Personally I'd certainly have reacted less strongly if that had been the splash/model of a new champ, rather than Karma's, because of that stark contrast. Amongst the players' crowd, Karma's identity has come to be associated with that stern, dignified woman in robes. I think stern is a good wording here—I don't mean that other arts can't convey dignity.
But I feel it did its job of establishing Karma as that poised, ever-calm lady who spiritually leads her people (Ionans were supposed to be somewhat distressed in general because of Noxus, in comparison to her). I don't mind the new art as far as "badass spirit mage" goes, but the shift is pretty steep and the fact that we go from "traditional cleric-like robes and inner strength" to "tight or revealing outfit with dynamic poses" doesn't help. Of course, there's Riot wanting to make her evolve to reflect the time passing in the League, from her current "Elder-like: with restraint and passivity" closer to "boiling young blood, active" from champs such as Irelia or Syndra (though it's most probably just an excuse for "we wanted her to look battle badass because we like it more and that sells well"), and the idea of the shift makes sense following that, just... maybe more subtly? :/
(Fwiw I find Syndra's model elegant as far as aesthetics go but I definitely dislike the splash art and the focus in puts on her thighs and breats with the colour contrast and stuff, because when I read her lore and quotes and then look back to the splash art I find nothing of what I read, except her Ionan crest and the building in the background.) Well, they are going to release a redo of the more traditional Karma skin for people that have her: + Show Spoiler +

The thing about that traditional Karma skin is that it still clearly looks like it was just a clothing texture applied to a model that wasn't originally designed to be covered in those areas.
Also, high heels.

It's because the old art style is more consistent with your expectations from the game, IMO. Related to my post earlier, the new Sona art is jarring because it's markedly different from the art style of other champions, so it feels inconsistent overall.

Is there still that TL LoL group that plays DotA 2? If so maybe I'll come join you guys sometime. LoL/DotA just not the same outside of 5s.

You always come on at like 5am or some crazy time.

If Yango is a porkchop what would Lulu be? I vote grape.

With phyvo involved you have a decent chance of him guilting me into completing any five-man group.

How come TL doesn't do inhouses.
I know we've talked about this in previous threads, but why aren't there like Saturday night inhouses for tryharding after we do goofy shit on Fridays for TROLLS.
Is it just that there's nobody organizing it? Is it something people would want to do?

Also, high heels. It's called pants. Lets make every girl wear to the floor skirts, because when they wear pants they're clearly saying they want to walk around in panties. Also, I don't see heels on that skin, only boots.

Is it just that there's nobody organizing it? Is it something people would want to do? I know you're new, man, but all throughout last summer there were multiple inhouses going every night. LiquidPractice channel. They have since died somewhat in popularity as all the LoL channels have, but every once in a while people get a 5s going. You're welcome to try to get stuff going but greater men than you have tried and since failed.
TL IH RIP

Last IH I played in on EUW seemed to have some blaming and raging going on, sadly. What do we care if we fail or somebody did something silly, I obviously understand making sure you're on the same page if somebody'd like to play troll-y stuff, but what need do we have to tryhard in IH where the skill discrepancy is gonna be huge anyway?

As for the new Sona art, it's definitely, uh... I'm not sure what's the English word for it. Finer? More astute? More refined? Something of that magnitude. The guys who make the splashes definitely improved and stuff, it's not a case of being downright ugly like Yi, Cassiopeia or Morde new splashes. But it doesn't feel at all like the previous splash. So between what the two convey, if you feel the original one was closer to the image you had of the champ, then the new one is worse as Sona's splash art, though not necessarily as a picture.

The signature looks like it says "Stylus", I can't read the signature of the witness.

Ares is a great man and has yet to fail. If you hang out in the chat enough you tend to figure out who's there to idle for no reason and who actually plays with other TL players.
