I recommend Gatsby Wax. They have a wide range of holds and levels of shine. It's a Japanese Wax that is very popular in Korea. You can get it on ebay.

The problem is your hairstyle looks thick. Thick hair is notoriously difficult to stick and hold. You can resolve this problem by blow drying near the roots shortly after applying whatever gel/clay substance you wish to use. However, if you do blow dry you're gonna end up with this really retarded looking platish look unless you have a blow dryer that is relatively small and can use very low power. Even if you do, blow dry volumizing takes a lot of practice. I suggest asking your barber to thin your hair SLIGHTLY if possible, and then applying gel or watever to your hair AFTER you wet and dry it. While your hair is in a 90% dry state you can style it very easily, and then hairspray it. The important thing is to not use too much gel, cuz it's very watery stuff and water is what is ultimately weighing down your hair when it begins to flop. Complicated hairstyles suck, i should know mine only lasts for about a week before it starts to look kinda whack. GL.

You can get hair thinned - maybe thin it then use some lighter wax, I use 'Redken 5th Avenue NYC For Men - Maneuver' wax.

It's sexy.

Well, I have to get to class on time ;; I have 10 mins to travel from my business class at Wilfrid Laurier University to my advanced calculus class at the University of Waterloo. Definitely not possible by walking. The other alternative being running my ass off and that's an even worse choice. Not only do I arrive with messed up hair, I arrive all sweaty

Here's the perfect guide to doing your hair fast without being totally gay: Buy some gel, take a bunch of it and rub it in your hair, make sure it has the right form, and there you go. Just look confident or it's not gonna matter what your hair looks like anyway.

Seems kinda awkward to me for a guy spending more than 5 min on his hair every day, very awkward. To each his own I guess.

lol I do that except I use wax and I spray my hair quickly right after I'm done styling. The only time I spend more than 5 mins is if I blowdry my hair after a shower.
I do agree that confidence is the biggest factor. Thankfully, I'm not one of those timid people who can't talk to others. Though I do act a little differently around attractive girls >_<
And there are a few attractive asian girls on my floor

I was going to post before and after pictures but then I realized my hair looks almost exactly the same. After a quick touch-up, it was back to what it was in the morning. I guess that's the power of a spray :O

Maybe I'll do it for a day when I don't use any spray.
Anyways, I'll throw in a before picture just for the hell of it. The after picture looks more or less the same ~_~

My hair looks shiny in the picture but that's because the light was very close to me. It's not actually shiny.

By the way, I used wax and then sprayed my hair when I was done. Took me about 3-4 mins.

this got2be spiking hair glue is insane. it won't come out while you sleep or anything. You have to really wash your hair thoroughly to get it out all the way.
Its expensive so I don't use it, I mostly just buy the big tubs of La Bella MEGA SUPER GOSU ULTRA 10 STRENGTH/INTELLECT/FIGHTING/ENERGY (insert other stupid adjectives) gel.

There are like pink, blue, green versions. I've used them all they mostly have a different smell (watermelons or whatever) but it wears off when the gel dries and doesn't really matter. its anywhere from 1 dollar (99cent store ftw) to 5 bucks for a tub of like i dunno 40 oz. It usually lasts me 3-5 months
