Why isn't there a penalty for leaving a game outside of just a report? For example: Leaving game = not able to play for the rest of the day. That would create a real incentive for people not to ruin games (yes, this happened to ruin a game of mine a while ago).

so i guess theres no regame anytime soon? haha oce just went into another solo Q game.

Man so ocelote is known for being a douchebag. So do his teammates put up with it since from what I've seen he doesn't seem to be overly amazing player. I can understand SK wanting him for the big stream numbers but really ditching your teammates because you surrender to M5?><

He's normally a positive guy, even in solo queue...

the image he is portraying is fabricated since he is trying to grow his "brand"
you should've watched him like 8 months ago

Gonna try Garen for fun, MF and Cass a bit more seriously. I liked playing Talon this week, switching a bit from bruisers to assassins really teaches you stuff about positioning and how to play teamfights, especially with a midlane AD assassin, regarding teamcomps.

I actually think DotA 2's low priority queue is a very good immediate deterrent for leavers.
If you leave 2 games within 24 hours of each other, then for the next 24 hours, you are placed in "low priority queue", in which you only get matched with other players in low priority queue. Because the only way to get there is by leaving, it means your queue times are excruciatingly long, and everyone else in your games were also leavers for that 24 hours. I think the penalties get harsher for repeated offenses, but I've only left 3 games, and don't know anyone who's left so many times as to get harsher penalties.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to LoL, started playing maybe a month or so ago, and I would like to ask your opinion about Irelia.
I only bought Riven so far, and I love her! She is so fun! And I'm wondering what champion to buy next. I looked through some threads in the LoL forum, and a lot of them said that Irelia was overly nerfed, and she may be UP. Is this true or is she viable? Do people play her in tournaments?

While I ruined the game for my teammates, I didn't intentionally do it. That's gotta count for something right?
And to the guy above me, Irelia was picked in just about every other tourney match up until a month ago (whenever that W got nerfed). Definitely viable, still pretty beastly late game, just has a slightly harder time gettin there.

Her early game is harsh against match-ups that were already against her pre-nerf, but if you can make it out unscathed she's still as good as before, except maybe in those clean-up phases where you'll have less healing from W while you need as much as you can get. Also, she's less good at pushing with the increased cd on her ult. She was really good at roaming with that, or just using it during poke phase to heal herself, and have it back up for the teamfight anyway.

Don't pick her vs certain tops period. Udyr and Olaf are 2 of her toughest matchups, and any half decent Olaf/Udyr will deny her and possibly even dive her in the later levels. Shes just terrible early really, but its compensated by her monster late game.
If you want something different, I highly recommend Rumble. Still perfectly viable vs pretty much every top laner and his teamfight is pretty solid with his ult. Also a great champ to run a double WotA comp with. Hes pretty hard to play from when I play him. Farming is not the easiest thing to do with him, since his Q is difficult to manage damage on minions with, and his harpoons do not do a lot of damage to minions. Hes really meant to try and kill the other top laner imo.

Aren't there differences for people who got disconnected and people who left. Like I remember the announcements "a summoner has disconnected" and "a summoner has left the game" or something like that. (In case you were wondering, the leaver was on the other team in my case)

Then I just shut off my internet connection to my computer when I want to leave and avoid the penalty.

If that was implemented, roffles won't be playing LoL for a while with his terror net

Wow, seriously! That list is total bullcrap, almost all characters are sick annoying and can be total hell in solo Q. Morde, Shen, Cassio, Shyvana and Nautilus all of them are sick sick annoying to deal with in every way. Luckily Diablo 3 is coming out so I can take a week off during the rise of hell.

If you're looking for more Riven info, check out her thread here or look up Goldfather8's guide on Solomid.net. It's an amazing tool with lots of matchup info, updated often, and he's pretty responsive to questions in the comments!
If you're looking into top and want something similar to Riven, look into Kennen. They both have strong laning, good lategame, and are very difficult to gank. It also gives you a chance to branch out to mid with him should you so desire. =]
Plus Kennen will be on free week tomorrow to test out!
