What's the general consensus on Wings then? This video makes it sounds like that he's not that popular or not that good of a player.

I'm likely just confused though. I don't follow the pro scene at all so I'm not knowledgeable on what the popular opinion is.

imo Wings is a tier below Nightblu3 when it comes to his stream

He can be informative to a point for low-level viewers (like me), but you have to pay attention to when he's making excuses for himself (see the aforementioned "getting camped" jokes).

He would probably not fare well, skill-wise, at even NA LCS levels, but that doesn't seem to be his goal anyways.

Edit: Nightblu3, in contrast, keeps up more helpful commentary (compared to Wings' more regular attempts at being funny/a personality), but suffers the same complaint/blaming the team issue.

So is Nightblu3 considered the gold standard when it comes to top lane? (assuming he does play top lane EDIT: Looks like he plays the jungle. Shows what I know!)

I understand that everyone's opinion is going to differ when it comes to who do they think is the best player, but is there anyone that most people agree on that is the best (top) laner?

wings is considered the poor man's version of nightblue, who currently rules the niche of 'watch me and learn' high elo commentary streams

best top laner? flame is a widely accepted answer. if trying to learn from watching streams, i STRONGLY recommend instead looking up soloq vods of pro level players and studying those instead (assuming a base level of knowledge necessary to be able to learn from observation rather than having everything explained)

I've seen Nightblu3 playing top lane before. I wouldn't say he is "bad" at it - I feel he doesn't really know what he is doing but magically things would turn in his favour.

its not technically luck when you don't ever get caught and die to ganks or lose any of the 2v2's while your opponent does but it sure looks like it

This reminds me of the time when people complained that top lane is all about the 2v2 at lvl3 because you cant afford to buy wards level1. Anyone remmebers when was that?

how the fuck is it even possible to ks with garen, you literally can't damage someone without running into them in a straight line

if someone is low hp they are probably already running away, unless you ulted them to finish em off in which case kill secured

also garen is a pretty good teamfighter not sure why the hate

like if people are playing renekton and shit, whne people were playing shen and malphite it might be okay criticism

Why does nobody play malph anymore? I know he has a hard time laning, but that R is still as great as ever, and with a sivir, there's not much problem with follow-ups.
