While this thread is labeled "DotA2", this is in fact a community thread first. Many of the users in the TL LoL subforum have been playing as friends for over a year now, so it makes logical sense that they would want to play other games together.

Do not compare DotA2 to LoL, you will get banned.

TL LoL veterans know what is expected. Newcomers be warned.

Can some1 explain me how Dota 2 matchmaking function ?
I played 100+ Bot games to test each hero, improve my lasthiting and get general feal of the game. Now i feel ready to start play Human games ( I dislike to ruin other ppl games with my lack of game knowladge )

So far its a random mess .... I feal like 2 years ago in LoL when i was lv1. 100% coin toss
Is there chance to get semi-organised games in Pubs ? Or i need to suffer 100+ games till my hidden ''ELO'' reaches some reasonable player base .... ?

Dota pubs are way way less competetive then League solo q /probably even normal games people just dont give any fuck at all (my guess is partly because you do not see your Elo and the people in stream just "troll" around more)
At higher level it gets a bit better but thats still no guarantee to not have a 5 carry team going on. Your best bet is to try to play some inhouses or play matchmaking with a few people.

Thnx Ente guess ill try add some ppl who play more or less reasonable and start build some friend pool to play with.

What is etiquete in Dota 2 when it comes to 100% lost games ? People tend to ragequit often and more follow , after 5min timer game anounces it's safe to leave , but some1 always stays thus game drags on till Enemy team finaly pushes down all towers.
If all 5 players from 1 side DC do game Automaticaly ends ?
The curent Battle point system/drops promotes afking in spawn zone until game end rather then just quiting for new game .

First of all 100% lost games is not really something which you can judge (Im assuming you are not that experienced in dota) just because turnarounds can happen. And I even saw 1v5 wins (with the extra leaver gold) on Heroes like Alchi or Void or sth. If people ragequit you have to decide yourself you can leave if you want to and dont face any consequences (after the 5 min timer is gone/he abandoned the game) besides losing. But there are situations where you can win 4 v5 and it migh actually better for your team that he left.

Yes if 5 player leave the game ends but you can actually play a game if you left even though the other game is still going on.

I think I have to disagree partially here. When I compare my experience in League solo q with DotA 2 solo q I feel the average quality of people is MUCH higher in dota, mostly because of "you can't visibly see the other guys penis size and make it shrink". Where in League raging people are commong every 2-3 games at least, those guys are MUCH rarer in DotA. I tend to report/commend whenever I see something really bad/really good happen and I submitted about 60 reports total over almost 600 games.

Also, keep in mind that in comparison to League your individual skill matters much more. Someone being 5-0 in lane or even the enemy team being 15-5 or something similar means way less because you can still get "the" black hole, sandking ult, fissure off. You can still have more gold than the other carry despite being down 5 kills simply because he might have horrible lasthitting.

Add to that the fact that losing in DotA can be much more fun than in League (because you can still blow up people 2n1 or 3n1 most of the time and there are much more chances to catch them) AND the fact that highground gives you a significant defenders advantage there are lots of games which can be turned after a bad start and/or leavers.

Once the game is "safe to leave", you can just leave without repercussions. It really depends on the people. If laning is onesided for our side I might keep going for battlepoints and some stomping, if it's rather even it might turn out to be a cool game anyway.

tl;dr: Try to have as much fun as possible even when things go bad and you'll be fine.

PS: I think neither of you two guys is in the steamgroup. Are you? IDs? =P

Solution to both games:
Play with a stack so you don't play with random idiots on your team.

Yo,I have a quick question.I played only a couple of games the last few days and don't have the time to go through every single hero to get a feel for them.
Can someone tell me if there is a hero that has a similar AA animation,or feel to it,as the Brewmaster.I really liked him and his auto.

Best way is to check playdota.com/heroes and look for other heroes with the same or similar attack animation front-swing (Brewmaster has 0.35).

My steam ID http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198070716802/ I would be glad if you picked me for your TL games.
I'm a humble player and don't mind being scolded or play any role team needs ( actually in Dota 2 i like to play supports ) as long as team picks reasonable heroes and play past basics so i can watch and learn / improve.

Watching your lane carie walk back to base to buy boots with full HP is very disheartening in pubs

Edit: is there a chat where you guys hang out or is it just the tl chat ingame?

@LazyFailKid: I'm lazy myself, so posting your steam link will get you invited. =P

We usually chill in the "Liquidparty" channel and also ask for +X if we still need people. We're probably at the point where we can have multiple parties in some timezones, so don't be afraid to add/ask around for games. =)

@Rain: Added. Those teams sadly don't do anything yet except in custom games. =(
