You can't pick a 'comp' where pretty much every champion has a completely different focus and expect to do well fighting 5v5 vs what is one of the best possible teamfighting comps. The only semblance of 'synergy' in C9's picks was Eve + Zyra ults. Their only chance to win 5v5s would've been baiting OMG into overextending to land a good Zyra/Eve combo on the turnaround, but that never happened due to misplays and lack of vision - nevermind that it's not something you can pull off reliably against a team as experienced as OMG, anyway.

Not to take anything away from Allen, his Thresh is amazing - but simply banning Thresh wouldn't have changed anything in that game.

I agree the team composition for c9 wasn't ideal for team fighting, mostly because of the Nidalee, but they were ahead. Balls especially would have wrecked them and he was hooked every time. OMG did poorly this game and even though they were a stronger team fighting composition I think they would have lost those fights if Allen didn't land those hooks.
