I think the solution would be to have the wildcard spot also be available to regions who didn't have three seeds already (SEA/CN, but limit them to one team sent per region) as well as the usual Turkey, LatAm, Brazil, etc. That way if there was ever a Latvian team at worlds they would have to beat a 3rd best CN/SEA team to make it here. I'm sure Yango would rather iG be here than Mineski or GG.eu.

I think the anger on gg.eu is misplaced. all this trash talk on them is totally uncalled for. There are going to be games where teams going to get smashed, gg.eu or not. To even say such shit like "I don't know what they're doing here", is so disrespectful. GG.EU are gonna go 0-8 and it's not gonna be close in any game So would any wildcard team most likely, but the other option is having a world finals without any teams from non-major regions which is also valid criticism. There is no good option here really. I'd like to see more involvement in "lesser" regions like South America or Africa with a standardised league like LCS put in place, but I don't know if that would be worth it for Riot From what i've been hearing it's potentially worth it for South America, well mostly Brazil. Brazil really should have their own league. I'm not sure how IEM Sao Paulo was for the area, but it looked like it was successful, so hopefully seeing more involvement from Riot will help the Brazil scene become at least good enough to send a team or two to worlds Well next world's there's a good chance they'll add 2 more slots for a full 16, and add a latin americas slot, and possibly one more to either china or korea. I'd like to see a spot for Latin America, and perhaps third-place China battling fourth-place Korea for the last one.
Why not a spot for Afrika? Maybe it helps develop their country.

There is no good option here really. The issue is that GG.EU is technically from a major region, they just were too shit to be a part of EU LCS and loopholed their way into being a "wildcard". Even if a South American team came here and lost every game, it would be better than GG.EU because they legitimately don't have an LCS tournament to qualify through. The problem is that Riot is trying to promote EUNE as a proper region. If they are like yeah, EUNE can play on EUW that doesn't help. I obviously see the point people are trying to make though. Then Gambit Gaming should be the EUNE qualifier.

If you want a wildcard tournament let any team (inc korean/us/eu, everything) play in it. You cant have a wildcard made up of 3e tier teams and give them a slot in the biggest most prestige tournament in the world. You don't earn a spot at Wimbledon by winning your local tennis league.

Cant we have a global ban in live threads on the "wildcard discussion"?

hmm the 2 people below me are more stacked in group A than me.

Although I have Dade and Homme in the other group so there's hope.

... The point is that the wildcard is for regions that don't have an LCS equivalent. Just like the olympics aren't just the US and China.
