Nobody thinks you're a Trumper for (allegedly) being a centrist. People think you're a Trumper because you defend his sexual abuse allegations more fervently than his own defense attorneys. Hope that helps.

The most prominent politician associated with Stormfront is Trump, thats not a real argument for anything.

You have no evidence AOC is a member of the DSA. Your arguments are that you have no way of knowing that shes not, or quoting an unscoured attribution on wikipedia. You keep repeating that shes endorsed by her local chapter like that means anything about her membership.

I don't get the root of this cantankerous reaction to the idea of an intelligent left-wing woman like AOC being DSA. What's the problem supposed to be? I can't figure out if it's in defense of DSA against the apparently bought-out and moderate AOC, or in defense of AOC against the extremist DSA. Surely it's just a feather in both of their caps to have her still in the House unlike the two Bowman and Bush who lost their seats.

I like how you guys who think it's fun to copy paste forum posts into AI chat boxes to argue for you can't really deal with the em dashes so they keep on leaking out.

I started noticing this because I, too instructed my work AI to never use them, so instead of using — the sly fucker started doing -- , I can see that you are doing this so much that you likely told yours it can't do that anymore so now it did --- .

And the saddest part is that, basically, these signs are never used like this, like, ever, and you saw this and didn't even bother to read your output and edit it a bit to make it less obvious.

Still pretty pathetic that you keep doing this, oBlade is another one who leans into this a lot, but you aren't much different.

It's so weird tho, I mean, I know I have a problem, I like to argue online, to me, using an AI to argue for me is incredibly sad, like being addicted to cigarettes but having your dog smoke instead of you.
I should hope AI posts better than me! Like you, I post online. I know that sooner or later I’ll be compared to Hitler and be accused of using AI and be a Trumper for wanting Dems to pivot towards the center. Ho hum. You’re dealing with 100% unaltered American adult here, and you better get a little more familiar with how hackneyed accusations of using AI are. I’m only concerned with whether you level the accusation knowing you’re wrong, or genuinely believe you’re right. I got the double dash habit around 20 years ago with Microsoft Words autocorrect, so take it up with Bill Gates.

It's funny how the victim complex is the strongest tie between you guys, you get caught doing cringy shit and it's immediately "well I guess I am AI Hitler".

No one thinks that you are AI buddy, I just think you are a sad human who tries to use AI to argue instead of you because you have a crippling lack of confidence in your views and abilities, plus a distinct lack of respect for everyone who occasionally reads your screeds.

Also the double dash "Word auto correct from 20 years ago" explanation is both sad and nonsensical, for once in your life own up to your fuckups buddy, it's healthy for ya.
So, are you a pessimist? - On my better days. Are you a nihilist? - Not as much as I should be.

But the Tea Party supported Ted Cruz before they switched to Trump. If you're following a similar precedent then the establishment/progressive in-fighting is going to lead to someone becoming POTUS that's barely tolerable to both of those sides, not a progressive.

So you did know about the infighting...

DSA is the closest thing Democrats have to the Tea Party (as most people understand it), but it's lacking some critical components that made the Tea Party work.

You're missing the forest for the trees focusing on the individual champions. I'm coming to realize how people fundamentally misunderstand what happened from the Tea Party to now because they don't recognize what US politics actually is.

The simple version is that the old "establishment Republicans" used their leverage over corporations (that they could regulate/tax/investigate them basically) to secure local "wins (formerly known as 'pork')" which in turn secured their reelections by making it prohibitively expensive to oust them, rather than just make some minor concessions that ultimately had negligible impact on the corporations' bottom lines.

The Tea Party was billionaires exploiting an oblivious populism to systematically remove as much of the leverage that those establishment politicians and their constituencies had on them as possible.

Okay so why did you bring up Republican infighting if their "success" in electing Trump is completely incomparable to what the DSA is doing to the Democratic Party?

That's one of the benefits of maintaining a quote chain (why you so frequently choose not to is worth considering), it provides context.

doubleupgradeobbies responded to me articulating some of my actual thoughts on DSA (as opposed to the caricature of them that was being bandied about) with a generic joke about infighting, so I pointed out how "infighting" isn't the problem (despite it getting the lion's share of the blame for a lack of political success in many people's views).

But again, infighting only benefited the Republicans insofar that it got Trump through the door by being an outsider that could win the begrudging support of both sides. The overwhelmingly right-wing media landscape did the rest of the work in getting Republicans to fall in line. It's absolutely a problem for Democrats (to what extent is debatable) because there isn't an overwhelmingly left-wing media to do so the same thing for us (nor would a blue-MAGA personality cult be desirable, even if it did win a round or two of elections).

And again, you asked why I mentioned it. The reason was to illustrate that infighting wasn't the overwhelming problem it is portrayed to be, the real issues are simplistically intricate.

You're correct to point out this difference in media, but your imagination (and reading of my previous posts) fails you in coming up with what (I would believe) would be an appropriate counter for that for people that actually want to bring the best tenets of socialist thought into our societal structure.

At the core, is again, a fundamental misalignment between how many people view US politics and the actual mechanisms/systems/etc at play. Behind all the rhetoric, it's about leverage. Obviously a humanist/socialist perspective is never going to win playing in a system designed to accommodate competing factions of the Epstein Class by trying to build their own competing faction of "good Epstein Class people" within that system's rules.

On that note, it's worth hearing more about your thoughts on why you believe there isn't/won't/can't be comparable corporate/mainstream/left-wing media that reinforces humanist/the best socialist tenets pressuring Democrats to fall in line?

Remind me what that appropriate counter would be?

20 years ago I probably would've agreed with this wholeheartedly, but Republicans have shown they can use their leverage to repeatedly screw over their own voters (not just the rank-and-file either, they have screwed over their own megacorporate backers in the weapons, agricultural, etc. industries) and that doesn't lose them those votes or support. The goldfish-brained swing voters don't remember any of it on election day either, just whatever gas prices look like and whatever the most recent scandal the media was talking about.

There could be, it's hypothetically possible, but there just isn't at this time. Right now the strongest force in politics is social media and the ones owned by the far-right (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Tiktok) completely mog all of the other ones (Reddit, Bluesky, the rest are barely even worth mentioning), which are still mostly owned by right-wingers, just not explicit Trump donors.
I support revolutionary socialism as the appropriate counter. The specific tactics that includes varies depending on perspective, but it starts in many ways, including with individuals recognizing the fundamental structures of US politics and capitalism. That's been at the core of my focus on leverage in US political history as I've described previously (rather than how you're thinking about it).

DSA is not that. But plenty of people I respect the work of think that it could(/must) be. So for those that think there's some sort of better reformist path option, DSA and the sort of uncomfortable infighting (that I would say you rightly/unintentionally point out is part of why the reformist path is a dead end) is the best version of that they're getting.

If all of the excesses and corruption of an Epstein accomplice POTUS didn't spur people into revolutionary socialism, then what will?

(ongoing) Deliberate and multi-generational efforts (like those I mentioned) by informed and dedicated workers aligning with circumstances ideally help brought about by those diligent efforts.

Nothing will magically 'spur' people into a revolution. Thinking a scandal will change the world is liberal idealism. As you pointed out, the Epstein Class owns the media, the algorithms, and the grocery stores (and in effect, the farms/factories that fill them). They know how to manage public anger and turn it into various forms of "harmless digital noise". The only thing that changes this is a brutal, multi-generational grind. We have to build/ramp up independent survival networks right now so people don't starve when they strike. We don't wait for the system to collapse. We diligently build the collective capacity to protect workers by choking off corporate profits, so that when the system finally fractures under its own greed, the working class has the raw physical leverage to take over instead of the fascists.

How do you or anyone think spending a couple pages arguing with Trump supporters about whether AOC is a member of DSA fits into this or your alternative preference (which would be nice to be seen explained)?

I don't have any criticisms. It's a fine outlook. I assume, since you said "We don't wait for the system to collapse", you therefore would agree that this multi-generational effort is more likely to succeed if socialists vote for centrists/liberals to keep fascists out of power whenever possible, i.e. the opposite of accelerationism. Correct?

It's funny because he thinks he gets to weigh in to normal conversations while being a completely irrational actor in this whole thread.

An adult human who can't answer a question about a major political event from 6 years ago thinks he can discuss politics with normal people, why, well, because this kind of shit has been normalized.

It's chilling to think that kids who are now 18 don't really know a world where a word cloud of news isn't dominated by Trump, don't know a world where politicians were expected to have a modicum of decency and class, where the office of the president of United States was respected and nicknamed "leader of the free world".

All they get is this grifter and cultist infested shitshow, it's sad as fuck.

You are fundamentally confusing the symptom with the disease. Corporate centrists do not stop fascism. Their policies explicitly manufacture the economic misery, desperation, and cynicism that breeds it. When liberals protect monopolies, bails out banks, and suppresses working-class wages, they lay down the foundations for the next right-wing strongman.Treating corporate Democrats as a 'shield' is a delusion. They are a political ratchet. The right moves the goalposts, and the center locks them into place. Voting for them doesn't defeat fascism, it just enables the slow motion decline of society while their corporate donors line their pockets."

I reject accelerationism in part because hoping for a catastrophic collapse without an organized alternative is suicidal. But you are misunderstanding the functionality/meaningfulness of voting as political engagement. It takes ~five minutes once every two years (at least it should in an industrialized country). If a worker decides that pulling the lever for a centrist buys a sliver of defensive breathing room for our independent unions and mutual aid networks to breathe, fine. Do it. If another worker decides the corporate party needs to be starved of votes to break its leverage, fine. Do that. But do not confuse a defensive five minute tactical choice inside a rigged capitalist system with the actual multi-generational work of building working-class power. The latter being how you actually keep fascists out of power.

One reason the Democratic establishment constantly drags progressives to the right is because of the exact logic you just laid out. They know they can give you objectively worse, corporate/Republican/lobbyist-written policies, and you will still fall in line because you are terrified of the alternative. You have given away all your leverage for free. By making 'harm reduction' one's political guidepost, you ensure that the center rarely has to concede a single thing to the working class (but for to keep the extraction going ala the New Deal). My outlook doesn't really care about your voting habits per se. It cares about what you are doing the other 364 days of the year. The only way to stop a fascist isn't to vote for a corporate puppet. It is to build the organized, independent capacity to shut down the economy when the state steps out of line. Which if you noticed, there was a bipartisan multi-generational effort to dismantle people's capacity to do that coming out of the Civil Rights Movement when they had a similar version of this discussion and falling in line behind centrists was the prevailing common sense. Which again, led us directly to Trump being president 2x (so far).

Membership is private, but endorsements are public. So too are her solicitations of endorsement, attendance at DSA events, encouragement of others to join DSA, campaigning with their door-knockers and phone-bankers, self description as a democratic socialist, and lack of reaction when at least two journalists referred to her as a member (some light googling). In common parlance, she’s a member for all of those. Find me all that with Stormfront and then I’ll make the same connection, but I have a good idea you know you can’t.

And if I was running a campaign seeing that quoted in Wikipedia and mainstream journalistic outfits, I’d correct the record. The endorsement is the hard part, paying a couple bucks would make me a member this week.

Even if all your criticisms of corporate centrism were true, that doesn't change the fact that every single thing fascists do in office makes the status quo worse than whatever a centrist would do. Choosing not to vote for the most left candidate whenever possible, even if they aren't very left, is actually what gives away leverage. If a politician won't get votes from the left no matter what they can do (within reason), they're going to instead fish for the votes from the center and right. That moves the Overton window to the right and makes grassroots socialists even more alienated. But probably the most important consequence of this is that people operating the state can use their power to cripple all of the extra-state apparatuses like mutual aid and unions that socialists are capable of building. Right-wingers itch at every possible opportunity to roll out McCarthyist policies to prevent grassroots socialism from happening; centrists sometimes do this, but it's a lot more rare and a lot less vicious.

If another worker decides the corporate party needs to be starved of votes to break its leverage, fine. Do that.

You can see from history that this almost never improves that status quo. It's about as rare as directly transitioning from absolute tsardom to Leninism.

And another point about this is: how much multi-generational work do you think you're actually going to succeed in building if you've successfully pissed off 90~% of the population by doing this? I mean, just going by the last election, if you hypothetically didn't vote for Harris: Trump voters already think you're a goddless commie, and the center/center-left folks that finds out you didn't vote for Harris are going to think you're untrustworthy, self-righteous, and an idiot. Not a good position to be in if you're trying to be the backbone that builds the future of society.

Go run my posts through some AI checker. I don’t think you’re a bot, though some of your responses approximate an unthinking automaton.

Also, look up Godwins law.

And you can just tell me that I’m right and avoid the AI accusation, or phobia of women accusation, or whatever comes next in that line. Russia I think. Or are Russian bots too passé for your type nowadays?

Fantasizing about being compared to hitler is a pretty wild thing to throw out there.

Who won the 2020 election?

It’s really fucking remarkable how you’re seemingly unable to answer a simple question like who won the 2020 election

I think people should just ignore him completely.

I have been very precise in my language, so its very funny that you are telling me to look up Goodwin's law when you are the one who succumbed to it, yet again missing the point pal.

So, to summarize, I don't think you are a bot or a Russian, I believe you when you say you are an American and human, a human who is lazy and dishonest enough to heavily lean into AI writing big parts of your posts for you, and a human who wrote some of the worse, empathy free shit I've ever seen justifying murder of 8 and 11 old boys that no system trained on collective writing of humans could come up with.

So, are you a pessimist? - On my better days. Are you a nihilist? - Not as much as I should be.

oblade and dyhb getting a windows 95 case of bsod when asked who won the 2020 election is the funniest thing that has happened in this thread.

Run it through an AI checker if you’re convinced. But I much prefer you engage with post content rather than pretend I use AI to write my posts. I really can’t believe you’re dumb enough to think I use AI to write. I have been wrong before, and I’m willing to be wrong about this.

Biden won, what’s the problem with this? Is AOC the most prominent DSA politician in American national politics?

I pointed out an artifact that you failed to explain in any way that would be believable to anyone with a functioning brain.

The body of evidence of you posting AI assisted gibberish is just your post history, I believe it to be self evident.
