Super glad for Farrah to win in front of his home crowd too, especially seeing how happy Rupp was for him. Awesome race overall. :-D Yea this is really the difference between last year and this. Last year at the WC's and when he ran his 10k PR Rupp was able to hang with the main pack until the last lap but was basically floored going into the bell lap and couldn't respond and dropped well back (8th i think at Worlds). This year, between working on his kick a little more with lots of sprintwork and 1500m races as well as a little extra strength Rupp really turned into a monster. Before the Olympic Trials he had PRs of 3:34/12:58/26:48 which is definitely credentials more than good enough to medal, however I still had some reservations as he had really never blown the doors of a great last lap. When he blitzed Lagat with a 52.63 at the trials (faster than the 800m guys closed their race) I was confident he had the complete package, and then some, to medal and was a top contender not only for a medal, but for a gold.

He looked comfortable and composed the whole way through tbh, it was a superb run.

She was already the it girl. Now she'll practically be royalty. They might make her a Dame now that I think on it =p
