Sad thing is, is I am sure there are several Diamond 1 to master level female players throughout the world and they could have atleast made a decent competitive CS team if they tried hard enough. But none of those players would sign with a company banned from competition. | ||

I get you, and this can be a reason, but there is more life apart from Riot organized tournaments, why does every team have to aspire to a lcs slot (for example) maybe if they were allowed to play, they would hire higher level competitors, we don't know that | ||

Chess has gender-split tournaments. But I don't see Magnus Carlsen spending his spare time bitching about women's chess. People who don't care about women's chess don't have to care about it - the women's world chess champion gets paid $60k, less than 1/10 what Carlsen won when he beat Anand. How can you get mad over that? Similarly this team isn't going to be LCS, not even close. They aren't even hosting women's tournaments. They're just an amateur team of five women that did pretty well at some small (co-ed) tournaments and a porn site thought it'd be good publicity if it paid them some money. It's just such a weird thing to be so mad over. | ||

He once took a game off of Armada's Fox, and a statement like that kind of tells you both how good Bizz is, but also how much better Armada is. He's really good at being a stylish Ganondorf player, which gives him a lot of attention because he's a ton of fun to watch. But he's ultimately not as good at Ganondorf as Kage, and in the end he's still playing Ganondorf, which is rather like trying to make LCS playing only full AD Garen. Also he's retired now to practice law. | ||

Probably because when the female-only [insert anything here] sucks or isn't financially successful there is a tendency to blame the people who didn't like whatever was being offered as sexist. This pattern is so consistent that there is a pre-backlash now. If an all Female team won the LCS they would be the most popular esports team in history by a significant margin. Its just that everyone online knows what is inevitably going to happen when tokenism fails. | ||

Oh wait, no, that's not a thing at all. Women's LCS, if it is ever created, would be significantly lower quality than LCS. For that reason, it will also be significantly less popular. There will be some skirmishing around the culture wars where unreasonable people say "it's sexist to not enjoy watching women play shit League", slightly less unreasonable but still unreasonable people say "women should be paid equal to men at playing League even though they are a lot less popular", and then Redditors eager to make fun of Women's LCS because a) women suck at League and b) Team Siren. And I think all of that is just so stupid, on both sides. Women's sports in general is just a thing that exists off to the side with less talented players. People who like it watch it, and people who don't like it don't watch it. And hey, maybe a few women who wouldn't otherwise consider forming a team, get motivated to do so. There's no particular reason why that business model shouldn't exist in esports, but every time someone tries, it creates so much boring controversy. And so companies like YouPorn now just take advantage of that controversy - you think they didn't know these players were bad? That was the whole reason they sponsored them, so that nerds could get mad over it and talk about YouPorn. | ||
