Seconded.
Seems like it could be some solid information for the thread overall.

NATO does not recognize annexing of held areas, including Crimea. NATO will continue to support Ukraine, if not more. Now taking reporter questions.

NATO do not recognize the annexations and positively affirm that in their view all annexed territory, specifically including Crimea, is Ukrainian. NATO pledge to continue providing support to Ukraine as they defend themselves for as long as it takes.
My reading of that is that if Ukraine continue the war into Crimea there will be no change in the NATO backing. If they continue into Moscow there would be but as long as they’re defending themselves within the pre 2014 borders they have a full commitment.

Making a statement on Crimea being Ukraine isn't nothing but thats the most new thing I think that came out of it.

He also said if Russia stops fighting, the war will end. If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine will cease to exist. And that's not an option.
After todays events, I personally think we need to start training the Ukrainians on the Leopards and see what we can pull together. Putin convinced me again.
Edit: He also said, apart from more support for Ukraine, there'll be more support for and troops being moved to eastern countries of the alliance.

NATO is increasing troops in Eastern Europe. Also he ducked the Ukraine applying for NATO question.
But the big story is not that press conference but whoever the reporter was that asked the Secretary would it be wise to tell Ukraine to stop attacking said annexed territories since it risks nuclear war.

Thanks for the summaries y'all.

Counting Canada that makes 5. But besides people seem to forget that Article 11 trumps Article 5 of NATO when it comes to the US.

'Joining as soon as possible' still means not anytime soon as long as the war is still going. As long as there is a territorial conflict it is impossible for ukraine to join... Not to mention that it would make no sense for nato to let ukraine in right now, even if possible. Keeping nato states from becoming an active participant in this war is what has shaped the aid that ukraine is receiving the most imo.
People need to wake up and stop dreaming about ukraine simply joining nato and forcing russia to turn around and go back home peacefully.

Well, technically Turkey and Greece (both NATO members) are at war. Also, Canada and Denmark are exchanging control of an island on a weekly basis (decades long territorial dispute).
I think articles might be pertaining to being involved in active conflicts where actual fighting is happening though... International politics can be complex.

First of all, I'm sure you can source that?
And second of all, even if that's not a bold faced propaganda lie (which it is), how does that in any way justify the bombing, shooting, raping, torturing and murdering that your military is doing at the moment?
we are on our land. you are on other continent, mind your business, you were not interested in defending people of Donbass.
You are not on your land. You are on Ukraine's land. Ukraine is not Russia. Ukraine doesn't want to be Russia.

Neither of those are 'technically wars', and afaik, their nato membership predates the aegean conflict.
Same goes for denmark canada. Its not a war by any definition, and the nato membership of both states predated the conflict. I also think they agreed to split the island last year. You don't get kicked out of nato for having territorial disputes, the rule is to prevent you from joining nato because you want some backup for your dispute.
EDIT: JimmiC coming in with the details. It was just a couple of months ago? Covid times really messed up my perception of time
