As mentioned before he dismantled Rapidstar of Frost ( the back then reigning ogn champs and best korean teams) in the Karthus vs Anivia matchup and reverse. Played insanely good every game and carried. If he wasn't who was? Froggen? Naah at IPL 5 he came back and crushed although Froggen at one point was 2 levels and 15 cs ahead ( lvl 3 to lvl 5) I think. Might be because I remember clearly that Froggen built Anivia like shit that game though.

Frost was the "best Korean team", but there was absolutely no question that Ambition was still significantly better than Rapidstar. Whether you consider Toyz or Ambition better depends whether you consider wider repertoire and flexibility more valuable than Toyz's total mastery of his narrow repertoire.

Might be because I remember clearly that Froggen built Anivia like shit that game though. He never was the best mid. He was one of the best, now he isn't even that. TPA, and Toyz, was one of the 3-4 best in the world when they won S2. I saw nothing that made me think they, or Toyz, was especially better than M5 or Frost, Alex Ich, Froggen, Amibition (always forgotten) or Rapidstar. And no, winning one Bo3 against them with good scores isn't changing my mind. I don't mean to disparage him. He is/was an excellent player who showed that a little-respected scene like SEA could produce a world class team with the ability to win any tournament they entered. And that's what they did. But to say that he was the best mid in the world, largely off a couple results in one very short timespan is kinda silly. People are going to ask who I think the best was. And I guess this is where I differ from Reddit/TL who wants to say this guy is the best, this guy sucks, this team is #1, this is fact, that is wrong, etc... There is rarely a clear best in the world, and when Toyz was at his best he wasn't that - however, he was one of the best and a great player.

He's especially lucky seeing as Diana became huge across the world about a week later.

There were no "high value" APs outside his comfort zone, and his 3 best champs were the three most important mid champs (Anivia, Orianna, Karthus). More than anything, this is luck. He's especially lucky seeing as Diana became huge across the world about a week later. But by god was his Orianna magnificent
