Tournament Bracket
Teams + Show Spoiler + paiN+ Show Spoiler [paiN.LoL] + paiN Kamikat - AP Carry mid paiN Mr Frango - Bruiser top paiN juC - Jungler paiN Marilene - AD Carry paiN MiT - Support and Team Captain
More about the team: This team was formerly known as ExP Games, until they signed a sponsorship with paiN Gaming. They are composed by what is known to be the highest placed BRs. They won the great majority of tournaments they've entered since their inception, but lack International caliber and experience. They recently played EHomda's team on a showmatch, which they lost 2-0. During the qualifiers, they dropped only one game - to contender Team Awake, but still winning the match 2-1.
wWw+ Show Spoiler [World Wide Wipers] +
Gabriel "prZo" Hirota - AP Carry Mateus "Yetz" Vieira - Jungler Leonardo "Alocsman" Belo - Support Vitor "Lunalretlc" Silva - Bruiser Rodrigo "Kalec" Rodrigues - AD Carry and Team Captain
More about the team: While the Solo Queue measuring system for player skill (aka Elo) isn't as high as the paiN Gaming roster, Team wWw was the only team so far to beat paiN Gaming in a tournament. They blazed through the qualifiers, 2-0'ing everyone in their path. In my opinion, they're the most well-coordinated team in Brazil. Everyone's expecting the wWw vs paiN grudge match. In past events, wWw took a 3rd place finish in the LoL Spring Series Brazil event, losing in the semi-finals to Team NN after a series of disconnects, so expect some drama if those teams cross paths!
NN+ Show Spoiler [Noob da Net] + Luuuuuuuuuukz - AP Carry/Jungle brTT - AD Carry Kuroshi no Sanji - Jungle/AP Carry DynusXoX - Support xXxGutinhoxXx - Solo top
More about the team: CS and DotA progamer brTT was in the roster for Exp Games, but past experiences with paiN Gaming made him quit the team. NN quickly embraced him to AD carry, expecting better results from now on.
Awk+ Show Spoiler [Awake] + DANAGORN - Jungler zGustavo1 - AD Carry taQQxi - AP Carry and Team Captain Piruzin - Support phyro FD - Bruiser top.
More about the team: It seems the original team roster won't be able to play, since the plane tickets are too costly, so they will play mostly with subs ):
Notable Players: + Show Spoiler + paiN Kamikat: With only 15 years, Kamikat is the highest placed BR player in the NA servers, rating he earned at the end of season 1 playing mostly Mordekaiser (huehuehue) and solo top Udyr. Whenever I watch him play, I can rarely point any mistakes, save for that missed CS or two. Since we will have 0ish ping at Campus Party, he said he wanted to play champions that rely on this kind of advantage - namely Orianna, Lux, Fizz and Cassiopeia. If you like solid, dominant play, he's the one to watch. (btw, I will scream like a little girl/Phreak if he picks Heimerdinger).
paiN juC: Arguably the best Lee Sin in Latin America, this guy goes bananas whenever the pick is open. His style of jungling reminds me a lot of saintvicious, with a lot of pressure coming from ganks. juC also placed very high in TSM's solomid championships. A very skilled duelist.
wWw prZo: One of the most creative AP carries, he tends to favor position-related champions. Known best for his Gragas play, prZo is also known for his Ahri and Swain. He likes playing champions that favor mobility for some heavy ganks.
wWw yeTz: You never know what awaits you when 16 year old yeTz is taking the jungle pick. From the mainstream junglers to jungle TF, this guy has an uncanny knowledge for jungling. He oughtta be entertaining when using his unconventional junglers.
NN Luuuuuuuuuukz: While yeTz knows his junglers, Lukz (for short) knows his solos. Once upon a time, when there was a ESL 1v1 LoL league, there was intense battles to see who would be at the top: Lukz or juC.
NN brTT: This guy is the real deal. Accomplished pro both in Counter-Strike and DotA, brTT has the knack for online games. He started playing League 4 months ago and is already playing at 1800 elo. brTT has shown beautiful play from carry, experience he had already when playing DotA.
Awk taQQxi: While not as focused on mobility-style AP carries like prZo, taQQxi has shown some spectacular play on the AP carry positioning, carrying his team to victory a couple of times. He reminds me of old Regi - given a good start, he will dominate, while the opposite is also true.
Awk zGustavo1: I never heard of this guy until the qualifiers. Lets just say that this guy was the 1 in paiN`s 2-1 against Awake. He carried the team so hard g1 that during g2 and g3 paiN's jungler CAMPED bot lane almost the entire game, so he wouldnt have big advantages over Marilene.

No english casting, unfortunately. paiN's Kamikat is a really good Mordekaiser player, we might see the champion being picked.

Honestly, I'm still looking forward to see the Brazil teams and meta in action. I'm curious if they have surprises banked for us.

Tobad this iem is only really about sc2 but hopefully we will have some nice LoL games atleast.
|

Great stuff, Necrosed! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Ping is looking quite bad at the moment, though. We are looking at 200-ish ping right now, hopefully Telefonica (the ISP of Campus Party) will get this fixed though.

Oh wow, what can I say. The IEM crew is awesome and I just met Ret at the entrance of the hotel.
I'm really pumped up for the games tomorrow - also, I've updated the OP with game times. The crew is arriving on the site at 11:00 GMT (+00:00) and teams should be arriving at 12:00 GMT (+00:00), so look for the stream around that time!

naaaaaaaaaaaah
also really looking forward to dat BR cast
please HUEHUE lots, don't disappoint me

Hrggggg.
Why must the times be so early. Decent (maybe not so decent) gamer-folk like us do not do well in the wee hours of the morning (aka anything between 5 and 10am).
|
shouldnt this be starting right now?
|

DUDE I better get another Portuguese shoutout! ;P

Ill just pretend that the left guy is zenon and the right guy is phreak.
Cant understand a word they are saying either

I bet you are the one that gets all the girls out of you two
GL casting sir, cant really watch :/
|
paiN Bans: Rammus, Sivir, Singed NN Bans:Meowkai, CassiOPeia, Skarner
paiN Picks: Vladimir, Graves, Sona, Ryze, Lee Singah NN Picks: Taric, Alistar, Tristanana, Swain, Morganana
Double AP all day erry day
|
No Morde in first match makes me sad...
|
Trist is 5minions ahead but 600gold (am i reading that right) ahead of graves, what's up with that
|
Looking at this game( Pain vs NN) I see NN only having Tristana/swain for hard dmg, morgana/taric/morgana not that hot for sustain dmg. Think Pain has this if it goes past 35 minutes.
|
NN takes it; farmed Trist too stronk.
|
Pain needed to stop letting Alistair pulverize the entire team in one go. It felt like Pulverize was the ult and Sona's super dance mixtape was just the throwaway move with how those teamfights went.
|
Awk vs wWw starting shortly
|
|
Anyone understand the Gragas ban?
|
prZo is a gragas plazer. Awk tried to ban him
|
Anyone know what ABDABDABDAB means ? :D I just find it hillarious whenever they say it
|
Thanks His Cassio is also pretty scary! Clear game for wWw. Corki so outplayed that Graves bot. Graves thought he could trade with Corki, even after his Q only did minimum damage. Corki was quite happy to take that trade and kept pushing Graves into tower. 50 CS advantage now.
|
Good Skarner ulti onto Cassio, but even with Gangplank hitting her she only drops to half health, quickly heals up with spell vamp and www ace awk in their forest. This should be game.
|

Joke (?) thread turned meme status. Maybe they'll release this skin when they open up a Latin America server.

morde es #1
lag es #2
|
I hope this lag isn't a preview of what's to come for SC2, but it wouldn't be surprising in the least.
|
they said that its only on the spectator mod , the players dont have lag . Lests hope that it stops =(
|
On February 08 2012 02:12 Asshat wrote: I hope this lag isn't a preview of what's to come for SC2, but it wouldn't be surprising in the least. There is 0 lag for the players, whether it's SC2 or LoL. I think it was just an issue for the observers here on site.
The bandwidth and stability of Campus Party's connection is really good. The ping on the other hand is actually pretty bad. LoL is running with a constant ~200ms ping. SC2 is more like ~150ms but according to the players very manageable.

I just watched a little bit, but I have to say that we (Brazillians) are at a much lower level of play.
Let's see how the sc2 tourney will go.
|
Im sorry I cant update the topic right now. We were behind schedule, so things got rushed.
Ill try to do a recap

Let's see how the sc2 tourney will go. It's to be expected. You'd get the same results trying to do a local tournament almost anywhere since the good teams are so scattered around the world.
I'm 99% sure I've played with yetz several times, but normally as him spamming Vayne.
|
dat early gank+tower !!!! lol
|
dam im late. how long has this been on?
|
Looks like the final is starting:
Bans wWw: Alistar, Kennen, Morgana NN: Maokai, Corki, Gragas
Picks wWw: Sivir, Taric, Shyvana, Cassiopeia, Skarner NN: Sona, Vayne, Vladimir, Udyr, Sion
|
Those finals made awesome games. The crowd was so loud cheering for the teams... amazing games! Amazing experience!
I`ll try to write up what hapenned in the games when I have time. I was taking care of vile.Illusion while he played MLG and we just arrived in the hotel. Its around 2:50AM now and I should be hitting the bed.
See ya and thanks for everyone that watched!
|
=) congrats brazil keep it up!
|
Really fun to watch, and looking forward to the write-ups! wWw's Taric player made some big plays in the final - really impressive.
|
Nice OP, really caught me up on players/teams I admit knowing very little about. Hope to see some action going on as the sc2 side of things is so far pretty boring for me at least.
|
I didn't get to watch any of it, but how did the BRKAISER do?
