Growing pains for a newcomer to break into the party of the rich and powerful. This is all I can say as a "whole". Controversies are everywhere, but Korea is one nation that doesn't let each one go without a fight. It seems to get the negative light in the western media (which we're more familiar with), but in Korean media, each effort is heralded as the country strives to improve in tournament standings. Just in this olympics alone, there's the swimming (Park Tae Hwan's overturned DQ), judo (3 white flags which meant the Korean athlete has won, a senior referee interrupts in and talks to the 3 match referees, then the 3 match referees all switch to 3 blue flags which sent the Japanese athlete through), and now fencing. Heartbreaking, and there are (and will be) lessons learned from each.

I'm sorry for the Korean fencer, but every decision would have felt wrong. They should show the milliseconds in the future.
