What a shame, LoL isn't SC2 they where getting low stream numbers as it was, its important for a new scene to give out content free to start it of. If they got more international hype international teams might be more prone to stay a season.

So, were those high level games?

I tuned in for a bit of this and saw a guy dying to baron and just a whole lot of failed ganks.
I'm just trying to get a grasp for whether these were bad games or if this is generally how high-level LoL goes.

Failing a gank is usually more telling of high level than not. Ganks happen more often at low level play, and succeed more often. Higher level play people gank less because the likelyhood of success is lower, and when they do gank it still often results in failure because they're not willing to blow 2 flashes for the possibility of getting a kill.

This ogn tournament has a lot of really good teams, Ro8 on should be all good teams.

+ dieng to baron shouldn't happen, but sometimes it's a super close call if you can actually do it. And once you go for it you pretty much have to commit. Still a bad play obv..
Both teams that played today are pretty good tho and except for a few bad calls (mainly at baron. Hi loco!) the games were good and high lvl.

I don't understand why Ongamenet doesn't follow their own policy of only letting the vods that had been less than week old to be pay-to-watch...

yeah, LoL is free-to-play, and that's how it got so big as the top game in Korea. I see no reason why they want to charge for vods. At least give out 480p for free.

Bleh.

As I feared, the game is balanced around scrubs not dying, so of course high level players are going to be able to keep themselves alive.

Well, at least I can say now I gave LoL a decent chance.

For the OGN tournament is there still going to be a free stream at 3:30AM PST? Another question is are there going to be free restreams? I'm disappointed that there aren't any free vods but I still want to see more than the 30 second highlights on youtube.

VOD Payment
1 Day – $1.99
1 Week – $2.99 (Special Discount for Spring 2012), $3.99
1 Month - $8.99

I'm a bit disappointed that there's no option to get the VODs permanently like the GSL. I would rather they split it up by season so I don't lose access to the VODs after the subscription is over but this method does get them more money.

Ridiculous really. I'm lucky enough to be able to watch them live (most of the time) but providing free vods should be something that every major esports event does (either right after games are played, or a week).
