In terms of individual ability, I think the team proposed in the poll (Weixiao Misaya Clearlove PDD Xiaoxiao) is close to the strongest they could have in terms of individual skill (obviously less coordination issues the more people you have from the same team). Only spot that's up for contention is support, but with Xiaoxiao you have the magic of the battle cry Sona ult.

Yeah, I don't mean to take anything away from Misaya. He's still probably better than most of the other AP mids going.
But I really like Zz1tai. I understand why the fan base didn't vote him in (WE too popular and role swapping stuff).

Sona has a battle cry? (I think I already did that one.)

the all stars actually looks quite good. im really interested to see how KR will shape up in the upcoming weeks, but i agree with yango's assessment overall. if EU's communication is not bad, i think they are also very scary as well. NA also a competitor but at a pretty big disadvantage overall.
|
If Stanley doesn't facetank 1v2 lanes, I think TPA, I mean, SEA has a good shot at this.
|
big reason why im stoked for this all stars is that a lot of them actually have the potential (or have the proved structures) of real teams. i think misaya going instead of zz1tai is fine, and probably a big net positive, because he is WE's shotcaller (i don't know iG's communication structure but their calls and composure lategame is... questionable). NA is probably the shakiest, but will be interesting to see them duke it out with the others.
SEA having a bye is also fking huge. lol

hopefully this will be a wake up call for NA for how behind they are compared to other regions.
|
Or a wake up call to the rest of the world when we take first without dropping a map.
Seriously though, I'm excited for DoubleX(Xpecialift?) vs TriXiao.

TPA vs WEiG round 2 might as well be the finals, IMO
|
Wait what. Only the teams that lose in round 1 are able to get a second chance? That's interesting.

oh i found bracket on reddit: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/2ZTEPpo.jpg)
This bracket looks funny. But it's basically this:
Normally a 5-team single-elimination tournament would have the structure of a 8-team single-elimination tournament with 3 of the teams getting byes first round. The only thing is that the way they're choosing the 3 teams to receive byes is a bit weird. The 3 teams to receive byes are: (1) SEA, (2) Winner of NA vs China, (3) Winner of EU vs KR.
So in essence, SEA is getting "half a bye" over the other teams, since they don't have to play for it. Well, I am 90% sure china is going to win, so it's probably not even a half a bye advantage. This system is probably a bit more fair than just giving three teams byes arbitrarily.
Anyway, the way I see this bracket is: (1) it's really a single-elimination tournament, don't let the "loser's bracket" fool you; (2) The first round (NA vs China, EU vs KR) is really a seeding round to see who gets the byes.
tl;dr: Mentally erase matches 1 & 2. Notice how the leftover bracket looks like a single-elimination bracket. Matches 1 & 2 are solely there to decide which teams get screwed over by the asymmetric bracket.

the pseudo loser bracket is rigged in so that EU/NA actually do have one member in the semis guaranteed.
