Yes, these games won't be OGN level. Watch how you express yourself when these players make poor plays.

Obviously very small sample size, and while it might not be the highest level of play, it's fairly high. Olaf is the single champion that has enough games that his pretty absurd winrate might not be an outlier. Taric, Ahri, Urgot(only played by heartbeat?), Khazix, kog and Jayce are fairly small sample size, but high winrates as well. Lulu seems to be a bit weak, basically the opposite of Olaf(but idk if people just don't play her right or what, koreans seem to like lulu a lot). Ori and kassadin also got a bit beat up, but again, small sample size.
I just want to say that I think the Olaf stats are misleading. I think he is strong, no doubt, but this highly overrates him and he could cycle down to more normal levels. First there is the assassin meta, which Olaf is strong against, and then there is the 2v1 risk which he is also strong against. Without those 2 things Olaf is not who he is during this tournament. 2v1 seems to be here to stay (poor Jax) but Khazix is going to be hit same with Lee Sin and probably armor pen/shred, and maybe Zed.

what makes olaf a good competitive pick is league of CC. thats why he isnt nearly as good in solo q, dont get the CC stack like in competitive

Olaf perks include: role variability (can top and jungle), ability to beat almost anyone 1v1 reliably, completely shutting down squishy toplanes, 1v2'ing very successfully against all but the most pushing lanes, very safe laning phase in any case (fairly high defensive base stats, good sustain, high ability base damage, chain slow), not really reliant on Summoner Spells (we've seen almost any combination of Flash, Ghost, Teleport and Ignite on him last week), can focus on tanky items as his damage output strongly scales with HP and CDR

lets not forget penetration changes from s3 made his ult passive even stronger olaf was top tier in s2 together with irelia and jax (he could bully them in lane and now that they are weaker he shits on pretty much every melee), he is god tier top, jungler and on top of that excellent 1v2'er, also very good split pusher late game(similar to s2 rengar) thanks to his immunity to being caught

I think the most sad thing about this for me is seeing Cloud 9 not advance. I didn't get to watch any of the qualifiers but Nientonsoh has some real skills at both AD and AP mid and I love me some WildTurtle. Kinda sucks because the way season 3 is structured nearly everyone who didn't make it into season 3 is probably done with league professionally. Like no point in trying when you have to compete against teams that are salaried to do nothing but practice. Maybe some of them will try for come backs in season 4 but that's a pretty huge uphill battle.

There's some kind of up/down match ~halfway through the season where they can get in, though - it doesn't have to wait all the way till season 4. But they'd have to stay (mostly) together, I think...
Sad DNG didn't get in either - they had some amazing games (Those shen taunts!)

your team can still make it next time, your guys allready have good teamfihting, which is hard to achieve. Mostly lvl 1s and laning made your life hard, which is easier to catch up with.
well, and that baron was the nerves, doesnt count.

A lot of the teams that didn't make it have either broken up already or will probably break up. I'm sure Nien and WildTurtle will form new teams if they keep playing 'cause those two guys are both solid. I mean, they weren't good enough to make it so they don't deserve to compete. Just kinda sucks that there team in particular is disbanded as I generally would root for them at NA events.

i would not be sad to not see cloud 9 ever again, dont need people like them representing NA. its bad enough that we are already behind, but to have douchers like them representing our server? no thanks. all it does it further the stereotype that we are immature morons

Nien will find a team, no worries. If I was a manager, I'd solicit him as soon as I read his tweet. :O

As bitter as I was after the hype from the semi-finals, it definitely felt like the nerves and I hope DNG will stick around. They showed a big potential and I'd expect them to be able to beat several of the currently salaried teams (namely Marn, GGU and Brunch Club) if they managed to make up for their current early/laning weakness and keep improving overall. I hope they'll be around for the mid-season promotion chance.

Thank you for your support alaric I do have a plan for the team and we'll get in during the up/down tourney
I wrote a few pages about my trip while here at the airport but decided not to post it I have a lot of negative feelings about a lot of things in the trip but overall 10/10, and riot is the best company in the world, and if you have any questions, ask me anything

What were the negative things about your trip.

Nerves, urgot, Marn the person not the team, some things I learned about myself, LA traffic, elo sluts, the amateur attitude of most teams/managers, not getting to go to the beach

A lot of other teams that didn't make it felt straight up outclassed (including some teams that made it out of groups, like Azure.) or relying entirely on "win lane win game" with relatively poor teamwork. DNG had the teamwork, and only barely got edged out.
I feel like they could get some popularity streaming (especially if cris cleans up his attitude >.>) so I hope they stay together, maybe compete in some non-S3 stuff, and show up at the Up-downs with ferocity.
