Nobody really talks about how Amazon got big selling stripper poles marketed as monitors.
Maybe not US pol relevant... Buuut the blatant disregard for privacy regulations in the EU has gotten worse, not better.

What matters most to you is not everyone. And my guess is what you would have said mattered pre Trump you likely have had your change so you can still vote red. Because things like inflation, fiscal responsibility, small government, censorship and so on you can’t actually vote Republican for anymore. Oh and when was the last time that professor voted for a GOP nominee for president? Is his deciding factor Ukraine? Not exactly the most representative sample either. We can look at data, even if polling sucks. People are not making choices based on Ukraine. At this point most lefties have moved on to Gaza anyways, so it'snot like dems are running on it (tbf they never really have because, one, it's far away, and two, anti-interventionism has a long history on the American right *and* left). I'm making a very small point here, it's only that Ukraine is not moving votes. And it's not hard to understand why that issue barely registers. He mentions how he is a Republican most videos and gets threshed in the comments because of it. I’m not sure he didn’t vote Trump two years ago. Like I said, it’s not a major issue, but saying it’s nothing is wrong too. If it was republicans would not talk about it. You probably missed this, because it was a small thing, but there was a lot of talk about Trump colluding with the Russians. How do you think it looks for non cult members when he makes a stupid deal with them for billions? Especially well he is fighting a very unpopular war with Iran who is Russias top ally? Your side can’t lose many more voters if they want to hold the senate and you know Trump is good for so more gaffes. Edit: what are your top 5 policy reasons for voting for this Republican Party in this election? my top 5 reasons are like all the reasons. Trump is far from perfect, and quite bad on some things but giving Democrats the keys (and the wallet) would allow them to better advance their legislative project which I almost entirely oppose. It's really quite simple. Overwhelmingly, they will try to stop good things and do bad things. No matter my disagreement with Ukraine policy it would be lunacy to let that override everything else *especially* since most Congress critters are at least mildly pro-Ukraine, Republicans included. What is the Democrats legislative project that you entirely oppose? Why is stuff like Project 2025 more akin to your likes than what the Democrats would do? Can you go into detail please? I believe It basically boils down to Democrats believing the best way for capitalism to extract the most out of society is to grease the squeaky wheels with social programs while Republicans think the best way for capitalism to extract the most out of society is to instill fear of failure through punishment and providing targeted relief by way of community* (*using this loosely) integration.
You can use that as a pretty good heuristic for all of the policy/beliefs that follow.
Two Competing Strategies for Capitalist Optimization
1. Core Belief
- Democrats (Stabilization): Unregulated capitalism is inherently volatile and self-destructive.
- Republicans (Discipline): Centralized government intervention distorts natural market efficiencies.
2. Primary Systemic Risk
- Democrats (Stabilization): Under-consumption, civil unrest, and systemic collapse from inequality.
- Republicans (Discipline): Stagnation, moral hazard, and dependency on the state.
3. Role of Social Programs
- Democrats (Stabilization): To act as a floor that keeps citizens participating as consumers in the market.
- Republicans (Discipline): To act as a temporary safety net managed locally, ensuring it doesn't replace work.
4. View on Extraction
- Democrats (Stabilization): Greasing the bottom wheels keeps the entire economic engine moving forward.
- Republicans (Discipline): Sharpening the edges of competition forces maximum productivity.
Essentially, it’s a debate between managing the irreducible capitalist system via stabilization or managing it via discipline. The "pragmatic middle" are people that see the need for both in maintaining capitalism

How are the Republicans sharpening competition by allowing all sorts of monopolies? And Trump is huge on central government and intervention, most of any president I can remember.

If describing political parties as competing system-maintenance models instead of team sports means my brain turned to mush, then yeah, guilty I guess? If you actually have a counterargument/amendment to the heuristic, I'm all ears. Otherwise, thanks for the high-effort contribution to the thread.

What does it say if AI slop was better than what they were posting before?

Literally turned the White House lawn into a Tesla showroom while giving his official endorsement to their products.
