From the input we've received in the TL InHouse thread, I think there's enough interest to try and start a league to help people improve at League. After talking to a few people, we've straightened out the logistics and we're ready to roll. Depending on the number of interested participants, we'll have coaches to help and guide each team to help them improve on key aspects to improving at League such as laning, map movement, objective control, etc. Sign up only if you're willing to spend the time and effort into playing and improving.
Eligibility
Let's talk eligibility. Who's able to play in this league? After talking it through, I think anyone in gold or below should be eligible to play in the league. Don't worry, if you're plat or above, I'll likely have another league similar to this for more experienced players to play in. If you're on the borderline (Gold 1), you can choose where you want to play in, but I'd recommend you play with the Plat+s so that you can improve quicker.
Teams
Once we have the players set in stone, division into teams will be an issue. Not everyone is available to play at the same time as everyone else, and not everyone is the same rank either. Also, not everyone plays every role and there are definitely people who want to improve on certain roles. I think during signups, everyone interested in playing should list the times they can practice during the week as well as what roles they want to learn and play on the teams.
Also, how many players to each team? I personally like having just 5 so that people aren't left out in "sub" roles if they're deemed not good enough, but at the same time that doesn't leave much room for flexibility. I personally think that if you're unable to field a team of 5, you can look to find any sub that's roughly the same level.
Anyone Plat 1 or higher can coach (I'll make exceptions in certain cases), and you do have the option to team up with other coaches if you feel like you're unable to help everyone at every position.
Format
I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that a single Bo1 per week is the best thing to do because it gives time to prepare new strategies, try out new champs, play some solo queue on your own on the side during the week. The only question is whether or not the games should take place at the same time each week with the ability to reschedule or whether it should be up to the teams to schedule that.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to accommodate everyone's schedules and complete out teams, so if you need to find someone to replace another team member, these 4 players signed up but were not placed on teams due to certain limitations.
It seems as if people wanted a fixed time slot for games over the weekends, but if you're unable to make it at that time, please look to reschedule the games and submit a score screen to me. For now, we'll host the games on Sunday at 1 PM Pacific.

We usually have a discussion in our skype group about who we should submit as our roster to try to meet the deadline. We include more players on the roster than is necessary so that the ones who are busy/don't want to be on the team drop out and we can deploy a solid 5-man roster every week. Would you say we're "trolling" LPCL too?

None of what I said is misleading. And no it's not how I ran our LPCL team, I asked everyone on our roster if they wanted to play before adding them, except 1-2 people who played the previous season and I knew they wanted in anyways. I specifically stated I didn't want to play in this league and I didn't want a fake lvl 30 account to do so either. So no this is not anywhere near the same way LPCL went down. The LPCL team was also a staff wide thing that everyone was interested in, while this is something that only you and kupon3ss have discussed.

The LPCL team was also a staff wide thing that everyone was interested in, while this is something that only you and kupon3ss have discussed.
This is a staff wide thing that at least 4 people were interested in and that we've discussed over several days. This is exactly how our LPCL team ran, with you adding people first and checking for interest later (often on playday). The main difference is that there's a more stringent standard in this league that requires team to pre-register before-hand; which is what we're doing.

I am efforting to put something together but my premade skype group is super skill unbalanced / adc heavy and I don't know that all of them every care about improving so I'm trying to iron it out before I enter myself as a random. That's an interesting view point. I thought it was justified considering one of the main goals behind initiatives like these were to take things more seriously(less trolling orientated) while attempting to improve those involved.

Just a suggestion, but I also think it might be useful for teams to designate a coordinator (the coach, perhaps), and have all the coordinators add each other and schedule some impromptu scrims if you see other coordinators/teams on.

My appeal is founded on two premises:
1) That "trolling" may be prevalent in solo-queue, but the term does not carry any meaning in an amateur-level team vs. team format. Every team should have the right to decide what to pick/ban themselves and not be subject to any constraints or limited to drafting champions considered "politically correct". While pro teams may "troll" other teams on occasion, the "trolling" is fundamentally based on the large following of fans those teams have, so that by beating another team with "troll" picks it can be considered a form of disrespect for another team and fanboys will have something to lord over another group of fanboys about. Our team is a newbie team assembled from a group of friends who just want to improve, so naturally we have no fan following and we wouldn't have anything to gain in prestige from winning and losing.
2) That if you still disagree with my first premise and you are afraid we are planning to pick cheesy heroes and bm other teams after winning with such cheesy picks (which we're not - the only reason I am mentioning it is because I find it difficult to imagine how to troll in a team vs. team format) you can check with league organizers and team captains on TeamLiquid who can vouch for our reputation of mannered play in TL community leagues we've entered in the past (Liquid Pasture Community League Seasons 2 and 3) [1][2].
Based on these two premises, I think you may have misunderstood my light-hearted humor in the team application as disrespect or not taking the league seriously (which is my fault since I am a jocular person who might joke at inopportune occasions at times), but if that is the only problem you have with us I think you should give us a second chance to create a second application [3]. I also wasn't aware that the highest rank allowed was Gold 1, so I can find someone else to replace our Plat 3 guy if that's the only thing keeping us from participating.

That said, if this league does not run under the same rules as the parent TLLOLINHOUSE, then I'd make the same appeal that Choco did and admit that; while we would likely pick certain champions in non-standard positions/roles; that's as far as the "trolling" would extend and I'd love to play if that was the case.

The point of these leagues is to improve, not to play like a baddie while at the same time pulling suboptimal picks and using that as a crutch for "pretending" to be bad.
For those in team ten, I added everyone I could find. Hopefully, I didn't miss anyone or got a name wrong. We could create our own room on the client once we can create a team name or just create a random named room for the team.

This league is for lesser skilled players to improve their skills. Why do you insist on pretending that you're Bronze 1 when everyone knows you dodge promos and don't play at that skill level.
I'm certainly a lesser player who wants to improve my skills. I don't play at a level of half of the coaches, and I'm genuinely a positive player who tries to improve not only my own play but that of my allies. I think I'm a valuable asset to this league if given the chance. I don't think I'll perform in a manner far above the competition.

I could be a sub. I personally don't play enough solo queue to improve tbh, so I would prefer to keep player spot to those willing to be getting better.

To get from Bronze 1 to Silver 5 you need like Silver 3 MMR...Bronze 1 is easily very similar if not the same.

I believe I'll be able to get all 5 on to practice, and make the Sunday date. We haven't yet had time to practice, however.

I'll probably be able to bounce around to sub for teams that're down like a member at an important time or I'll just listen in to tips/coaching so I can at least maintain not being completely rusty when I actually get a chance to return to this game.

I think there are teams still with similar problems of coordination. If this continues, I would seriously suggest talking with your team/Roffles about disbanding and patching up those teams that do need replacements (not sure if still). Also subs (always a need for subs).
I probably wont be around much tomorrow, we're supposed to get between 4 and 6 inches of snow, so I'll be out all day dealing with that most likely....Sunday I'll be around, and hopefully get my promo series out of the way....

Well, I've gotten the Team 3 roster (and subs) through the holidays.
I'd probably figure matches are starting again next weekend at the earliest (not sure this weekend given a lack of advance notice, and teams are still consolidating post-holidays).

I'd recommend checking to see if the teams as listed are still all available, and reshuffle/liquidate/consolidate teams that are currently non-functional. Ours is up and running (and I'll send you a roster update), but others may not be.

honestly i think the best approach to the noobleague at this point would be to just have everyone that is left show up at a certain time on saturday/sunday and just set up an in-house - if your full team still participates then they can play against a set up in-house team. I feel like it is quite apparent that few (if any) of the remaining teams have enough people to show up and participate. Playing in-houses at least makes it so those of us that want to learn can still learn and have fun playing in a team environment and if there is a team that is still standing they will have at least some form of competition to play against.
Well since Roffles bans anyone who plays with/against me, but no longer is coordinating it, feel free to add me to any list of people willing to play. Bronze season 3, look me up. IG name same as here.
