Part of it is because of EG's previous stances towards LoL and various statements from their players(Incontrol) and staff(Sirscoots) about how LoL is casual and Dota2 is "e-sports". I imagine that's where some of the hate comes from. | ||

Many people strongly dislike Incontrol, some dislike Idra, some dislike the fact that they are so mainstream (they have the most money), some dislike them for buying ''stars'' who then stagnate or even slump a little. Personally, I don't think hating on EG is justified.. The CEO has proven to be kind of a douche, but I doubt anyone hates EG for that specific reason. I suppose this is just my opinion, after all, but I've never understood hate for EG just as I don't understand hate for Justin Bieber or anything popular. I think it's all a little childish. | ||

I'm guessing you probably use a 3rd party stream lister that shows both but many people don't. There were also loads of technical issues with Own3d in the past few months, it was unwatchable for me at the end of last year. | ||

And twitch simply has a much bigger userbase, which is funny because when this streaming in LoL started, owned was the big site with hotshot pulling everyone in and twitch having terrible video quality and lag issues. They clawed their way back somehow and have a much higher userbase now. | ||

Neither, I'm a big fan of Curse fan and it doesn't bug me glancing at the stream list of both websites. I liked own3d because my high school locks our iPads so we can't download apps and for the greater part of the year, own3d worked without an app while twitch did not. I never really had a problem with it. | ||

They tend to poach players who have been nurtured by other teams. There seems to particularly be a lot of hating on EG from the LoL community. Historically, many among EG looked down upon LoL, due to its mechanical ease compared to other games. Edit- Oh and EG had a lot of hate for the Huk transfer, so did Huk himself, don't know why people are claming otherwise. | ||

EG uses the hate as part of their marketing strategy. Sometimes it backfires on them - the hype wears off but the "bad boys" aftertaste sticks around and that's all people remember. | ||
