Ok, I have gotten a pm about the word limit. The person that sent it has requested the ability to go above 1200, and says that their story would be lessened if it were to be shoved into the 1200 word limit. Now, I don't like word limits anyways, but I also don't like changing rules...so idk. Any thoughts? I mean, since there isn't a prize I guess it doesn't matter either way. So maybe just make the 1200 a guideline instead of a rule, and you get as close as you can without destroying the story?

micronesia, how did you figure out you were working on my image before lemonwalrus posted them? Just curious since I don't think my name was in the file name, nor have I posted that pic anywhere.

Also as for the 1200 word limit, it's fine with me if people go over, as long as it isn't a novel or something.

I think people can go further than 1200, but over 1500 is just pushing it, otherwise soon we will end up reading 3000 words texts.

So, write what you must, but remember that sometimes less is better =)

Woot, I'm done my story after much procrastination!

I was going to write this heart-felt story of romance, love, passion and the inevitability of death...

Then I said fuck it, and was going to write about the story of trying to write my story with the very un-inspirational picture I got (ehehehe no offenses =)) then I realized my picture isn't so bad after all and I'm pretty happy with it =).

Granted I'm not a very good writer ehehe, now I have to work on my essay =(.

we need some sort of limit, otherwise I can say my image inspired me to write War and Peace. A little wiggle room from 1200 is fine though

i think its fine, as long as its not a ridiculous extension, and that the extra words are used for a reasonable reason.

Creative writing: look at the picture for a while, and feel inspired. Then create a piece of fiction, or a poem, or something like that...
