Hi. It's about time for the Battle of the Bands 4. Ready?
The Rules
- You can submit 10 minutes, 4 songs maximum. Send me your best and we'll want to listen to everything else you have.
- You will send the music file to ME. I'll be accepting e-mail submissions only. chobopeon at gmail dot com. This is for fairness of the vote! In the e-mail, make sure you include your username. I won't include that in the voting thread if you give me an alternative name (band name, real name - whatever), I just need to know who is submitting.
- As always, you don't have to be in an actual band. You don't have to play any specific genre or in any specific format. We want music and we're defining that very loosely. As long as the music is yours, send it to me! That said, covers are fine. The rule regarding covers is simple enough: make it clear that it is a cover and provide a link to the original artist's website.
- The DEADLINE IS June 15. Whoa a long time! I like longer deadlines better. Gives people time to prepare and actually record a song. Do me a favor. In a few days, when this thread goes below the fold, bump it every couple of days =] It'll mean more submissions and more people to listen to your submission.
The Competition
After the deadline has passed, I will set up the voting thread. Within a few days, a thread with all music ready for download (and streaming, hopefully) will be up and voting will begin. It will be easy to navigate and view the songs and artists. Votes will be tallied (in a deliberately secretive manner) and we'll have a good time trollin' and praising.

also dont be silly. "music these days" is as good as its ever been. more people have the access and ability to make music than ever before. the only difference is that it takes an effort to find good music because there is simply so much
you really dont think the 80s or 90s produced better music, do you? the 70s? silly. the 60s you might make an argument for but the point is, this decade has been the best one in a while for music. you just have to put some work into finding the great art.
exactly my point. this is 2009. all the great music is on the internet - don't look at tv or radio. music is incredible these days. who cares what mtv is playing? its antiquated and bland.

Shit, after hours of scrapping all of my crappy ideas I just have one 2:30 song I wrote almost a year ago...I've never submitted it anywhere though so I hope it's okay, I did say I'd submit something and I want to stick to that
For some reason I thought the deadline was due on the midnight in between the 15th and 16th, not the midnight between 14th and 15th...midnight is always confusing to me Anyways, sending my one song over, if I manage to write another one in the next 6 hours I'll send that over too.
