We had 49 forum users sign up for our first tournament. Initially, I had hoped we’d have enough people for 16 teams and we’d set up a double elimination bracket to get our top 4 teams for Semis/Finals. However, we have enough people for 9 teams, so our brackets needed some adjustments.

With nine teams, the admins have decided to do Round Robin format for the qualifiers. Each pool will have three teams, who play take turns and play the other two teams. The top placing team (2-0 in Round Robins) for each pool will make it to the Semi-Finals. The Wild Card spot for the remaining Semi-Final spot will be played out by the three remaining second place teams from each pools (teams with scores of 1-1). The team finishing with 2-0 in the Wild Card will secure the last spot into the Semi-Finals.
Pool stage Round Robin as well as Wild Card qualifier will be a Bo1. All ties, pool stage ties (A>B, B>C, C>A: where all teams end with 1-1) as well as Wild Card Qualifer ties, are to be replayed again.
Semis and Finals will be a Bo3, standard bracket. Single Elimination.
One point that I’m leaving to everyone is the days that we’ll play these games. I’m opening this week as a chance for teams to assemble and get some practice in. I’m looking to the weekend of Friday, Nov. 18th as the weekend we play our matches. I understand that this is the same weekend as MLG Providence. However, if we delay it yet another week, that will be Thanksgiving weekend for the Americans and it’ll be even harder to get players online then.

One of our admins told me that Spec Mode might be released this month, no promises. For the possibility of Spec Mode released by the time of our Semis/Finals, anyone would be interested in casting can contact NeoIllusions via PM.

With whispers of Spectator Mode around the corner, I want to host a tournament (under the TeamLiquid name) when it goes live. However, test runs are needed to ensure the real thing goes smoothly. Our very first tournament will be held on Dominion. The mode is still relatively novel and the games themselves don't last for more than 30 minutes each.

- Tournament will be held on NA server
- The date(s) of the tournament is still TBD, will depend on the # of teams as well as staff availability
- Each team will have 3 bans each (global tournament bans will be left at the admin's discretion pending any unforeseen patch problems)
- Bans will be made in a 1-1-1-1-1-1 format
- Team with First Ban will have First Pick
- Picks will be made in a 1-2-2-2-2-1 format
- Registration is either Solo Entry or Duo Entry
- Prize will be first place only, 5 Riot Nasus cards (courtesy of WaxAngel)
- Winning team per round must submit a replay as well as a screenshot. One replay and screenshot only per team. (This means at least one person per team should be designated to collected end game details)

To preface the entry details, I want to reiterate that this tournament is a test run and technically for fun. The prizes were retained after IPL and I wanted a productive way to give out the Riot skins. In a sense, I would like the skins to stay "within the family" and to elevate subforum camaraderie.
- Registrations will be either Solo Entry or Duo Entry (sign up link is above)
- Solo Entry must a TeamLiquid user
- If a Duo Entry, at least one member must be a bona fide TeamLiquid member (Account registered in past 2 months [Aug. '11] and with a minimum of 50 posts)
-- Second member can be a non-TL member (this is so TeamLiquid lurkers aren't left out. This also means you can pull in a "high elo player" from your friend list if you so desire)
--- Duo Entries can be TL/TL pair or TL/non-TL pair. Cannot be two non-TL users signing up
- Applicants must have a level 30 account
With all the entry data, the tournament admins will assemble teams a la "Solo Queue" style. This is the best way to keep the teams fair while at the same time keeping this an internal TL tournament. I don't think the tournament would be very fun or challenging if LoCi, Loco, Yiruru, Smash and Brees decided to team up together (for example).
Signups are open now and will remain up until Nov. 5th, 2011 (end of signup date subject to change)

Can't think of anywhere else to put this so I might as well put this here. Running a tournament requires some assistance so I'm looking for some "Good Hands":

Any tournament requires a number of reasonable, logical, level-headed people running it. If you are interested in the position, PM NeoIllusions with a paragraph detailing yourself and why you are fit for the position.
I am looking for Tournament Admins for the long run, so for this Dominion fun tournament as well as the more srs bsns tournament for SR when Spec Mode is out.
This also goes without saying, if you apply for Tournament Admin, you obviously cannot enter any TeamLiquid LoL tournament.

This is more of an open bid.
We have all seen some quality (read: sick ass) front page news and tournament OP threads here on TeamLiquid.net. Without having to poach current SC/SC2 graphics talents, I'm looking for some skilled artists for our own subforum. Probably not as vital for this tournament but I would like the SR tournament to have a respectable looking banner. Your skills may be called upon for other tournament OP threads as well (e.g. future MLG, WCG, etc banner threads)
