His laning phase is supbar compared to a lot of other mids, and he can't exactly push incredibly well. His burst is great, but single target meaning that he loses some effectiveness later on. His stun is still great, which I believe mostly makes him a lot better than he would be otherwise.

Many people think it's a counter for teemo (1350's logic), but I think the matchup is just super lopsided for darius unless the teemo plays extremely well. What are you guys' thoughts on the matchup?

Honestly I don't like Froggen's build that much (I'm assuming that we are both watching his stream atm) but idk. I just don't see the point of the rylais follow up. Swain scales so much better off of resists than health that athene's or zhonya's would have been a much better follow up to RoA imo. Just my thoughts before everyone jumps on me for criticizing a pro, lol. Still, I feel he is really strong. Such a lane bully and does great sustained damage in midgame teamfights.

Also Swain's strong but I still think he can snowball downward too pretty hard if he gets dunked early on. Eve's range's pretty short and unless she has ignite she won't be able to instagib him before a while, so it's a good match-up for him rather than a general thing I'd say (if you can hit a W, they're gonna hurt, but apart from that most mids don't care too much about your 600 range Q since they'll insta-break the tether anyway).

I dont like rylais on him at all, i like roa -> hat then athenes most of the time. abyssal is okay too though i guess.

But Q's mana cost increases with rank. If I want to get DFG I can't get that much mana to constantly farm Q. This is just an experiment, ofc. But this is my rational behind maxing W first. EDIT: 3 games in a row with this weird build and won... then I checked lolking and realized two of three games I was laning against unranked I will try it a couple more games but I feel it's only good if my lane opponent is terrible. Also if I miss my stun I either die or get zoned for the next 15 seconds ![]()

I think it's just what you said. It's an annoying matchup for darius if he misses hooks and teemo can harass, and if teemo gets hooked, then darius by virtue of being melee can win trades or help a gank more.
