i seriously don't get this gaminggear butthurt,

Even if you know it's Riot's stupidity that let them to be here, it still makes us mad to the point we start bashing ggeu. And maybe some of us thinks if ggeu is completely destroyed, then Riot might make a decent qualification process for the next season, where 3rd tier teams can't get into a 1st tier tournament just like that.

I think the anger on gg.eu is misplaced. all this trash talk on them is totally uncalled for. There are going to be games where teams going to get smashed, gg.eu or not. To even say such shit like "I don't know what they're doing here", is so disrespectful.

GG.EU are gonna go 0-8 and it's not gonna be close in any game

So would any wildcard team most likely, but the other option is having a world finals without any teams from non-major regions which is also valid criticism. There is no good option here really.

Like I said, Riot are fishing for an underdog like TPA or something ridiculous to come out of other regions and promote their region. This won't happen though because the game has become too professional and you need a lot of training before you're on this level. When your region gets completely stomped I don't see how this helps those regions.

I'd like to see more involvement in "lesser" regions like South America or Africa with a standardised league like LCS put in place, but I don't know if that would be worth it for Riot

From what i've been hearing it's potentially worth it for South America, well mostly Brazil.

Brazil really should have their own league. I'm not sure how IEM Sao Paulo was for the area, but it looked like it was successful, so hopefully seeing more involvement from Riot will help the Brazil scene become at least good enough to send a team or two to worlds

The no ban on orianna vs gaminggear was pretty stupid from pain gaming in wildcard finals. We can now see the other mid champions of mazzerin isnt really par with his ori.

except right now GG.eu really isnt a particullary good european team... Might oc they did win the wildcard tournament, I just wonder if LCS teams could try to win the wildcard tournament

Riot is bankrolling the NA and EU LCS which is insanely expensive, there's no way they will host another LCS themselves although they definitely will support if a local organization does one.

Well next world's there's a good chance they'll add 2 more slots for a full 16, and add a latin americas slot, and possibly one more to either china or korea.

The issue is that GG.EU is technically from a major region, they just were too shit to be a part of EU LCS and loopholed their way into being a "wildcard".

Even if a South American team came here and lost every game, it would be better than GG.EU because they legitimately don't have an LCS tournament to qualify through.

if it was pain getting crushed like this. okay, they had no chance of getting in any other way. but gg.eu doesn't stand on the same ground.

but w/e, regional imbalance is tough to handle in a tournament like this

The problem is that Riot is trying to promote EUNE as a proper region. If they are like yeah, EUNE can play on EUW that doesn't help. I obviously see the point people are trying to make though.
