[S3 Worlds] Quarterfinals - Page 172

Two things as public notice:
1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] +
Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis!
No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum.

2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future.

I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat.
Enjoy the games~

As funny as this blue side OP thing, I've seen little to imply that it has had a big impact on these games. Teams have just taken turns doing shitty drafts and they happen to be doing it on purple side. I don't think it's an issue of first pick either. Stuff like TF and Nunu have just been weird picks.

No, don't you understand? When you get purple side, you automatically get hit by an aura of idiocy, and you make stupid picks and bad decisions. Vulcun vs Gambit, with the Baron throw, Vulcun was on purple. Fnatic vs Vulcun, with the fail level 1 and yorick pick, Fnatic was on purple.

And that's heavily padded by teams that were better than their opponents by enough to win regardless of side.

An interesting question is how many 1-1s between two teams in groupstage were blue side 2-0s.

Blue Side 2-0s: TSM v Lemondogs, OMG v SKT, Vulcun v Fnatic, Gambit v Ozone

Purple Side 2-0s: GGEU v TSM

Between teams that were close enough in ability to 1-1, blue side won an overwhelming amount of the time.

This all happened because TSM decided to pick Teemo on the blue side. They went out with a bang lol.

Two years in a row this is happening now?

edit: It's actually 3-0 for gambit vs Ozone as Gambit got blue in playoffs correct?

to further your point the first pick on the purple side 1-1 was thrown away on Teemo.

Analyst desk is a shame to the community. Talking about these mundane issues like drafting, laning, map control when they should be talking about how OP BLUE is.

I really want to know what went through Voidle's head when that first blood happened. This was so unbelievably misplayed, i can't imagine why that happened. Maybe that did not lose the game completely, but it was damn close.

I'm telling ya it's at least partially the camera angle. You generally need to look away from your base (because that's where the enemy is coming from), and blue side can see farther, and isn't blocked by their HUD.

It sounds like a joke but blue's had the win advantage since beta, and I've even seen it discussed in DotA (some players had mods that switched the camera angle for when they played top)

I get xpeke's twisted fate pick now, in game 2. He wanted lady luck on his side, but he didn't know lady lucky only works on blue side.
