Just like the olympics aren't just the US and China. If we're going by server region then Gambit Gaming should get a spot through CIS server, seeing as every player on Gambit is from CIS. The only difference is that Gambit is actually good enough to be in EU LCS.

I know, just explaining the general purpose of the wildcard. And for what it's worth, GG won the spot square and fair.

What is stopping a team like Azure Cats from being at worlds? They could say they from iceland by playing in some qualifier wildcard against crappy teams.

To be fair, this kind of rumor happens at every tournament. Scrim results only say so much.
