You also need to be prepared to shoot any and all anti-air assets in, and outside the area that may impact your ability to enforce the no-fly zone. This includes ground targets within Belarus.

NATO has nothing to do if Poland doesn't trigger article 5. It hasn't yet. It probably won't. Russia probably won't acknowledge or apologize. Source : me, not having been called back to work (yet). Maybe article 4. The worst that can happen in my mind would be Poland notifying (through art 4) that it would take retaliatory measures (shooting missile launch sites) on its own. Russia probably wouldnt clearly retaliate (otherwise art 5). But I'm willing to bet it won't even go that far.

I'm sure WP would retaliate if ammo depot or fuel depot would be striken, but its not the case.

Russia's defence ministry on Tuesday denied reports that Russian missiles had hit Polish territory, describing them as "a deliberate provocation aimed at escalating the situation". It added in a statement: "No strikes on targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border were made by Russian means of destruction." Wreckage reportedly found at the scene "has nothing to do with Russian weapons", it said.

Russian Ministry of Defence already called it a "provocation intended to escalate tensions". I don't think they're even considering apologizing.

Nothing stopping them from going 1 on 1 with Russia if they think they can take them. Absolutely zero reason for them to think they can’t right now. They can also fight anywhere in Ukraine without technically invading Russia so they could likely still do so under the NATO aegis.

This isn't a power move though, it's a massive blunder. Russia needed the western public to pay less and less attention to the war and more of it on energy/food bills. This is trying to tip toe around someone falling asleep, tripping and knocking over the TV.

And Russia tries to deny it like usual https://twitter.com/sumlenny/status/1592616005851054080 I think it’s fair to say they didn’t trip over and land on the launch button. Either they deliberately launched inaccurate missiles targeting a wide area including Poland or they deliberately launched accurate missiles at Poland. In either case they aimed at Poland.
