last night i was watching "heat", and i was thinking about how awesome it is. a lot of people think pacino is over the top, and specifically, i've read some harsh criticism for "heat". personally i think mann's a great director, and there's psychological themes in 'heat' are pretty cool. your thoughts? | ||

second best concert of my life and if I could choose between watching it again and having a 3 hour long orgasm it would be a tough choice also the day brood is banned is some day I cannot even find a proper metaphor for because it is far less likely than hell freezing over | ||

Pacino's been over the top for a long time. Mann builds great suspense though, and what makes Heat even more interesting is the backstory between the real cops involved. Heat is a great watch, but certainly not the apex of any of the creative forces involved. | ||

The Dark Knight has certainly set the bench mark for "super hero movies". The film had no qualms about attacking morality issues, both in-your-face and very subtle. The main problem of the film, in my opinion, is that it doesn't know which questions to ask, and which ones to answer. Despite a cadre of strong performances, the film remains uncomfortably ambiguous as to it's intent. Technically flawless, I wish Ledger were around for Nolan to construct a strong follow up/ | ||
