As much as I like how Riot's handling the trash, you can't help feel a little bad for teams like mouz who have to find a sub asaply, etc. ;;

I thought that a week before the event was cutting it a little close, and with all the data against them I feel as though this could have probably been done a little sooner. Feel bad the players who didn't do anything wrong that are getting punished by proxy, I've always been against group punishment.

Haha nice. Riot taking out the trash. Especially satisfying that one of them was banned for DDOSing other players. I wonder what happens now with the tournament spot of that team though. Wil they quickly invite 3 other random players and just play there?

The first post states that TeamSoloMebdi is removed from the qualifier. Guess one team in Group D gets a free win for the group stage.

It is important to note that Team Solo Mebdi will not be able to field a team due to recent competitive rulings. Team Solo Mebdi was drawn into the #1 seed of group D based on the draw procedure found below. Since groups have already been announced and teams have been preparing for their announced opponents, the groups will not be redrawn; however, Group D will be reseeded since it would be difficult to justify a first round BYE for the #4 seed of any group. Since the remaining Group D teams have been preparing to play all other teams in their group, the remaining Group D teams are not prejudiced by the disqualification of Team Solo Mebdi. Group D after the reseeding: #1 MeetYourMakers #2 Mousesports #3 Elohell _________________ So Mouse and Elohell play, then the loser plays the loser of MYM vs winner.

So group D is most likely MyM and mouz? The second team in that group is probably one of the weaker in the tournement and I would be surprised if they qualify

It might suck for the other two, but such is life in a team-game. To some extent you are responsible how your teammates behave as well, and can be punished by their actions. In general I approve of Riot trying to make sure that they people playing in "their" league adhere to a certain standard of behaviour (even if I disagree with some other aspects of the tribunal).

If i were on a team with one of those who just got perma-banned i'd be bummed out. Must suck! Imagine TSM, the 2 people who now just lost their opportunity to play the qualifiers that could earn them a salary and the chance to play with the best of the best in EU. I do agree, that the people who got banned deserved it 100% and i'm happy that RIOT took action, it's just very sad that it's happening so late.

I agree the timing isnt the best but honestly if you play with darkwin/wizikx and people got banned before the tournement, do you really think that they will be allowed to play, really? With linak and shook there atleast was the slightest possibility that riot would allow them (on a sidenote Wewillfailer isnt the most mannered player either) So yes timing isnt good (they could have seen that instantly after the qualifiers) But TSM wouldnt be allowed to play anyway if 3/5 of your players are disqualified your team would get DQ aswell, but yes another team would have had a shot at competeting

Yes it sucks at the moment and there will be more controversial bans of this kind. But if Riot is serious about this, they don't have a choice. Sure they might be blamed for bad timing, but the community will rip them apart if they show any signs of inconsistency. On that note, I think it was a mistake to make the standard ban for offensive language a one year ban. It's too harsh and set a precedent they have to stick to now. Pro's will slip up and this might become a continuous hassle for teams as well as Riot in the future. They also need to make clear, that any kind of intentional harassment/baiting of pro-players in SoloQ is a ban worthy offense. Otherwise people will make a game out of trying to get pros banned by pissing them off.

Now it's a 3-team group, where another team could've had a chance if they banned them earlier. Not like darkwin/wizix just started being "toxic" just now, that's been going on and on. Realistically, Riot probably expected something along the lines of "if we warn them enough, they'll stop for sure" Then they didn't stop, so they had to ban them now, instead of after (potentially) qualifying. I don't think they would have qualified either way, but Riot can't take the risk of banning a s3 qualified team.

I don't think they would have qualified either way, but Riot can't take the risk of banning a s3 qualified team. I think you underestimate them. Darkwinjax is possibly the best jungler in Europe (there was a reason he had rank 1 for the longest time this season. Wizikx is also a really good midlaner. Yamato as Ad isnt that good but if we put their behavior away, they are really good players and they had a good chance of qualifieing. But yes as I said the timing could have been better.

is my standpoint in this. IWD was the first one who got banned. After that it should have been clear that others will follow and therefore you should need to select your teammates properly. They were famous for being a dick and if you create a team with them, its your fault.

I was recently watching Krepo's stream, who duo'ed with Froggen. Some player was harassing Froggen in chat to a point, that he wrote "Don't be a dick". This is fairly harmless compared to "standard" SoloQ language. In any case you could hear from the conversation with Krepo during the chatting that he was upset about slipping up and writing that. The guys who got banned haven't "slipped up" just a few times though.Like if a pro player actually gets banned you know he does it ALMOST every game and I'm pretty sure everyone at high elo thinks it's deserved lol. About the baiting-just wanna throw it out there,but there is an ignore button and you can just not click enter and type.If your dream is to be pro is it too much to just stfu so you don't lose it for the dumbest of all reasons?
