The Kalista pick was really smart, C9 is a top tier team, not a big deal they lost. I don't care if you play on a stage and you get paid money to do so, if you forget things like this you are not a professional. Not a big deal? They lost the game. As a professional, you play to win, and if you do not give yourself every legal advantage to do so, you have failed. There is absolutely no excuse, and it should not be accepted. It can never happen again.

If League of Legends strives to be considered a professional activity, a sport even as Riot has begun calling it in recent times, simple and fatal oversights like this are absolutely not acceptable. Forgetting your masteries is something most people can find acceptable in their own play because they are not a professional. To be a professional is to be a step above the other people who may be playing the same game. A professional game is a cut above a game played at lower levels. If it is to be a professional activity, a sport, you should expect and demand excellence at all turns.

I mean no professional soccer/football player would bite another during the biggest event in 4 years. That would be so unprofessional no one would ever take soccer/football seriously again. Jeez, high horse much?

Don't even get me started on runes, which are exclusively a cash grab.

They may fuck up but it remains unprofessional, and commentary around instances when that happens isn't the "oh it's okay" soft whitewash that people are engaging in in this thread. They are publicly ridiculed and people lose their jobs when it happens. It remains unacceptable and it should not be allowed to happen again.

Back when the community really pushed for having multiple bans / more in-depth bans, one of the justifications against it given by Zileas was that decisions outside of the game shouldn't really influence what happens in the game and the final outcome. But it has remained true that Pick/Ban has a tremendous influence on the outcome and playstyle of a game.

I don't think the ban number needs to go up from three, although something like captains mode would be interesting. That is a really terrible reason for it though.

How can runes be "exclusively" a cash grab when you can't even purchase them with money, and your account comes with 2 free rune pages? Rune pages that can be obtained with IP, which again, can not be purchased with money.

It is actually very common to not use mastery pages especially in high korean elo. This way you show the enemy that you are strong enough to beat him without masteries and he might gets scared.

I do not believe he meant to do this on purpose.
