I was so excited about all the wc3 action that I missed league entirely ^_^ Were any of the games actually worth watching or just all walkovers? Assuming that there are vods to watch in the first place...

basically MikakoTabe dropped his school (Hongkong University, which is top5 univeristy in Asia), his parent was super mad.
he left away from home(without parent knowing lol), and now plays LoL in iG Gaming house in Beijing.

this is all for nothing for him.

The World Cyber Games 2011 in Busan, Korea started today and we got the results of the first day for you. As an addition we also have some drama, which comes from the French team. Kujaa and Linak were involved into a fight and one of them came out with a black eye. It is not sure what the committee of the WCG will do now, but we will keep you updated as good as we can.

Not for esports in general. James '2gd' Harding beat the snot out of a kid who tried to flying-dropkick him at a quake lan on some island in europe back in 2003 or 2004. It was covered on Live on Three a few months back, I'll try to find the story.

lol, in my little sheltered SC+LoL world, this is a first for me.

I imagine FPS players to be a lot more angry for some reason...

Iirc, Russia and France had a fallout in BW too, with punches flying around. Taken from here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=8174

As Cyberfight.ru reports:
Team Russia got in a fight with team france at the WCG. No mention of Elky. Azpeak however was the alleged instigator. Azpeak los his cell phone, and was looking around for it in the hotel. Apparently he thought the russians stole it and some shit talking ensued. Under (russian fps player) then swore at azpeak in russian, azpeak turned out to have a russian mother and knew what it meant. Under gets a kick in the face. Under runs to team russia HQ and gets 8 drunk russians. Russians break team france's hotel room door in, and beat ppl up. In the end 4 ppl required medical assitance (the french of course) and 2 french reporters were hurt as well.

Biggest high of all WCG's combined for me.

This ALL taken from 1st hand report at cyberfight.ru.

PS. the fight was stopped by player village staff who saw the happening on camera. Team russia is in deep shit.

I wonder if soul was involved :D

He soon then got into an argument with judge of the broodwar event and eyewitnesses report:

No No you arent.

He punched him and spit him in the face.
And then was escorted by computer cafe security to nearby police station.
Story sounds unbelievable yes, but many confirm, and noone denies.

ON the note that this argument was born i gotta say a couple of notes about organizers of Russian WCG this year.

to quote midian they are fuckfaces!

Buying wins, disobeying rules, players have done that in the very face of wcg organizers and they didnt do nothing.
One time a guy(who was in the tourney finals) observered loserbracket finals and he built up an army and started dropping one of the players and he was not disqualified!

Yeah...

As much as I want CDE to win this tourney, there is just no fucking way that is going to happen with locodoco gettin them drunk every night.

That might be putting it a bit strongly. If I'm not mistaken iG has been winning and placing in almost every tournament, there's a local tournament circuit in China sponsored by Tencent, so he's got quite a bit of money, considering the exchange rates, not to mention the prizes in China are generally larger than IEM circuit.

Dignitas won the game easily. Their Fizz and Graves got fed pretty early and all the team fights were always in favor of Dignitas and it just snowballed from there. Not sure if MYM even got a tower if my memory serves me right.
