Several of you apparently have no concept of being passionate about your work so you have no understanding about why he's reacting the way he is. Is he overreacting? Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but its clear to me people just gobble this shit up like they have the whole picture. "Well I heard a report about him having his family call the cops and now this" Yeah you MUST know 100% of what's going on. Clueless nerds who have about the emotional awareness of a rock. It's much more likely Bale was just being an egotistical asshole, someone got in his line of vision at the wrong time right before a shot or something, and Bale decided to express himself. In other words, what the guy did probably was nothing to deserve this, and probably more likely that Bale was being more passionate about.. himself, rather than the movie he was working on (other than being "OUT OF THE ZONE YO" before a shot or something stupid like that). ![]() But this kind of stuff happens all the time especially with actors and directors

You originally said that a janitor "does more work" than bale, I disagreed. Then you said a janitor would somehow have the cool to not verbally yell at a person for ruining their work, I told you they'd at least want to. Cool, so the thing that stops them here is their fear to lose their job. So what do you wanna say? That you can go ahead and yell at people if you dont have to fear losing your job, otherwise stfu? While practically correct, maybe you should look at the ethical/moral side for once. Maybe u can behave like a sensible human person with some values even when you are in a position where you can afford to act like an ass. Maybe that constitutes the difference between being a total asshole and a decent person.

I thought his reaction was pretty tame though :D And it seems that it was the second time the DP guy was disturbing the scene, that makes Bale's reaction a little more comprehensible...

Aren't actors supposed to act convincingly with a huge camera filming up their nose, after a half hour of putting on make up, in uncomfortable costumes, with bright green screens around them, etc, etc, etc? The whole set is distracting as hell, the actor is the one that's supposed to ignore all that and act like he's actually in the movie. So he sees a guy with the corner of his eye picking his nose or scratching his balls and suddenly he can't do it anymore, it's too much for him. Give me a break... I used the "line of vision" thing to drive home a point. It actually sounds like the guy shined a light in his face or something (those lights are really bright by the way, like REALLY bright). But you make it sound like Bale is the hardest working person there and the most hard done by person there... and you're so dead wrong ![]() ![]() [Edit: oops, sorry I misinterpreted your post T_T]

i hate people who dont know shit about the subject at hand, then act like they're all high and mighty and that we professionals are taking it too seriously. an example would be if im doing art like painting or drawing and im really into it and im in the zone and my parents call me for dinner i tell them that im doing art and will go later because the state that i am in is precious, and my parents understand that and keep out of the way. im not saying im a fuckin professional its just that i totally understand how someone can fuckin blow up when a fucking stupid fucker comes in and fucks up something you've been working on for hours. and no, it's not easy to just "redo the scene" because it is impossible to redo the scene exactly like it was the previous take. maybe bale was really really happy with how the scene was going and wanted to use that take but this guy fucked it up. it would be like me doing a really intricate pen drawing and someone bumps the table. happens all the fucking time and it's nearly always a non-art student because art students know what the fuck is on the line and you do NOT BUMP THE FUCKING TABLES. i can understand why bale blew up. i dont have more specific details so im not sure if it was really warranted or not, if they talked it over or not, but i can fully understand it and i would probably do the same.

No what happened was not as if someone ruined your drawing. The scene probably went fine (they redo scenes usually 10-20 times, if not more, to find the best take... and a lot of shit happens between the takes usually) A closer parallel to what probably happened was that you were working on your drawing really hard and your mom called you down to grab something in the cupboard that she couldn't reach ![]()

Also the people that say that what happened warranted Bale chewing out the guy don't know the full situation as does no one else. I doubt a person that isn't in the scene would walk on the set during the scene without the director saying something and if he was checking the lights wouldn't that be off set? Unless Bale demands no one to move anywhere around the scene when he's acting then there shouldn't be a problem, so it comes down to Bale being a spoiled brat :/.

It will definitely be a shit movie, and Bale shouldn't be so serious about getting a scene right in a horrible movie. No one will even care. Yeah I was thinking along the same lines. I guess he's pretty passionate about all his work though or that it was just the general principle of the thing.

We dont know if Bale was nice/screamed at him the first time but we do know it was the second time the guy walked into his "line of vision".
