" option is set to Furcolow)

I could be wrong about BM being Furcolow though
Once is an accident. Twice is coincidence. Three times is an enemy action. Bus Driver can never target themselves I'm sorry

Nfi was modkilled in XXXVI for inactivity. His first modkill as far as I can tell, so that's a 1-game ban.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've had some real life stuff come up, but it has cleared up and I should be able to sit down and take care of everything tomorrow or the day after. I haven't forgotten you. Please stop PMing/IMing me asking me when when I will take care of things.

Amber[LighT], tube, and Mr. Zergling were modkilled for inactivity in TL Mafia XXXVI.

No punishment for Amber[LighT]. He warned us of his inactivity and asked for a replacement; we weren't able to find one.

Three games for tube, as he has been banned for inactivity before.

One game for Mr. Zergling, AFAIK he hasn't been banned before now.

Correct, tube has been banned for inactivity before and Mr. Zergling has not been banned before. Nice catch, I had forgotten to add tube to "People taken off the list". Updated

Bill Murray

From what I am seeing, it doesn't seem like very many people are open to him returning, but a few might be eventually. What I recommend is that when he sees a game he would like to play in with a host he thinks might let him play, he should PM that host using his Bill Murray account to ask them if they would be willing to let him play in their game (making sure they know his history - I will help him write up a stock PM to send to people if he wishes). If they are, then he should tell that host the name of his smurf account and play under strict probation (I can tell a small circle of players BM's smurf as well to help that host if necessary). That way he can play without other people aggravating the situation but still be watched carefully by the host. However, if he is ever banned again for any reason, I think we should just make it permanent. I'm tired of dealing with Bill Murray bans. Is everyone okay with such a setup?

Orgolove

It seems like there is a split between people who are willing to let him off with a warning:
LSB
Pandain
RebirthOfLegend
Ver
Foolishness

Those who think he should get a ban:
Qatol: 3 games
Flamewheel (host of that game): 2 games
Incognito (cohost of that game): 1, preferably 2 games
BloodyC0bbler: 1-2 games
dreamflower: 1 game
BrownBear: at least 1 game ("take your ban, serve out your games")

And people who didn't really weigh in on either side:
TheMango (not permanent - "this should act as a last warning" probably leans towards a short ban with the way bans are used on regular TL)
Node (will allow him to play in XXXVI - this might be leaning towards a warning?)
Coagulation (not permanent)
Annul (might be leaning towards a ban? talking about how saying "fuck" is disallowed)

Nobody (and correctly so) is advocating a permanent ban.

Because the list is pretty evenly split between those wanting a ban and those not wanting a ban, I think we have to side with the wishes of the hosts and give a ban. However, because there is so much debate about how much of a ban is appropriate or even whether a ban is appropriate at all, think the ban should be 1 game and orgolove being on a short leash in the future.

Orgolove has already willingly sat out TL Mafia XXXVI:
On January 20 2011 15:15 orgolove wrote:
/out. /in on the replacement list.

Unless my "situation" is resolved, I don't think I can concentrate on a game. Sorry.

With that in mind, I'm willing to count this towards his ban, so that just leaves him on a short leash after TL Mafia XXXVI finishes (I put him on the warning list to express this).

My apologies to everyone involved that this took so long.

New Policy

If I am too busy to deal with a complicated ban list situation (such as orgolove or Bill Murray), and Incognito is not too involved with the ban (so he wouldn't be able to do this for orgolove's situation because Incognito was the one who modkilled orgolove), I will be asking Incognito to run the discussion about the modkill. I will just record the ban based on his decision.

I am fine with that, and hes welcome allowed in my game when I host it.

It shouldn't really be that bad. Most of the time I'm not so busy I can't sit down for an hour and clean out the bans at least once or twice per week, especially if they are just inactivity modkills. However, the orgolove ban came at a really bad time for me and showed that there needed to be a backup plan for times when I am super busy.

SiNiquity and papapanda were modkilled for inactivity in XXXVI.

That's SiNiquity's first modkill, no notice, 1-game, etc. etc.

I'm unsure about papapanda. He sent the mods a PM just before he disappeared saying he was going to be AFK for the new year. On one hand, it's nice to have advance notice, even if it's not really that "advance". On the other hand, it sounded like something that was planned and should have been foreseen a lot earlier. I kinda want to give out a punishment, but I don't know if that's really the fair thing to do.

Yeah it sounds like they should both get the standard 1 game ban. I mean, it isn't like the New Year isn't marked on the calendar.... He should have known that this was going to happen. I see this situation as being the same as someone who has finals. You should give the host plenty of warning and really you shouldn't be playing if it is going to be this big of a problem. The advance warning thing has usually been used more for PMs that happen more in advance or situations where someone suddenly gets sick or something like that.

As usual, if anyone wants to comment on this, feel free. We can always change it if necessary.

Actually, scratch SiNiquity's ban. I forgot that I got a PM from him -- he said something personal came up, so I'm willing to let him slide.

1-game ban sounds fine for papapanda.
