I like rocket dock but Thooseje's Side Bar sends CPU usage on my machine to 100%, which is completely unnecessary.
What do you guys use? I'd like a nice clock and weather reporter. I'd also like a cumulative bandwidth usage odometer if that exists. Thooseje's had some of that stuff, but I'm not a fan of the interface or the crazy system resources it uses.
I'm using XP as an OS. Give me advice! I'm a computer noob that just wants some nice little gadgets and I don't know the best way to do it!
ah...thoosje's sidebar is ok but ya it just makes the cpu usage go up to 100% and then i end turning it off...imo though i dont find any use for side bars and im on vista

That looks really nice. I've been messing around with it and I can find a skin with the features I like. Which one are you using there?
I think it's probably the Black Glass skin? (Black Glass). I remember it coming up before in one of the Desktop threads...
Also, I don't know how useful to you this might be, but a quick Google'ing revealed The Ultimate Windows XP Customization Guide, although I don't think it mentions any of the dock, clock, or weather programs that you're looking for.
Another nice app is dexpot: http://www.dexpot.de/index.php?lang=en which allows you to have up to 20 virtual "desktops" on your comp, if you like running zillions of programs at once with zillions of windows open.
i have rocketdock on my desktop on autohide, its pretty convenient I also use Launchy a lot, its a program someone posted here a while ago, you bring it up and type the name of the file/program you want to use and it launches it. good shit. rainmeter looks fun

The name of that specific skin is HUD.vision. Be careful when downloading it though, there are a lot of infected versions around, at least from what I've found.
Good luck though. Can send it to you if you can't find it.

Objectdock ObjectDock It's got a nice clock and weather reporter, its pretty much an upgraded version of rocketdock Lol I go to ctr + alt + del and end process explorer.exe. This way my desktop looks clean ^_^ and with objectdock I have all my shortcuts and windows. Here is what object dock looks like >_>
