C9E with k0u looked very impressive indeed but maybe its a good thing for them that they will not have him in the promos. Reasoning is that by not having k0u SHC will 99% pick them and this way they will avoid Millenium which are miles ahead of SHC atm even without kottenx on kha.

C9E with k0u will smash almost every LCS team, if he could be able to play they would have rolled in Summer.
But C9E without k0u got rolled by Denial which got smashed by NiP yesterday and back in EUCS #2 Finals like Denial are silvers.

However, Lemondogs dropped MrRallez because of age being SNS back in Promotions and switched Tabzz, so probably they have good chance to find some new star.

The thing is that i saw high quality today in all C9E players, so i think they will use the time well to prepare with another jungler and will actually be the favorites vs SHC. I dont give much importance to k0u-less C9E losing to Denial because it was just a jungler swap for a game and roster swaps need time to settle in, especially in the playmaking communication heavy jungler role. Now they have enough time ahead to prepare and I expect from them to train hard with new jungler and beat SHC.
The Nip-M matchup will probably be like 50-50 but i hope the good M arrives and prevails. Millenium plays entertaining style and are nice guys while Nip n/c.
Denial doesnt seem like a team which can enter LCS but miracles can happen.

They only went back to k0u, because they were losing every game without him and weren't sure if they can finish top 3. Also Febiven quit school last month or so, because he is going all in and their only goal is LCS.

That doesn't really change what I said. Whether they went back to k0u because "first things first, let's get top3 in challenger and THEN try to find a jungler who we will be able to qualify with" or "other jungler didn't work and we have only few months to find and synergize with a new one, let's just scrap S4 and start preparing for S5" is mere speculation. Didn't know about Febiven, this makes my version of things less likely, unless he quit not to join LCS, but to train more so that he's best mid EU by S5... But yeah, you're probably right.

For all the shit C9.EU are getting for sticking with k0u, I think it's smart - they are practicing with a team that works well together and guaranteeing one of the best EU junglers to play with them in S5. Meanwhile they can keep racking up the challenger prizepool and it's not like they would do hot in LCS without k0u. I applaud long-term thinking.

I don't think that's the case. It's not like progamers have long careers to work around anyway, especially with form being so fickle compared to other sports. That is, I don't think they picked k0u so they can have a good shot of making it in Season 5. I think they picked k0u so that they will at least have the chance to make it in Season 4. That's a perfectly logical decision and it's much better than gambling with a whole new jungler to make it to promotions. They will have to gamble in promotions anyway, but they still hedged their bets in the best way available to them.

If they fail they will probably pick k0u up again like you said. It's not long term thinking, it's a safe hedge with no real negative consequences assuming they didn't believe they can make it with a new jungler anyway even with more preparation time.

Yeah, I'm probably thinking too far into it. Some people were implying that C9E was short-sighted because they were sticking with k0u until the end of challenger series unlike NiP who got Hulberto early and had time to synergise with him. That's why I was hoping that they thought they are a strong team and don't want to risk making changes. And therefore decided to play with k0u and risk not making S4 rather than try a new jungler and risk ending up with a worse lineup. But I guess prioritizing making top3 and worrying about getting a new jungler later makes more sense.

I don't think they won't get k0u back in autumn, it will be like Rekkles with Fnatic.

Nothing interesting, to be honest.
CA will be smashed again by C9T like back in NACS #2, and CLB will be 2x20 by LoMoQ.
I will laugh tho, if CA wins against CLB next day and Curse who finishes 6th will choose them to play against. And lose.

Still want Coast-C9T and EG-CLB, can challengers take their revenge or no.
And if C9E fails to get into LCS, i want C9T to get in just to see what did Jack and Dan create to cover their teams.

Team which was called "Children of I Will Dominate" will just smash IWD and send him to Challenger scene.
Exciting stuff.

You got this wrong, its CLB vs C9T and CA vs LMQ. And CLB vs C9T can definitely go either way, while CA will most likely end 4th.

This is truth.

Unless C9T has improved A LOT, it's going to be a toss up between clb and c9t. Both teams have their random burst of amazing play, then pretty mediocre follow ups afterwards. For C9T, I'm not sure about Yazuki at all. I've seen him play oddly. For CLB, there will always be westrice. He's been at this point so many times before, and his performances is really hit or miss. I don't know if it's nerves or what, but he doesn't always play the best when he is in these types of matches. I'm also not a fan of brokenshard as a jungler.

Did the teams have to sit in stony silence for the full however long (20+ minutes?) that pause was?

That must be a bit of a shock to the system for your first studio game~
