People aren't supposed to be in it to "play" it, they're supposed to be in it to try to break it so the bugs can be fixed (though that would be contingent on him having actually reported it, which I seriously doubt he has so its not like he can claim the moral high ground here).

As someone who would actually post feedback and has never gotten onto a Blizzard beta, and have been playing their games since Diablo 1 it's so aggravating to see all these people who are ballbags and just use these things to get to play the game early. These guys at least drew attention to the bug, but in a poor way and seem to be absolute assholes

In fact, most game companies would ban a player for doing such a thing. There's a difference between finding a bug and exploiting it for no reason. They do have a point - Spreading the bug around to the point where a large number of people know about it is the fastest way to get it fixed. However, by doing this they are ruining games and preventing other things from being tested, so...

While the game is in Alpha, with the next stage being presumably closed Beta - this means HoTS is "invite only" i.e. a specific invite is linked to an account? Meaning there are no ways of getting codes other than this (which I did from a friend for SC2). Other than signing up for the Beta on your profile there's nothing you can do to get into the testing/increase your chances of this? Have watched a few streams and it looks like great fun so fingers crossed!!

Now when you custom you select the map, select your heroes then play against another team with a max of 2 observers. Drafting, however, still is not in the game. Not sure how that'll be handled at Blizzcon. Possibly they will add it before the matches.

I almost wonder if they weighted the invites to people who played a bunch of SC2 beta. Purely from anecdotal evidence all my friends who played a ton of SC2 WoL/HotS beta together have invites.

I've been playing since early February in the Friend and Family alpha and my second account got an invite on the first public wave, even though that account has nothing but Diablo II and a banned WoW account on it. A lot of the people that joined on the first public wave didn't even know anything about the game; they just saw it in their Battle.net profile and clicked on it, I guess. The first week there were a LOT of really basic questions and I got the impression a lot of the players were from World of Warcraft. Blizzard betas tend to be 1% specifically selected players and 99% completely random players.

When I signed up for it in my Beta Profile, I'm pretty sure I just made up a bunch of BS about how I played LoL and Dota, and was really interested in the MOBA genre. Not sure if it made an impact or not but we have never been selected for any other Betas from Blizzard despite signing up for every single one. Where did you type all of this information in? You literally just click a checkbox to opt-in.
