Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the news of Heroes of the Storm. As a new, blooming game, there’s a lot of stuff going on. Don’t worry, we got you covered.
News
- Dustin Browder answered a lot of tweets this week and hinted at potential changes to Artanis and Nova. He refused to give a date for Lunara, but there is a lot of speculation floating around that she will come with a quick patch sometime this week. Sadly, Arena Mode will not be coming until late next year
. - Tomorrow is the last day of Black Friday skin sale! Everything in the shop is still 50% off, so if you've been eyeing that one skin or really cool mount for a long time, GO AHEAD AND GET IT NOW!
- The @BlizzHeroes Twitter created one of the most adorable tweet chains on the web.
- Oreoman, former Team Snake/AsD player who retired after a scandal ruined his reputation in the Korean community, was graciously asked to come out of retirement to play for his team one last time at WCA.
Tournaments
- Hitbox held http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Hitbox_4K_Heroes_Showmatch streamed in 4K at 60 fps, officially making it a first in esports streaming. Though they some issues with audio sync and the stream restarting several times, it was nonetheless an impressive display. Hopefully all esports broadcasting moves this direction in the future.
- The last games of the http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Gold_Series_Heroes_League_2015/Season_2 Group Stage wrapped up this week, and now we're into the playoffs. eStar is looking unstoppable, and the Cloud9 we knew at BlizzCon has been struggling quite a bit in the longer league format of the tournament. If you haven't been keeping up with the League much, EsportsJohn wrote a quick recap of the group stage so far.
- The group stage of http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Community_Open_Tournament/2 also ended, with MVP Black, RAVE, Danawa Joker, and Mighty advancing to Ro4. Thus far, the games have been particularly interesting (as they always are with MVP Black), including some Shadow Assault Zeratul and even a rare Artanis appearance! The Ro4 will be played in a Bo7 format, so expect lots and lots of intense games. The Twitch stream and past broadcasts can be found at Team Inven's channel
- Several other minor tournaments have been going on as well including http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Heroes_Battle_Arena , http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/OGSeries_Storm_League , http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Enter_The_Storm/North_America/1 , and http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Enter_The_Storm/Europe/4 . They have been broadcasted by many community casters and Khaldor, so just keep an eye open for chances to watch teams scrim in these smaller competitions.
TeamLiquid Spotlight
- The Heroes of the Storm writing team announced a skin giveaway contest in conjunction with our landing page and Twitter launch. All you have to do to win a skin is submit a creative skin design to us via Twitter or post it in the thread, and we will get you a skin soon afterwards! Get them while they're hot!
- Nexus Nights streamed their second episode live on Saturday. If you didn't get a chance to see it, no worries, you can still check out the VoDs.
Community:
- Malbek gave us some insight into how Tassadar works and how to play him properly with his Tassadar Guide. I personally love it, but then again, he's the first person I've seen who also supports the Shield spam build
. - Community member BalancedBreakfast released another episode of his Hottest Top 5 Plays series. Beautiful stuff.
- Khaldor did a Reddit AMA, so be sure to check out his responses to the community and ask any questions you've been dying to ask him.
- Team Liquid's newest recruit, Cris, released a Tier List with talent builds for every Hero. While we strongly recommend you visit our Quick Talent Guide for all your needs, it can never hurt to see what the pros do :p.
The Funnies:
- KendricSwissh shares some of his Twitch Special Moments with us . I love Kendric's girl voice.
- We have yet another episode of WP and Funny Moments by Dark'Horu featuring Cho'Gall dying quite a bit!
- Reddit user renboy2 submitted a funny meme that then turned into a brilliant collection of like-minded memes.
- Slapathur Rising from TGN Squadron. (Actually, the whole video is good, but that is by and large the best moment of the entire video).
- And finally, submitted by Reddit user 8Yaron8 -- wtf did I just watch?
