June 15th update + Notes: LiquidDota and LiquidLegends now redirect to TL.net. The general discussion forums for Dota 2 and LiquidLegends should be listed under the "Other Games" block of the left sidebar. Users who can't see these forums can turn them on via the sidebar customization menu.
Stream list and and tournament calendar migration, as well as subforum archiving is currently underway.
Dear Team Liquid community,
We are sad to announce that as of June 15th, 2022, LiquidDota.com and LiquidLegends.net will close down and be reintegrated into TL.net.
Ever since TL.net started as a community website for StarCraft: Brood War in 2002, we’ve had the pleasure of following our community members as their interests branched out into other games and competitive scenes. For some games, this interest even became so great that it was beneficial to both the community and Team Liquid to create separate sites. LiquidHearth led the way, and it was then followed by LiquidDota and LiquidLegends.
These sites carried the spirit of TL.net into their respective scenes, and we’re extremely proud of the articles, tournament coverage, strategy guides, and discussions (even the ones about balance) the staff and community and members created. Many of the writers, personalities, and behind-the-scenes workers in esports got their foot in the door through the Liquid family of sites, and we’re proud to see a part of the TL community carry on with them in their work.
Unfortunately, just as a community might grow and branch out, it’s also a reality that some of those branches may dwindle over time. While it was a pleasure to serve the LiquidDota and LiquidLegends communities (and the LiquidHearth community before that), it is no longer practical for Team Liquid to continue operating them as separate websites at their current activity level.
It’s been our honor to be a part of Dota 2 and League of Legends through our community sites, and Team Liquid will continue its commitment to those games through its professional teams and Liquipedia. The Dota 2 and League of Legends forums will be reintegrated back into TL.net where they began, and we welcome everyone to stay around and continue their conversations with old and new friends alike.

I only care about starcraft so I don't know how these other games are doing
Dota and League are fine, but nobody goes to dedicated fansites to talk about them anymore. The communities have moved to reddit/discord/twitch/whatever.
Yeah the culture of written guides, build orders, and LP threads that formed a lot of TL community stuff through the starcrafts just never really caught on for League/Dota. There's next to no strategic discussion on LD, even on a weekly basis.
I think this’ll be the best board for those games, I’m sure most TL users dabble in these games. TL is really set up as a better way to communicate than Reddit and other boards. The forum has perfected communication over years, while Reddit is optimized to give you the best content. With the community reunited hopefully activity increases and great discussions are had
2002 feels like so long ago, im not sad i think its awesome TL.net has more coming back home ! Im more of a lurker then anything been a member for 20 years and only 180 posts.. I like the scv

Yea, this doesn't surprise me. I was always surprised to see the lack of Dota talk on LiquidDota, but as others have mentioned, online forums don't have the same draw they once did.
any chance of: - moving the fan club section back to a more prominent location on left sidebar - adding douyu.com/3484 to live streams so its 30k viewer count makes starcraft less of a dead game?
assumes we can agree on a way to estimate viewer count since douyu only provides subscribed viewer count. my suggestion is 2.5x sub viewer count, displayed as "33123 (est.)"
Yeah this is to be expected. I like all these games but its kinda annoying to tab through various websites. I hope TL does a re-evaluation on different sub forums and the like, maybe covering Counterstrike and other e-sports.
Granted I think there’s probably an effort to keep TL.net more Starcaft-oriented and not just a generic gaming/esports community.

We've covered CSGO in the past, and had a sub-forum specifically for the game/coverage. Our CS staff has been dead/inactive for a while though.
Understandable. For me LiquidDota was super useful for the events tracker in the sidebar, that's all I ever used it for. I don't mean that in a bad way, it was the best one. Better than gosugamers, reddit, liquipedia, twitch, whatever else there is.
In that way it's a bit sad that it's gone because I liked it, but I haven't made a forum post on (any part of) tl.net since 2013 so it's not like I should complain =)
Welcome. I've stopped paying attention to any of the games here but I still come for the sports threads and the other games threads. The sports threads had the right amount of activity for me (though even it is getting too slow lately) and there are other people here who shares my tastes in other genres so we get some good conversations about them. An influx of posters from other TL sites would be welcome.
I guess this was sort of to be expected. tldota didn't really have any life in it, with the exception of liquipedia, which is kinda of its own thing anyway. I've been a member since 2008 and don't really post much at all. I really believe a more concentrated effort into one site is the way to go from here.
Anyhow I just wanted to let all you fabulous tl.net people know that your hard work is appreciated, despite the situation with LiquidDota and LiquidLegends!
