Remember the haters are always louder than your supporters. Take comfort in knowing people want you to succeed. If they offer you your job back, take it. It's too good an opportunity to crack into an industry you want to be a part. If they don't offer you your job, reapply to them anyways. Having the balls to go back and try again will impress people. Don't let a good thing pass you by because it is going to be tough. | ||

Marcou: Our competitive scene is massive and tournament have extended into the WCG, ESL, and even on the reddit sub forum thanks to the support of Nick and goggris and many others. I can speak more specifically to our competitive scene , since I'm directly involved with that, but I can easily say that you can expect constant improvements to League of Legends and many more high competitive events in 2011. Me Can I actually expect to see these events promoted in the slightest? Newegg and CEVO were disasters as far as coverage is concerned, and those two have been some of the biggest tournaments around. Why is it that I can hear more about a random LoL fan site's small 16-man tourney than I can about one of the biggest LoL tournaments around? I don't understand how a plan to make LoL competitive can ignore promoting competitive events. Marcou Yes, we are approaching that problem from two fronts: (1) Stronger promotional relationships with larger organizations such as Alienware, ESL, WCG, etc. You will see more news announcements in the manner that Alienware and WCG. One of the reasons that we hold back pushing an event is that I receive an equal amount of flaming for promoting something bad as I do for not promoting something good. There is a certain quality control that we need to perform before pushing something to our entire audience. Right now there are a lot of eSports organizations that don't understand our community. We are working with them more closely to fit in with our standards. (2) We are also working on improving how we deliver messaging specifically for the competitive player. The start of this was the competitive forum section. There are improvements that will come on this front as well. Thank you, Marcou, for implying that two of your biggest competitive events are "bad". Not to mention, how the hell do you know what you'd get flamed for if you've never promoted a competitive event besides WCG? | ||
