How does one play blitz top? Do you just try to farm, auto powerfist (possible auto) and disengage till it's back up?

Early you need to disengage a lot yes. A big point of Blitz top is that he supports ganks so well, so just ask the jungler to gank early, and when u get an advantage u can fight most champions, when all things even you lose to almost any top laner.

I'm a bit surprised that this thread is so old and dead, but I guess blitz is pretty linear.

I'm wanting to try some lanecrank after playing him on Dominion; he's so much fun with a triforce but I have no idea what to build afterwards. All I can think of is Manamune, but tear takes forever to charge on him :S

Not much has changed since July 2012 for Blitz's top lane, without ganks he loses almost every 1v1 unless you play passive until you can get some grabs under tower. If they don't give it to you, you don't really have a chance trading with Riven/Renekton/Nasus/Shen/name almost any top laner. I love Blitz, he's easily my most played since S1, but he doesn't belong top lane, sadly. Support then jungle are the two best places for him, the other two are largely dependent on your jungler bailing you out.

Yeah Blitzcrank is just annoying to play against.
