altec is another hyped player but in real worse then cop.

Cop is overrated; Altec is overrated. Cop's the most overrated though, so, I'm happy with this.

Well, not much reason to root for Gravity anymore for me personally, given they booted 2/5ths their roster despite a pretty good showing. Like I'm rooting for this team because of Haunterz and Bunny. Keane isn't enough for me to be that interested. Altec is okay I guess, but I kind of doubt he's a significant upgrade- Winterfox funneled a huge amount of resources to him, and he still looked pretty bleh most of the time.

I think Cop is better than most people say. With that said, he's been supported by some of the best supports in the game: Edward, Xpecial, and Bunnyfufu. Season 3 all he had to do was play OP MF and press R to do his job in a team fight. This season he's been on a team that runs 4 tank comps around an ADC. So yeah, you're gunna look good when your entire team is tanky.
I'm looking forward to seeing Altec on Gravity. He's coming out of the hyperbolic time chamber after playing with Gleeb and end of career Krepo. Then you had 'worse Link' Pobelter and nepotism top lane. Him and Pobelter don't have any more excuses. They're going to have to put up or shutup now.

Only two players I cared about on that team gone. They can get relegated now thanks.

The thing with Cop is if you ask him to carry, he's just not going to. He's not wired like that. But if you had a team built around solo laners, Cop is a really good AD carry, because he doesn't need farm priority and will always be solid. There is something to be said by being a solid, reliable, professional player, and Cop basically is that guy.
As others have said I'm struggling to find anything to like about this new Gravity roster. Unless their jungler is someone really exciting, I can't see myself caring about this team at all.

I wonder if TiP would want Cop. He seems like an upgrade over Apollo to me and he wouldn't have to carry on that team.

Apollo's better than Cop, and their bot has pretty solid synergy.
Cop is basically a bar against which NA ADCs are measured. Are you better than Cop? Have a playoff spot. Are you worse than Cop? Have relegations (or get carried if you're maplestreet)
Altec/Gleeb was basically the only thing WFX had going for it. I can only assume he'll look even better with a much better support.

Cop is one of those players who are simultaneously underrated & overrated. He's historically been made out to be hot garbage when he's just average, which leads to people calling him underrated, which leads to people having him as their hipster "good" ADC. Someone in the rumor thread even had him at 4th best NA ADC! Even in what was probably his best split he'd be behind Sneaky, Altec, Doubleift, Turtle, CoreJJ and probably Piglet/Apollo. Sure he doesn't die a lot but he doesn't have much impact either.
I'd love to see a stat which showed Cop's damage dealt to champions per minute across his career. I'm pretty confident it'd be amongst the lowest of ADCs in NA LCS history.

He improved ever so slightly last split, probably from Saint telling him to find some balls, but his passive play on late Curse single-handedly lost games. I'd watch him get 0 autos in teamfights so regularly, it became a joke.

I feel like I've heard Calada's arguments consistently over the last few years and yet seen Cop play wildly differently throughout them. Is Cop 'consistent' or his reputation?

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Cop is unimpressive, and so is Altec; Gravity as a team will continue to remain unimpressive, and for the most part irrelevant.

Johnny 'Altec' Ru is going to join Gravity Gaming, according to DailyDot's sources. After MSI TDK went with 
Kim 'Emperor' Jin-hyun as their starter adc, Altec is going to replace 
David 'Cop' Roberson in Gravity.
