Similar, but not double elimination.

No, that's not what Riot wants. They want all regions to be represented at the latter stages of the tournament, no matter how flawed the system is. A tournament dominated by the most competitive teams during the finishing stages is the last thing they seem to want at the moment.

What this means is that when you're playing game 3 of a Bo3 or a game 4/game 5 of a Bo5, it's not just about which team is more skilled anymore. Because the skill difference between the two teams will be close enough that it won't just be about which team is better at playing the GAME, but also which team is better at playing a SERIES. Which team holds up better under the pressure and mindgames of a BoX--because those factors will outweigh plain skill when it comes down to the wire. We simply can't know how teams like C9, Gama Bears, and OMG will perform under those circumstances, because they haven't been under those conditions that often. But it's not all that common that a team with no big LAN Bo5 experience is suddenly amazing at it from the start. It's far more often that promising teams/players choke under pressure because they don't have the experience handling it. This is actually for me one of the things that makes SKT T1 such an amazing team. Not only just that they are good at the game--but that when faced with a team like KT B that is both skilled and experienced in big series, they were able to overcome the ridiculous pressure of being down 0-2 in a Bo5 with with their backs against the wall. That demonstrates an insane level of mental fortitude and desire to win.

Homme is also a questionable factor. The patch doesn't favor him similar to insec.

As much as I respect Xpecial's play for TSM, I feel like he isn't incredibly consistent lately. He's definitely shown that he can compete at a world level when he's on point though.

Hai and Meteos have great synergy, and it makes Hai look better than he is. I think Hai is close to being world caliber. Not quite.

I don't understand how lemonnation is world class compared to Xpecial. Yeah, his team is really good at early game decision making and he's a part of it, but he's not the whole brains behind C9. Like Meteos said it consists of him, lemonnation and Hai. Individually though I don't think he's anywhere close to Xpecial yet.

Hai also gets a lot more respect in NA than I feel he will get at worlds. Korea seems really confident from their interviews when it comes to foreign competition, I don't think they care all that much about the record C9 has left in NA.

They're aware of the record, but they don't think of it as a sign that C9 comes in as a favored team. Personally I think SKT T1's style will run all over them. C9 plays very similarly to KT B except KT B's players are better at laning and Meteos doesn't give much attention to his lanes.

When you're at worlds your records of playoffs in your region don't matter.
