On the one hand, I'm okay with the government applying a law passed by Congress as part of regulating limited public airwaves in a situation where it applies.

On the other hand, I'm also okay with them not applying it in a situation where it doesn't apply.

Typical know-nothing responses regarding the entirely arbitrary exemptions in the first place, literally troll behavior "free speech absolutist" (If you ask the trolls to point out where somebody's ever said that, they'll fumble and change the subject), and a complete inability to contemplate changing a law instead of whining about a law's effects.

Just come out and say you want Congress to repeal or amend the 1934/1959 laws to deprive the FCC of authority. If you can't say that clearly and unequivocally, why can't you?

And also crickets from LightSpectra to acknowledge the legitimate difference in law between FCC authority on cable shows and broadcast programs. I won't hold my breath, since he gets awfully quiet when it comes to correcting prior inaccurate statements. Maybe Billyboy can help LightSpectra out and comment on the law and what the Reuters article might have done better to explain.

Your opinion as a self-described moderate Democrat is that the FCC can be illegally weaponized to impede the speech of Democrats (because your ears were closed when Paxton was invited or something), but when it comes to being illegally weaponized to impede the speech of Republicans, they ought to follow the law. Tracks for your post history, yeah.
