I was only sarcastically trying to prove his point than Kim Jong-Il exists because of American imperialism, but the Korean Workers' Party power structure was already in place before the Korean War so it's not like one of these Al Qaeda situations where we really did create the menace.
Anyways just saying, if you think America tried to save the world with their actions because they were all such great people you're wrong. All nations acted out of self interest in those days. Fair enough. I realize the last sentence of that post made it sound like I meant that, but I really didn't. I just needed something else really drenched in sarcasm to tack on at the end.
I know it was largely for our resources.

Alright, I am in no way saying he had a point, just thought that was kinda silly way of reasning.
Al Qaeda wasn't created because of the Americans though, I find that hard to believe. They could've allied themselves with the western countries but they would rather destroy the west because fundamentalism leads to retarded thinking.

No he didn't. Although you can agree with him, his arguments had several factual errors and his rhetorical style was unpolished (i.e. not using facts, loaded questions).

Well Kaesi if you weren't comparing pleasure squad to gold diggers but instead compare it to human trafficking + sex slavery in America it would've given you slightly more credit.
It's true that there is no paradise on earth. Each has their share of the prolems, some more severe than others. I.e. 2,300 people are estimated to be missing in America everyday which the federal government counted 840,279 missing persons cases in 2001. That is more than Kim Jong Il's pleasure squad in a day. Not all of them are result of human trafficking and forced prostitution, but it is a rough demonstration of how severe the situation is.
I find it problematic however when people try to justify injustice with another injustice, which is the notion of 'since person A has commited murder it is OK for person B to rape.' I sort of agree with Jibba's notion that Kim Jong Il today is a product of US imperialism. If you observe the path and policy that US has been following, if you are able to see beyond the obvious and what's reported in the news you soon realise how united Korea is not beneficial to USA at all. It would weaken the whole bullshit axis of evil propaganda US is waging, and it would mean no more supplying of expensive heavy artilleries, tanks and jets to South Korea at high cost. It also heavily affects South Korea's dependancy level on USA where South Korea religiously serving USA as a loyal hunting dog.
It's no different from how Iraq went to war against Iran with chemical weapons supplied by USA while on the front page US critisizing Iraq of its actions. It then attacks Iraq with fabricated evidences. Bush Administration is now attempting to manufacture phony evidence linking American deaths in Iraq to weapons supplied by Iran in order to justify attacking of Iran. A sad reality of country that has to initiate a war one way or another to survive and profit.
Sorry slightly off topic.

You want us to take your word for it or something? Do you even understand how discussion works? What is this supposed to add to the discussion, if you want to convince me he has a point go ahead and give it a try because all I've seen so far is faulty logic, strong biased views against the west and comparisons that don't make sense.

The one thing that really interests me about N. Korea that is if the average citizen adores Kim Il Sung or Kim Jong Il as uch as they are forced to proclaim.
I mean, it's impossible to know for sure until we have satellite mind reading capability, but I do wonder if they all love them, all hate the, or if it's mixed.
It could depend on status etc. for a lot of people.

Noone who lives in poverty loves their government unconditionally. These people haven't seen improvement since ... forever. I guess it depends on how good of a job kim jung il has of isolating n korea from the rest of the world.
The average man there probably doesn't give 2 shits about him.
|
Yes that's what I considered, if he is masterful at isolation then people may be fooled into thinking that he really is a great leader and all other nations are evil imperialist oppressive warmongers. Obviously North Korea has a pretty powerful propaganda machine. Obviously anyone who learns about the outside world would hate their government there.

The bottom line is, everyone everywhere is a hypocrite at some time. Just because it's hypocritical doesn't mean we shouldn't oppose it. Say I kill a baby out of spite. The next day, I see somebody else about to kill a baby. Should I ignore it because it'd make me a hypocrite to stop him?

That's probably the oddest analogy i've ever read

Well, first ask whether he's doing it out of spite first I suppose.
